The Seattle Seahawks announced a couple of practice squad elevations on Saturday ahead of today’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. Recently re-signed third-string quarterback Sean Mannion has been elevated as a contingency in case starter Geno Smith is unable to play. Smith is listed as questionable with elbow and groin injuries. The Seahawks also elevated linebacker Patrick O’Connell, who gives them some extra depth in case Jordyn Brooks is inactive – he is also listed as questionable.
Here’s the team’s updated 53-man roster by jersey number (Dec. 10)

The Seattle Seahawks lost to the San Francisco 49ers once again today, falling on the road by a score of 28-16. However, they did get some surprise strong performances from role players such as safety Julian Love and tight end Colby Parkinson.
Here are the highlights for the Seahawks this week
If the Seahawks will be ending a three-game losing streak on Sunday, they'll be doing it with Drew Lock at quarterback.
The Seahawks may be forced to finish this game without their best young defender.
Watch rookie cornerback Devon Witherspoon make another nice pass breakup but take a shot in the back from George Kittle, who was taking a shot in the back from Jamal Adams at the same time.

The Seahawks’ inactives list won’t come out for another five hours or so, but we already know at least one name that will be on the list. Defensive end Frank Clark apparently did not travel with the team to Santa Clara.
The team gave him a non-injury related designation.

The NFL announced yesterday that Seahawks safeties Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs have both been fined $10,927 for unsportsmanlike conduct in last week’s game against the Cowboys.
No flags were thrown, but apparently both fines stem from this one play.

The Seahawks have lost four in a row for the first time under Pete Carroll. Here are three impressions from the game.
The 49ers got a big play from Brandon Aiyuk late in the third quarter of their Week 14 game against the Seahawks. Quarterback Brock Purdy bought time to his left and found Aiyuk deep up the left side for 45 yards. That catch gave Aiyuk a new career high in receiving yards.
Aiyuk entered Sunday with 927 receiving yards. After his 45-yard grab in the third quarter he was up to 96 yards in Sunday’s game, putting him at 1,023 for the season. That eclipses the career high 1,015 he posted last season.
What’s remarkable about Aiyuk is that he’s doing all this work with relatively low volume. Last year he needed 78 catches to get to his career high in yards. That 45-yard catch was only his 55th of the season
After a quiet start to the second half in Santa Clara, the final seconds of the third quarter and the start of the fourth quarter provided fireworks for the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.
Following a Drew Lock touchdown pass to Colby Parkinson, Brock Purdy looked to his tight end to answer back against the Seahawks. To start the final frame, Purdy slung a pass to George Kittle and let the former All-Pro tight end do the rest.
Despite being held by Seattle defensive back Julian Love, Kittle weaved through the Seahawks’ defense for a 44-yard touchdown scamper
After blowing the doors off the Philadelphia Eagles in a highly-anticipated rematch of last season’s NFC Championship, the San Francisco 49ers showed no signs of slowing down in a divisional matchup with the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Brock Purdy continued his MVP-worthy campaign with a career-high performance through the air. The 49ers’ young passer scorched the Seahawks’ secondary, throwing for 368-yards on 19-of-27 passing to go along with two interceptions and an interception.
Purdy spread it around the yard with three different pass catchers, all recording over 75 yards receiving. Purdy hit both Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk for passes over 45-yards
If you tuned in late to the San Francisco 49ers home contest against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14, there’s a chance you missed an opening highlight from Christian McCaffrey.
It didn’t take long for McCaffrey to get going on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. On the very first play of the game, McCaffrey ripped through the Seahawks’ defense for a blazing 72-yard run.

Eagles security chief Dom DiSandro has been barred by the NFL from being on the sideline Sunday night against the Cowboys after he was ejected in last week's game for a scuffle with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw, the team announced Saturday.
With a pair of touchdown passes on the board from Brock Purdy, the San Francisco 49ers defense took over to close out the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14 on Sunday.
Behind a fiery pass rush attack from Randy Gregory and Nick Bosa, Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock was under pressure. With Bosa and the 49ers’ pass rush lurking, Lock heaved a ball deep down the field toward DK Metcalf.
With the ball fluttering through the air, Fred Warner leaped through the air for an acrobatic interception. After Warner came up with the interception, he tossed the ball to Dre Greenlaw while Metcalf attempted to tackle him
The 49ers were beat up going into a Week 14 matchup with the Seahawks, and they didn’t leave it much healthier. During the game they dealt with a slew of injuries, and head coach Kyle Shanahan gave an update after the game.
Here are the injuries from Sunday that Shanahan mentioned in his postgame press conference
The 49ers got some bad news in the first quarter of Sunday’s game vs. the Seahawks. Cornerback Charvarius Ward is officially questionable to return after suffering a groin injury.
He went down after missing a tackle on Seahawks WR DK Metcalf. Ward stayed down on the sideline momentarily and never returned to the game.
Deommodore Lenoir moved from the slot to the outside to fill in for Ward. Samuel Womack and Isaiah Oliver have both seen time in the slot.

Taybor Pepper had a blunt message for the Seahawks star.
The injury bug caught up with the 49ers heading into their Week 14 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. Of their seven inactive players, five are out because of injury.
Here’s who won’t suit up for San Francisco:
QB Brandon Allen (QB3)DL Robert Beal Jr.DL Arik Armstead (knee, foot)TE Ross Dwelley (ankle)RB Elijah Mitchell (knee)CB Darrell Luter Jr. (hamstring)OL Spencer Burford (knee)
Mitchell and Burford were both considered doubtful going into Sunday and now they’ve been officially ruled out
