Fantasy Football Week 3 Running Back Start/Sit: Brian Robinson Jr., Chuba Hubbard, Rachaad White and More

These are the running backs you need to start and should sit for Week 4.

Start

Brian Robinson Jr., Washington Commanders

Not only does Robinson have a good matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, who are allowing the 10th most fantasy points to running backs this season, but Austin Ekeler has also already been ruled out due to a concussion he suffered on Monday Night Football.

This will leave the backfield almost completely to Robinson and absolutely locks him in for all the carries and all the goal-line work, while probably also giving him a boost in the passing attack. He has already been excellent so far this season, but this set up to be his best game yet. We wouldn't be surprised to see him put up RB1 numbers in this game.

Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers

Hubbard went off last week with Andy Dalton inserted at quarterback and looked a lot like he looked when he was a league winner late last season. With Dalton back under center this week, we are going to roll with Hubbard once again.

The Bengals are an average matchup. They set just barely in the top half of the league against fantasy running backs, allowing the 15th-fewest fantasy points to the position. That's more than good enough for us to start Hubbard who this offense is going to lean heavily on.

Zack Moss, Cincinnati Bengals

Moss continues to see the vast majority of the workload in Cincy and continues to produce for fantasy owners. This week he goes up against a Panthers' defense that has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to running backs this season.

The Carolina defense is significantly better against the pass than the run, so we expect to see a whole lot of Moss this week. If the Bengals are going to right the ship this week, Moss is going to have to have a big day. Don't fear, he will hold off Chase Brown for another week.

Tony Pollard, Tennessee Titans

Running backs have been gashing the Miami Dolphins for big plays this season on a weekly basis. There is no reason to believe that Pollard won't be able to do the same on Monday Night Football.

Miami has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season and the absence of Tua Tagovailoa swings the game script into Pollard's favor. We don't expect the Dolphins to score and we don't expect the Dolphins to win. This should lead to a heavy workload for Pollard who has dominated snaps and touches for the Titans so far this season.

Sit

J.K. Dobbins, Los Angeles Chargers

This isn't a case of us just expecting the wheels to fall off with Dobbins this week after a subpar Week 3. There is a lot not to like about his matchup this week.

First, the Chiefs are a tough rush defense and are allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs this season. Also, Justin Herbert is expected to be sidelined or limited, which will allow a dominant Chiefs' defense to fully focus in on the rushing attack. We don't expect Dobbins to have much room to run in this one.

Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

We want to start by saying that Bucky Irving did pop up on the injury report Thursday with a hamstring issue. If he's sidelined or limited, then that drastically changes things, so be sure to monitor reports up until game day. However, assuming Irving does play, which is the current expectation, we are going to sit White.

Irving has been getting more and more work and has looked like the much better back. It's clear that he's taking over this backfield and will likely be in at least an even split sooner rather than later. White was volume-based and is tough to start as he loses that volume.

Zach Charbonnet, Seattle Seahawks

If Kenneth Walker returns, Charbonnet is obviously an easy sit. However, we are sitting him whether Walker plays or not and we'd sit Walker too if he's the starter. The Seahawks take on the Lions, who are by far the best in the league against fantasy running backs allowing the fewest points to them.

The team allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to running backs are closer to the 13th-best team than they are the Lions, who are allowing almost six fewer points per game. Detroit has allowed just 138 total rushing yards to running backs and only five receptions for 17 yards with one total TD. This is a matchup to avoid at all costs if at all possible.
