All 30 NBA teams have been in action this week. Each game provided valuable insight for fantasy basketball owners.

Let's hop straight into the top performances that caught my eye from waiver wire players.

Caleb Martin Fantasy Outlook

Caleb Martin has been one of the few bright spots this season for the 76ers. He shocked everyone this offseason when he rejected an extension from the Miami Heat to instead sign a deal with the 76ers. He has been a very important piece for this team, which has dealt with multiple injuries to star players.

Him being versatile on both ends has allowed them to at least stay at bay in the standings and not lose too much ground. He is just now coming off a great performance recently against the Celtics on Christmas. He ended the game with 23 points, three rebounds, and two assists in 38 minutes of action. He always seems to play his best against the Celtics for some reason, and I cannot fathom why.

I would categorize Martin right now as a priority waiver target. I think the mix of his production and opportunity holds more weight rather than my trust in him. He’s a durable player, so he consistently plays, which is big. Another factor is that his production hasn’t plummeted with the returns of Paul George and Joel Embiid.

If it did falter with the return of those two, I would be a lot more skeptical. On the season, Martin is averaging 9.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists on 29 minutes per game. His current own percentage is only at 11%. That is extremely low for someone that could produce the way he can on a game-to-game basis.

Stephon Castle Fantasy Outlook

San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Castle has been everything they could ask for and even more so far this season. The first positive he’s brought to this team is stability with playmaking. Of course we all know that Chris Paul and Tre Jones are better passers than Castle at this point in his career, but they aren’t able to put as much pressure on defenses as he does. He is a supreme athlete, and it shows anytime he makes his mind up to go to the rim.

There is still much to be desired with his shooting, but the way he affects the game with his intangibles is still very impressive - not to mention he has sured up parts of the Spurs' perimeter defense, which troubled them all last season.

On the season, Castle is averaging 11.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists on 25 minutes per game. His own percentage is at 39%, so he’s widely available in most fantasy leagues. I think he’s a priority waiver wire target in my opinion. He has all the tools to be a consistent player for this Spurs team, and he’s going to get all the opportunities to do that as well.

Miles McBride Fantasy Outlook

New York Knicks guard Miles McBride has been one of the best role players this season. McBride has transformed himself from an end-of-the-bench player to one of the most consistent players in the league.

He was mostly known for his defense to start his career, but now he is an actual threat on the offensive end. He is not only a consistent shooter, but he is also good at creating his own shot, which is paramount for a guard his size. Once the Knicks are back at full health, I think he’ll play even better.

Right now the Knicks are undersized, so McBride has had to take on responsibilities tasked to bigger players usually. So once they roll out their full rotation, he will be put in better positions to produce even more.

I think McBride is a priority waiver wire target as well. I was skeptical about him simply because of how many scoring-oriented guys he has to play with, but he is just so efficient. He is able to just produce in bunches. He’s averaging 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3 assists this season. His current own percentage is 19%, so he’s very attainable.

Trayce Jackson-Davis Fantasy Outlook

Golden State Warriors center Trayce Jackson-Davis has proved to be a diamond in the rough. When he was selected with the 57th overall pick, many considered him to be a steal, but he still had to go out and produce.

He has done that in a huge way and also has cemented himself as a part of the Warriors future. He is a perfect lob threat and also athletic enough to be a defensive anchor around the rim.

I would not necessarily put Davis as a priority waiver wire target; he’s much more of a low-end target because of the volatility of his production most of the time. He is averaging 7.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks on the season. His own percentage is at 52%, so he is a little harder to acquire but shouldn’t be a problem for bigger leagues.
