Discussing the pair of Monday night football games from week 14 and fantasy football takeaways from the contests.

Week 14 of the NFL season wrapped up with a couple of upsets on Monday night. The Tennessee Titans rallied from two scores down late for a wild 28-27 win over the Miami Dolphins, while the New York Giants topped the Green Bay Packers 24-22 on a game-winning field goal as time expired.

Let’s take a look at some of the standout players from each game and what it means from a fantasy football perspective.

Titans Stun Dolphins

Tennessee rookie quarterback Will Levis threw an ugly pick-six early in the game, but bounced back in a big way.

Levis completed 23-of-38 passes for 327 yards and a touchdown after the early interception. He added 15 rushing yards on four attempts. The rookie QB also lost a fumble during the game.

It was the first time in Levis’ young career that he topped 300 passing yards. His completion percentage was low again, but the yardage is definitely something fantasy owners like to see. Our charts show Levis at just 23% owned, so there’s a pretty good chance he’s available if you need a quarterback for a possible fantasy playoff run. The good news with Levis is that his schedule ahead is very favorable. At least stash him on your bench if you have the space.

Running backs Derrick Henry and Tyjae Spears both had solid fantasy outings, just in very different ways.

King Henry only tallied 51 scrimmage yards on 18 touches, but he scored twice on the ground. Spears rushed for only 29 yards on seven attempts, but caught 6-of-8 targets for an additional 89 yards.

Henry is owned in every league, but Spears is still being shown as available in 35% of leagues. He’s getting enough touches (and racking up plenty of yards) to at least stash on the end of your bench. Most weeks, he’s worth a flex spot.

DeAndre Hopkins and Chigoziem Okonkwo led the Titans’ pass catchers.

Hopkins was targeted 12 times, hauling in seven passes for 124 yards and a touchdown. His schedule ahead is pretty favorable, so you shouldn’t have many concerns starting him the rest of the fantasy season.

Okonkwo caught 5-of-6 targets for 46 yards. It was his third straight game over 45 receiving yards. He still hasn’t scored, but at a weak TE position, he’s a decent fantasy option to target on the waiver wire. Okonkwo has a favorable schedule ahead.

The Miami offense was led by the usual suspects.

Tua Tagovailoa had a solid day, completing 23-of-33 attempts for 240 yards. He didn’t throw a touchdown or interception, but was sacked five times and fumbled twice, losing one.

Tagovailoa has been pretty average over the team’s past five games, throwing six touchdowns to three interceptions, and only topping 300 yards once. His schedule ahead is tough, and he definitely isn’t a locked in starter any more.

Raheem Mostert stole a pair of touchdowns from Tagovailoa, and Mostert also looked like the clear No. 1 back over De’Von Achane again.

Mostert got 22 touches and tallied 100 scrimmage yards to go along with his two rushing scores. He was on the field for 46 offensive snaps.

Achane got 12 touches and went for 71 scrimmage yards. In PPR leagues, he still had a solid showing as he made five catches on nine targets. Achane played 33 snaps.

Many expected Achane to take over as Miami’s lead back as he worked his way back from an injury, but that hasn’t happened. Mostert has scored five touchdowns over the past three weeks and gotten 54 touches. Over his past three games, Achane has 34 touches and two scores.

Whether this is a committee or simply riding the hot hand every week, the schedule ahead is rough for the two backs. The Miami offense is good enough to support two backs, but it’ll make the start/sit decision at least a little bit tougher for fantasy owners.

Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill were the Dolphins’ top receivers. Hill suffered an ankle injury in the contest, but did return. His status will be one to watch as the week progresses, especially on a short week for the team.

Waddle finished with 79 receiving yards on six catches and eight targets. He’s topped 50 yards and four catches in each of the past four games, but doesn’t have a touchdown over that span. His fantasy outlook would improve quite a bit if Hill were to miss any time.

Hill ended the night with 61 yards on four grabs and five targets. It was his first game under 100 yards and failing to score in three games.

As you might expect, the schedule ahead for Waddle and Hill is also tough.

Giants Topple Packers

Tommy DeVito again looked solid for the Giants in their upset win.

DeVito completed 17-of-21 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown. He didn’t throw an interception, lose a fumble or even take a sack. DeVito also rushed for 71 yards on 10 attempts.

While DeVito is a fun story, he’s become a decent fantasy option, especially in deeper leagues. He’s topped 150 passing yards in three straight games, over which time he’s thrown five touchdowns to no interceptions. If he can consistently be a rushing threat too, he’s got a chance to be a slightly above-average fantasy QB the rest of the way. His schedule is also pretty favorable, so add him if you have a need at QB.

Outside of a costly late fumble, Saquon Barkley enjoyed a great night. He ran for 86 yards and two touchdowns on 20 attempts, while adding 15 receiving yards on three catches and four targets.

New York hasn’t played with the lead a whole bunch this season, so this is a taste of what Barkley can do when that happens. His schedule ahead is pretty tough, but that shouldn’t stop fantasy owners from starting him.

Wan’Dale Robinson was the Giants’ other strong fantasy performer. He rushed for 36 yards on two attempts and caught 6-of-7 targets for 79 yards.

The Giants haven’t had a consistent pass catcher all season, so it’s worth taking a gamble on Robinson if you have a roster spot to play with to see if can keep playing this well. His schedule ahead is a decent one.

Green Bay’s Jordan Love had been fantastic over his recent games coming into the contest, but was off for much of the night. He turned it on late to finish 25-of-39 for 218 yards and a touchdown. Love was intercepted once, and also lost a fumble. The upcoming schedule for Love is a pretty average one.

Rookie receiver Jayden Reed was a huge part of the Packers’ offensive plan. He finished with 65 scrimmage yards on 12 touches. He rushed four times for 38 yards and a score, while hauling in 8-of-10 targets for 27 yards.

There weren't too many big plays for Reed, but without Christian Watson, he was heavily involved on offense. I’d add Reed if he was still available in my fantasy league. He should be starting if Watson is out, and isn’t too bad an option if Watson is playing. It’s a favorable schedule ahead for Reed and the Packers’ receivers.

Rookie tight end Tucker Kraft was the team’s best pass catcher. He caught all four of his targets for 64 yards.

It was the most receiving yards in the young career of Kraft. It could be a product of Watson being out, but at a weak TE position, Kraft might be worth stashing in case his production continues late in the season. The schedule ahead isn’t a very favorable one, however.

The Packers’ backfield was powered by AJ Dillon, but Patrick Taylor also did some nice things.

Dillon rushed 15 times for 53 yards, while catching 2-of-3 targets for 25 yards. Taylor finished with 52 scrimmage yards on six touches.

Dillon is the one you’d want to pick up between the two backs. Aaron Jones could return as early as week 15, at which point, Taylor’s touches probably dry up. I’d guess the Packers split the touches between Jones and Dillon in an effort to keep both fresh. Green Bay likes to use both in the pass game, and it’s an OK schedule ahead, so both will likely be part of start/sit decisions going forward.
