Week 16 Waiver Wire Pickups: Running Backs and Wide Receivers: Ty Chandler, Zamir White, Noah Brown, Dontayvion Wicks and More
It's time for the second round of the fantasy playoffs and these are the running backs and wide receivers on the waiver wire that can help carry you to a championship.
We finished our 15th football Sunday, and now it's time to hit the waiver wire. With Week 15 over, we are now focusing on winning our fantasy playoffs. Here, we are going to focus on the best running backs and wide receivers that may be available in your league.
Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups
Running Backs
Ty Chandler, Minnesota Vikings
Alexander Mattison was not able to play in Week 15 and Chandler finally got a shot to be a bell-cow back. He did not disappoint. Chandler looked better than Mattison has at any point this season, rushing for 132 yards and a TD on 23 carries while adding three receptions for 25 yards. Hopefully, you picked him up last week when we told you to, however, he's still available in a ton of leagues. If Mattison is ruled out again this week, Chandler is an excellent starting option. Even if Mattison does play, Chandler still deserves flex consideration. He's clearly the more dynamic back.
Zamir White, Las Vegas Raiders
White was another back who got his shot to start last week due to injury and played well. He was the back to own over Ameer Abdullah. On 13 carries he went for 69 yards and a TD while adding three catches for 16 yards. If Jacobs is back then White is unstartable, nevertheless, we don't know much about his status yet so White needs to be rostered until Jacobs' return is confirmed.
Justice Hill, Baltimore Ravens
Unfortunately, rookie sensation Keaton Mitchell went down with an ugly knee injury on Sunday Night Football. It has since been confirmed that he tore his ACL and will be out for the remainder of the season. This opens touches back up for Hill, who did at times outperform Gus Edwards this season. Don't get us wrong, Edwards is still the back-to-own, but Hill could be utilized as a desperation flex option if you're in a pinch.
Tyler Goodson, Indianapolis Colts
Jonathan Taylor was once again ruled out last week and Zack Moss injured his arm early in the second quarter. This left the backfield to the duo of Goodson and Trey Sermon. Both backs are an option, it's up to your preference. We slightly prefer Goodson as he looked a bit more explosive and more of a natural pass-catcher. However, Sermon did look tougher between the tackles and could get goal-line looks. If Moss or Taylor are active you don't want to start either back, but they certainly have value if they're splitting the backfield without the top two backs.
Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals
Brown is explosive as they come and has looked incredible in Cincy this season. He's getting more and more touches with each passing week and pops on the screen when he has the ball. He's one of those guys who just looks faster than everyone else when he has the ball like his fellow rookie running backs De'Von Achane and Keaton Mitchell. Touches are still going to be relatively limited because Joe Mixon is still the man on that team. However, Brown is capable of doing a lot with a little and even more looks may have opened up with Ja'Marr Chase expected to miss the remainder of the fantasy playoffs.
Wide Receivers
Noah Brown, Houston Texans
Brown finally had the game we had been expecting for weeks in Week 15. He caught eight of 11 targets for 82 yards and a TD. That was with Case Keenum under center. C.J. Stroud should be back this week and Brown is all he has left on the outside. Both Tank Dell and Nico Collins are injured. Robert Woods and Brown are now the last men standing and Brown is the much younger and more explosive receiver. You can flex him this week and he has week-winning upside.
Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals
This is easy math here. Chase is hurt and will miss time so Boyd is the next man up. Boyd is a proven fantasy asset and a very good veteran receiver. He's been overshadowed by Chase and Tee Higgins in recent years but is more than capable of providing you with WR3 value if you are searching for a wideout to help you survive these final two weeks.
Dontayvion Wicks, Green Bay Packers
Wicks has looked excellent in his role as a rookie for Green Bay this season and now that role could be expanding. Christian Watson has been sidelined with a hamstring injury and Jayden Reed left Week 15 with a foot injury. The Packers' passing attack has proven to supply fantasy value this season and Wicks is a sneaky good start if both those guys are forced to sit out in Week 16.
