Fantasy Football Wide Receiver & Tight End Start/Sit Week 7: Drake London, Marquise Brown, Hunter Henry
The importance of knowing who to start and who to sit can make or break a fantasy week and your matchup. People like to say, “Start your studs,” and typically speaking, that is the way to go, especially early in the season, but sometimes a player's matchup gives them more value in a certain week. On the flip side, a player can also have a poor matchup that could give you a reason to bench them.

Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Week 7 Starts
Jakobi Meyers, Las Vegas Raiders @ Chicago Bears
He has seen 17 targets in the past two weeks and scored a TD in both games. Although his QB, Jimmy Garoppolo, may not play this week, Meyers is still a focal point in this Raiders offense, and he will go up against a Bears defense that ranks 29th in the NFL against the pass. The Bears are a top-10 defense against the run, so we should expect to see the Raiders attack them through the air. If Jimmy G does play, Meyers is a MUST start; even if Jimmy G doesn’t play, the matchup dictates that Meyers is still a good option in 12, 14, and 16-team leagues.
Marquise Brown, Arizona Cardinals @ Seattle Seahawks
Brown has seen double-digit targets in four of the past five games and has three TDs during that time as well. He faces a Seahawks defense this week that ranks 28th in the NFL vs. the pass and 32nd in fantasy vs. opposing WRs, but who is very strong against the run, ranking top five in the league. With all that being said, Brown is a start this week, even in the shallowest of leagues, and although he doesn’t need a TD in order to make him worthy of a start, it certainly wouldn’t hurt.
Drake London, Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The second-year wideout started the season very slowly, as did the entire Falcons passing offense. Over the past few weeks, though, London has been targeted more often and has been much more involved in the overall game plan. He has seen 21 targets the past two weeks, totaling over 200 yards, and has a solid matchup this weekend against a Bucs defense that ranks 26th against the pass and 24th vs. WRs in fantasy football. London has been mostly bench depth this season in shallower leagues but has shown over the past couple of weeks that he needs to be in an active slot.
Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Week 7 Sits
Jahan Dotson, Washington Commanders @ New York Giants
He has been underwhelming in fantasy for most of the year, so him being on the sits list this week really shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. I feel the need to put him here because, with so many byes this week, there are fantasy managers who may consider using him. Please DON’T. He saw only one target last week and hasn’t caught five passes in a game since Week 1. He faces a Giants defense this week that is middle of the pack against the pass and is coming off a very strong game against a very good Bills offense.
Tutu Atwell, Los Angeles Rams vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Since the return of Cooper Kupp, Atwell has seen his usage go way down. Even with the Steelers ranking in the bottom five of the league against WRs this season, I can’t recommend using Atwell with Kupp and Puka Nacua seeing the bulk of the targets. Until we see the Rams incorporate Atwell more into the game plan, he is better left on your benches. He has just three catches for 39 yards over the past two games.
Fantasy Football Tight End Week 7 Starts
David Njoku, Cleveland Browns @ Indianapolis Colts
Whether it’s Deshaun Watson or P.J. Walker at QB this week for the Browns, Njoku is someone you should be looking to start. He has yet to find the end zone this season or top 50 yards in a game; however, he faces a Colts defense that ranks 23rd in fantasy football against the TE this season and ranks 26th in the NFL in points allowed per game. This matchup presents Njoku with a chance to have his first breakout game of the season.
Luke Musgrave, Green Bay Packers @ Denver Broncos
Musgrave has been inconsistent this season, either having a big fantasy day or contributing very little. The Packers are coming off their bye week and head to Denver to face a Broncos defense that ranks 30th in the NFL vs. the pass, 32nd in the NFL in points allowed per game, and 32nd in fantasy against the TE position. I don’t see any way that Musgrave doesn’t have a big day in this matchup.
Fantasy Football Tight End Week 7 Sits
Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions @ Baltimore Ravens
This may come as a shock considering how good the Lions' offense has been and how good LaPorta has been. The thing is, the matchup for LaPorta this week is a bad one, taking on a Ravens defense that ranks first in fantasy against opposing TEs, second in the league against the pass, and fourth in the league in points allowed per game. LaPorta is very talented, but he is still a rookie who could struggle in such a tough matchup and environment in Baltimore. He should still be started in your 14 and 16-team leagues, I would just look to bench him in the shallower formats.
Hunter Henry, New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills
The Patriots' offense is a complete disaster this season. It is hard to roster anyone except Rhamondre Stevenson at this point, and even harder to start any of them in your active roster. Henry was very good the first couple of weeks this season, but since Week 2 he has done very little, and in the past two games, he has just one catch for seven yards. I simply cannot start him, especially in this matchup vs a Bills defense that ranks seventh vs. the pass and third in fantasy football against TEs.
