Thursday Night Football: New York Giants @ San Francisco 49ers NFL Best Bets
Week 3 is here and it's time for Thursday Night Football. Last week, we saw the Philadelphia Eagles knock off the Minnesota Vikings in a high-scoring affair. This week we get the New York Giants going on the road to take on the San Francisco 49ers. The Giants will look to get back on track and knock off the 49ers who have been dominant so far this year. This will be a tricky game for fantasy managers, but there is definitely a ton of value to be had on at least one side.

Week 3 Thursday Night Football Best Bets
This might be a tough one for the Giants. They haven't looked good at all through two weeks, especially their offense. Now they are without their best player, as Saquon Barkley has been ruled out due to a sprained ankle. Matt Breida is expected to take his place. Breida is not a bad player; nevertheless, Saquon is a rare talent who can't be replaced. On top of that, Darren Waller is playing through a hamstring injury. It's hard to imagine how the Giants could win this game. On a short week, they have to travel to the West Coast to take on a team that looks like they could be Super Bowl-bound.
If possible, I am avoiding all the Giants this week. The only guy I'd consider playing is Waller, but I'm concerned about his health. This is a terrible matchup. Someone will have a nice day, however, starting a Giants' wideout is just throwing a dart. New York has been spreading the ball around well, which is good for the team, but not good for your fantasy team. You should bench all the Giants wideouts, start Waller, and only start Breida if you have to.
The 49ers are a whole different story. Their offense has been rolling. It looks like Brandon Aiyuk will be sidelined or limited due to an AC joint sprain in his shoulder. That will give a huge boost to Deebo Samuel and George Kittle. Both guys should have a monster night. Of course, Christian McCaffrey is always in your lineup. Brock Purdy is an interesting start, and I'd plug him in if you're streaming a QB or looking for an injury replacement. He's always good. Not amazing, just good, and sometimes that's good enough.
No matter how I look at this game, I don't see how the Giants can pull this one out. Everything is stacked up against them. The 49ers' defense is going to dominate, and on the other side of the ball, the offense looks unstoppable. They've scored 30 points in both games they've played this season. This one may not even be competitive. However, a 10.5-point spread on a Thursday night is tough to bet against.
The Picks
- New York Giants +10.5 (-112)
- San Francisco 49ers Moneyline (-550)
- Over/Under O44 (-112)
Best Thursday Night Football Prop Bets
Prop #1: George Kittle Over 3.5 Receptions (-130)
With Aiyuk hurt, Kittle should see all the targets he can handle. He should be able to hit this mark in the first half, maybe the first quarter. Kittle and Deebo should have great games, but I am going to take Kittle's line and it should be a slam dunk.
Prop #2: Daniel Jones Over 215.5 Passing Yards (-105)
This was a tough call, but I think Jones will be able to top the 215.5 mark on Thursday Night Football. He already has a 300-yard game under his belt this season, and quarterbacks have been racking up yards against this defense. Jones will be throwing the ball all game because the Giants will be playing catch-up. Without Saquon available, they could throw the ball even more than usual. Through two games, Kenny Pickett threw for 232 yards in a 30-7 loss and Matthew Stafford threw for 307 yards against the Niners' defense. The 49ers score early and often, so Jones will have no choice but to air it out.
Prop #3: Gary Brightwell Anytime TD (+500)
With my third prop, I am going to go with a long shot with big odds. $100 will get you $600 on this bet. Breida is only going to get so many touches, and another back is going to get some run. That back is Brightwell. We have seen him get goal-line work before, and with these odds, I am willing to throw a few dollars down on him finding the end zone. It's a long shot, but that's what gets you the big wins.
