Let’s jump right in today and go through Saturday’s probable starters (according to MLB.com) who are widely available in fantasy leagues and have good matchups, creating streaming value. Most stats and rankings are from MLB and correct before Friday’s results. The full streamer rankings are listed at the bottom.

Many people are heading into a long weekend with Memorial Day coming up on Monday. That means summer is pretty much here, as school is ending and warm weather is going to force people outside (even against our best efforts).

Yesterday, I went through each AFC division and investigated the betting odds for division champion and tried identifying teams that had value. As much as we think we know what’s going to happen, surprises pop up every season, for both better and worse.

The draft is over, big free agents have signed and most NFL news is inconsequential outside of major injuries. A wave of players will be released and/or signed when June 1 hits, as money from previously released players will come off the books and signings no longer affect the compensatory draft pick equation.

It’s a bit of a light schedule today with only eight games scheduled to take place. That inevitably makes for less fantasy streamers, but Thursday actually offers a decent selection of starters you can plug into your lineup and expect OK results (or better).

Another day, another group of starting pitchers hoping to excel during their turn in the rotation. It must be tough as a starter: you only get one or two chances per week to help your team and otherwise must sit and hope for the best.

Today’s lineup of streamers is light, but there is a group right above that line in which each pitcher is owned in many leagues but available in enough to mention that they should be picked up and possibly rostered long-term.

Most teams sit in the middle of the league. Most players are also in the middle: It’s the bell curve distribution that drives us. That meaty part in the middle is where streamers live, those players who are better than replacement level but don’t stand out among the elite.

With very few viable streamers yesterday, I re-evaluated the best teams to attack with opposing pitchers in fantasy baseball based on both recent and season-long performances. You’d be able to guess most of the teams that stood out (the Marlins, Pirates, etc.); it’s still nice to have some statistical reasoning behind targeting those squads, though.

With only six games on the schedule today, there is a dearth of streaming options for fantasy owners. There isn’t much to talk about, so it seemed like a good time to re-evaluate the teams to target with opposing fantasy pitchers.
