Morgan worked for five years as a sports editor in northeast Wisconsin, covering everything from youth sports to the Green Bay Packers. He specialized in high school sports and was part of putting together sports sections for three newspapers.

Before that, Morgan was a sports assistant with USA-TODAY Network in central Wisconsin.
