Top Fantasy Baseball Week 2 Waiver Wire Pickups

3B Patrick Wisdom, Chicago Cubs (29% Owned)

Wisdom can be an absolute beast at the plate. He has put his talent on display over the years. More importantly, he hit 25 home runs last season. This season, he currently has a batting average of .348 with 3 home runs and 6 RBI through the first two weeks of the season. While it may be difficult for him to continue and this game is breaking pace, but looking for him to get on base, and move runners into scoring position. More importantly, he is quite solid with the glove as well and can line up at the corners in the infield and play outfield as well.

OF Oscar Colas, Chicago White Sox (24% Owned)

Colas has been seeing plenty of playing time early this season. Expect the amount to increase given the fact that Eloy Jimenez is currently on IR. Colas has impressed fans and management with his performance at the plate. He currently has a batting average of .300 with one home run and 4 RBIs. He is starting to get more comfortable at the major league level and drew a start against a Southpaw for the first time in his career this weekend. With Colas getting more comfortable and hitting his stride expect his output to increase, as he feeds off right-handed pitching.

OF Luke Raley, Tampa Bay Rays (3% Owned)

Raley is having a great start to the season. He currently holds a batting average of .308 with 3 home runs and six runs driven in. He is picking up exactly where he left off during the preseason, as he had an average of .326 with 5 home runs. His playing time has increased and will continue to increase considering he absolutely feasts off RHP. More importantly, he gives the Rays versatility by batting anywhere in the lineup, and he is able to position himself in the outfield and infield defensively.

P Seth Lugo, San Diego Padres (18% Owned)

Lugo looked quite comfortable getting back in the starting rotation, after spending some time in the bullpen with his previous team, the New York Mets. He is coming off a dominant performance of holding the Rockies to one run over 7 innings about a week ago. More importantly, he only gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7 hitters in his first start in 3 years. While it is unlikely that Seth Lugo, will be able to rack up an absurd amount of innings, look for him to deliver quality pitches in striking out hitters with sound control in his allotted work.

P Mitch Keller, Pittsburgh Pirates (12% Owned)

Keller has rebounded nicely in his second start. He only allowed a single run over 7 innings while striking out 7 hitters against the Boston Red Sox. While Keller has dominant stuff, he is constantly plagued by consistency. With a dominant second start, he has an ERA of under 3 with 15 strikeouts. Keller has a tough start coming up against the Houston Astros, but he has shown over his career that once he is able to find his groove, he is able to showcase his best stuff. Considering he is only owned at 12%, it would be nice to roster him considering he is a workhorse that can rack up strikeouts.
