The New England Patriots offense got into a groove in the first quarter, as they were able to score three touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns came courtesy of the Bailey Zappe-Hunter Henry connection.
The first touchdown pass came with Zappe finding Henry in the back of the end zone for a score to give the Patriots a 14-3 lead. This was Henry’s third receiving touchdown of the season and his first since November 5 against the Washington Commanders.
It wasn’t long after that play before the two connected on another touchdown. This time, it concluded a four-play, 59-yard drive that took 2:10 off the clock. Not only is Henry celebrating a birthday, but he was also celebrating his best first half of the season

Game News
Former New England Patriots corner Ty Law bluntly stated his feelings ahead of the Patriots-Pittsburgh Steelers matchup on Thursday night. It’s safe to say Law is ready to move on to the 2024 season.
New England has struggled this season, as they currently sit with a 2-10 record. Furthermore, quarterback Mac Jones is no longer the starter, and the team has elected to go with Bailey Zappe over the last couple games.
The Patriots currently hold the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, and that has many looking towards the future
Bailey Zappe is cooking in primetime.
The New England Patriots quarterback finished a shocking first half against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football with 196 passing yards and three touchdowns.
Things started off fast with Zappe linking up with running back Ezekiel Elliott for a touchdown on the first drive of the game, before coming back with consecutive touchdown passes to tight end Hunter Henry.
Zappe-Mania is running wild in Pittsburgh with the Patriots down to their bare bones at receiver. DeVante Parker, Demario Douglas and Kayshon Boutte were all ruled out for the game. But that hasn’t stopped Zappe from lighting up a struggling Steelers defense
The New England Patriots got the scoring going early to open up Thursday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Running back Ezekiel Elliott scored the first touchdown of the game, but not on the ground. Instead, he connected with quarterback Bailey Zappe for a receiving touchdown.
It was Elliott’s first receiving touchdown of the season and Zappe’s first passing touchdown of the year. The touchdown itself came at the end of an eight-play, 75-yard drive that took 3:48 off the clock
Before Jalen Reagor laces them up Thursday, there will be player prop bets available for the 8:15 PM ET kickoff, live on Amazon Prime Video. Reagor’s New England Patriots (2-10) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-5) take the field in Week 14 at Acrisure Stadium.

New England Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe wants to improve on his first start, as New England looks to end their losing streak.
When speaking with to the media, the second-year signal-caller indicated that he would get the start against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night, without saying so directly. That has caused him to reflect a bit on his performance on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers and how he can be better.
It was a decent outing with him going 13-of-25 for 141 passing yards and no interceptions. He averaged 5.6 yards per throw and had his highest quarterback rating of the season
The New England Patriots gave the Pittsburgh Steelers all sorts of problems in the first half of Thursday’s game.
Mitchell Trubisky has struggled to get into a rhythm with his receivers, and in the second quarter, Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers snagged an interception against the backup quarterback and ran the ball back to the red zone.
The boo birds filled Acrisure Stadium after the play, and Steelers fans started chanting “Mason Rudolph.” It’s a shocking turn of events considering the Patriots didn’t even score a touchdown in last week’s home loss to the Los Angeles Chargers
The Patriots didn't use quarterback Malik Cunningham in last Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Chargers, but he could find his way onto the field against the Steelers on Thursday night.
On Feb. 3, 2019, the Pats won their sixth championship under Bill Belichick. It's been a slow descent to their current 2-10 record. Here's how it happened.
Steelers running back Najee Harris did not practice this week and was listed as questionable, but he is dressed.
Quarterback Bailey Zappe finished 19-of-28 for 240 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, leading his team to a 21-18 victory over the Kenny Pickett-less Pittsburgh Steelers to snap New England's five-game losing streak.
Communication is key on both sides of the ball, which was lacking once Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Elandon Roberts went down with a groin injury last week.
Once Roberts was ruled out, Mykal Walker, signed to the practice squad on Oct. 30, had lead critical responsibilities with the green dot and communication dropped off. To combat this, if Roberts (questionable on injury report) can’t go, the green dot will be given to Minkah Fitzpatrick.
“If Elandon is not the guy, it would probably be Minkah from a hierarchy of green dots, if you will,” Tomlin said in his weekly Q&A session with Bob Labriola of Steelers.com
Myles Jack got denied an opportunity to suit up for the Pittsburgh Steelers for the second consecutive week. Instead, they chose to elevate Kyron Johnson, as they did for the Week 13 Arizona Cardinals game.
Johnson, signed by the Steelers on Oct. 10, was drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL draft and played primarily on special teams. That’s been his role thus far for Pittsburgh — last week he played 13 snaps on special teams and zero on defense.
We have elevated LB Kyron Johnson to the Active/Inactive roster from the practice squad. @BordasLawhttps://t.co/CTdjenHAd
The last thing the Pittsburgh Steelers needed was to have to deal with more injuries. But on the opening drive against the New England Patriots, outside linebacker T.J. Watt took a huge knee to the head making a tackle on Patriots running back Ezekiel Elliott that forced him out of the game.
Watt has since come back in but he’s been in and out of the lineup and in the medical tent as the team continued evaluation of his injury. Watt definitely isn’t playing like he’s 100 percent but as long as he can play, you know he will stay out there. The Steelers deactivated outside linebacker Markus Golden for this game so Pittsburgh is very thin at the position
If the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to come back and beat the New England Patriots, they will have to do it without outside linebacker Alex Highsmith. Highsmith suffered a neck injury early in the first half and after initially being questionable has been downgraded to OUT for the rest of the game.
This is in addition to fellow starting outside linebacker T.J. Watt who took a huge hit to the head on the opening defensive drive and has been on and off the field, and you can see he is not playing at 100 percent
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky has gotten off to a terrible start and Twitter is not holding back. Here are some of the best reactions so far
The Pittsburgh Steelers elevated just one player from the practice squad this afternoon, and it wasn’t an offensive lineman.
Pittsburgh’s starting guard and center, Isaac Seumalo and Mason Cole, have been nursing shoulder and neck injuries this week and had questionable designations on the team’s final injury report on Wednesday.
Cole had an awful performance versus the Arizona Cardinals with several errant snaps. Should he play, Mitch Trubisky and the Steelers’ offense should hope Cole cleans that up, or it could be a long night
