After three days of free agency, the 2025 league is starting to take shape. Some teams have made franchise-altering moves (the Geno Smith trade accomplished that for both the Seahawks and Raiders), and others have been fine-tuning rosters that are already strong (how much better can the Eagles get?).

The fantasy football landscape has also shifted, with big-name wide receivers swapping teams (with more still to come) and a handful of quarterbacks finding new homes. There's still plenty that will happen before fantasy draft season, but the first wave of moves have mostly taken place.

Let's look at some of the best fantasy players to change teams since the season ended. This is the All-Pro fantasy team of players who have switched teams since the season ended. There will also be honorable mentions, but this won't include everyone. This is more about the guys in new places who will matter most when the fantasy season hits.

Most stats below are from NFL.com. Fantasy points and rankings are from Fantasy Pros.

Quarterback

Justin Fields, New York Jets

Fields' running ability makes him a tantalizing fantasy player. He started the first six games for the Steelers last season, and in that time, Fields was QB6. He was also QB6 in 2022 despite missing three games and QB18 in 2023 while missing four games; that latter number isn't as impressive, but his average would have put him again at QB6 if he would have played every game.

Does that mean Fields is destined for a QB6 finish in 2025? That's asking a lot, but he will likely be the unquestioned starter for the Jets and will get plenty of chances to make plays with both his arm and legs. Fields has the makings of a possible top-10 fantasy quarterback.

Honorable Mention: Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks; Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts; Geno Smith, Las Vegas Raiders

These guys are all just streamers depending on the matchup. Darnold excelled with the Vikings last year, but it was his first season at that level; he's likely to put up worse stats in 2025. Jones must first beat out Anthony Richardson for the starting job, but if he does, he will be an option some weeks because he also runs the ball. Smith has been in the top 20 each of the past three seasons, topping out as QB5 in 2022. He doesn't run as much, but Smith will have a good set of pass catchers, especially if the Raiders add a top receiver.

Running Back

Kenneth Gainwell, Pittsburgh Steelers

Gainwell's ultimate value won't be determined until we see what Pittsburgh's running back group looks like. Jaylen Warren is a restricted free agent, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him return. Najee Harris is gone (more on that soon), so there are carries available, but the team might not be done adding talent.

Harris was a first-round pick, and while they might not go fishing for another back that early, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Pittsburgh try to grab a starter on Day 2. This is seen as a good running back class, so there will be multiple chances to capitalize and find cheap talent.

Gainwell has never been more than a part-time player, topping out at 84 carries in any season. His efficiency is blah (4.2 yards per carry), and he has averaged less than two receptions per game in his career. It's hard to picture him really being an impact fantasy player.

Najee Harris, Los Angeles Chargers

Speaking of Pittsburgh's old RB, Harris took a modest one-year deal with the Chargers. I was sure someone was going to overpay Harris, but the league appears to be smarter than they let on. Harris has averaged just 3.9 yards per carry in his career, topping out at 4.1 in any single season.

So why is he here? Harris ate up volume through each of his first four seasons. He never missed a game, topped 1,000 yards every season, and scored between six and eight touchdowns each year. He is likely to rack up numbers again.

Fantasy value isn't real value. Though I don't like Harris as a real-life player, he's likely to again find volume with the Chargers unless they add a high-level back in the draft. Harris will be a decent mid-round fantasy pick again.

Honorable Mention: Rico Dowdle, Carolina Panthers; Elijah Mitchell, Kansas City Chiefs; Javonte Williams, Dallas Cowboys

Dowdle signed a one-year contract to complement Chuba Hubbard. There will be carries available if Hubbard gets hurt, but Dowdle is otherwise a low-floor player. Any back joining the Chiefs has a chance to find the end zone on any given week; Isiah Pacheco will likely lead the way, but he was hurt in 2024, and Mitchell could get some run. Williams has been a below-average back since returning from a major knee injury several years back, and he's probably going to do more of the same, providing limited fantasy value.

Wide Receiver

Davante Adams, Los Angeles Rams

Wide receiver has been the hot fantasy position this offseason. Adams was probably the best receiver in football at his peak, and he showed last season that he can still go. He won't see as many targets as Puka Nacua, but Adams will get his chances to make big plays downfield and in the red zone.

Matthew Stafford will be the best quarterback Adams has played with since Green Bay Aaron Rodgers. A team that went to the playoffs and won a game with a compromised Cooper Kupp should expect a better top-end receiving group, especially with Nacua another year older (and hopefully healthy).

Adams will be drafted as a top-20 fantasy receiver; he might fight for the top 10 depending on how the preseason looks.

DK Metcalf, Pittsburgh Steelers

Metcalf requested a trade from Seattle, but when Smith was sent to the Raiders, it made sense to think Metcalf might want to stay with an upgrade at QB possibly coming. Instead, the Seahawks shipped off the veteran receiver to Pittsburgh, where he signed a contract averaging $30 million per year.

The only problem is that the Steelers don't have a quarterback. Rodgers and Russell Wilson are the most likely candidates right now, but others, such as Kirk Cousins, Richardson, or even a rookie, could be the ultimate solution. Time will tell on this one.

No matter who it is, though, that passer will have Metcalf and George Pickens to throw to on the outside. That's a nice arsenal. The eventual Steelers quarterback will have fantasy value some weeks, as will Metcalf most weeks.

Deebo Samuel Sr., Washington Commanders

Samuel finally moved on after several years of consternation in San Francisco. He joins a team that is going to be a sexy pick to win the NFC East and maybe even advance to the Super Bowl, and the veteran playmaker will surely be part of the gameplan.

Terry McLaurin was the only WR on Washington with more than 506 receiving yards last season. The team's second-, third-, and fourth-leading receivers are either on another team already or still unsigned. Tight end Zach Ertz, the team's second-best receiver among all positions last year, is back, but he will turn 35 during the season.

Samuel is going to get the chance to catch the ball, run the ball, and feature in the screen game, and he will likely be a good fantasy player on a team that will put up a lot of points.

Honorable Mention: DeAndre Hopkins, Baltimore Ravens; Demarcus Robinson, San Francisco 49ers

Names like Kupp, Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, and others will find homes eventually, but there's still a glut of players who might stay unsigned until after the draft. Hopkins is a former superstar who is in his final act. He still made some plays last year, but it happens on an irregular basis now.

Robinson set career highs in 2024 in both yards per reception (16.3) and touchdowns (seven). He could be an interesting complementary player in San Fran, especially if Brandon Aiyuk needs to ease into the lineup after a major knee injury.

Tight End

Evan Engram, Denver Broncos

There wasn't a ton of talent set to switch teams at tight end, but the Jaguars freed up cap space by releasing Engram, and he quickly found a new home with the Broncos. Denver coach Sean Payton has created dangerous tight ends before (Jimmy Graham was close to Gronk for a few years), and Engram (more of a receiving threat than blocker) could be the next guy to take another jump forward.

Engram was a volume hog in 2022-23, especially the latter year, when he racked up 114 catches, 963 yards, and four touchdowns. Injuries ruined his 2024, but there's reason to hope for bigger things again this season. Engram will be an interesting mid- to late-round fantasy pick.
