Text from an NFL GM: “Jayden Daniels is already the most poised quarterback in the entire NFC. I've never seen anything like this for a rookie.”

Commanders TE Zach Ertz is being evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return tonight.

Commanders rookie CB Mike Sainristil is the first player to record at least two interceptions in a playoff game since Barry Wilburn did it in Super Bowl XXII vs. DEN. Sainristil also did it in Michigan, where he starred for the Wolverines.

Commanders OL Sam Cosmi has been downgraded to out due to a knee injury.

my god what a stiff arm by Terry McLaurin

From The Insiders on @NFLNetwork: #Commanders K Zane Gonzalez joined the show to discuss his late-game heroics and educate us on his battles with OCD. pic.x.com/80kKzu1fSL

The ref missed Dyami Brown being down there? How?

Commanders WR Olamide Zaccheaus is questionable to return tonight due to a groin injury.

Jeremy Chinn seals it. And Frankie Luvu had a huge game.

in the last 6 minutes of this game: LaPorta's one-handed TD McLaurin 58-yard TD Quan Martin Pick 6 Jamo 61-yard reverse TD Jayden dime to Dyami for 38

Lots of Seahawks ties on the Commanders but specifically on the players side of things, dope to see Bobby Wagner playing in another NFC title game. Nick Bellore out there doing this thing, too.

The Commanders … • Placed LB Jordan Magee on IR • Activated TE Colson Yankoff from IR • Elevated DE Andre Jones Jr. and CB Kevon Seymour from the practice squad

Former 49er Jeremy McNichols. Adam Peters brought him to Washington

Dorance Armstrong with the strip-sack. Recovered by Frankie Luvu.

Commanders force a three-and-out, thanks to the run stop by Fowler and coverage by Marshon Lattimore.

Tress Way sighting. Despite the rust of rarely punting, he landed this one inside the Lions' 10. Downed at the 9.

Strong 3-and-out start for the Commanders' defense. Huge TFL by Dante Fowler on 2nd down. Marshon Lattimore stayed on one side.

My bad you right. Salute Tyler Ott too
@DougyFresh43: @MikeDugar Don't forget Tyler Ott at LS too! 🤣

4th-and-1 for Washington – direct snap to Marcus Mariota he's stuffed. Loss of 1 yard. Lions ball.

False start on Tyler Biadasz turns a 3rd and 9 into a 3rd and 14 for Washington

In preparation for Saturday night’s NFC divisional round playoff game in Detroit, the Washington Commanders have made four roster moves.
The Commanders have placed LB Jordan Magee on the injured reserve list. They have also activated TE Colson Yankoff off of the injured reserve list. Thirdly, the Commanders have elevated two defensive players, DE Andre Jones Jr. and CB Kevon Seymour, from the practice squad.
Seymour was activated last week as well and played, as the Commanders determined to leave CB Michael Davis as inactive against the Bucs. So, reason says, that will likely occur again against the Lions tonight

The NFC Divisional Round has K.J. Osborn and the Washington Commanders taking on the Detroit Lions at 8:00 PM ET on Saturday, Jan. 18.

And now this: Teddy Bridgewater is in the game for the #Lions. Jared Goff is being evaluated for a concussion.

Teddy Bridgewater is now in at QB for the #Lions. Unbelievably.

Prayers: #Lions CB Amik Robertson is questionable to return with an elbow injury. It doesn't look good 🙏 pic.x.com/qRLEUpcqzx

Jahmyr Gibbs' first four touches: -15-yard run -23-yard catch -9-yard run -1-yard run TD Lions lead, 7-0

Sam LaPorta with a highlight reel, one-handed catch in the end zone. Touchdown, Lions. Picked him as my X-factor in this game. Detroit 14, Washington 10.

Huge play from Kindle Vildor on the third-down pass breakup. Got a feeling we're gonna need him a lot down the stretch here.

Melifonwu is questionable to return with a hamstring injury, and now Brian Branch is slow to get up again.

That's a hell of a catch by Sam LaPorta for a TD, one play after he made a great block (along with Amon-Ra St. Brown) to spring Kalif Raymond for a 15-yard gain

Goff overthrew Tim Patrick. Picked and returned for a TD by the Commanders. Oh boy.

How Detroit scored: Jameson Williams: 19-yard catch Jahmyr Gibbs: 15-yard run Jahmyr Gibbs: 23-yard run Jahmyr Gibbs: 9-yard run David Montgomery: 4-yard run Jahmyr Gibbs: 1-yard rush TD

RT: Lions have no real key free agents beyond Carlton Davis and Marcus Davenport, both of whom missed major time (nothing new for either) with injuries. Get healthy, augment the very strong core and they're still great. Zero worries long-term. But this loss is a brutal one

Lions had 12 men on the field on fourht-and-2. Trevor Nowaske came running in, no one came off. First down Commanders. Huge mistake

Lions will have first-and-goal from the Washington 2 coming up after a quick pass to Kalif Raymond.

Yeah, possibly. The Lions also didn't have to create a roster spot for Rakestraw, though, so they could just be waiting.
Still, there is certainly some hope.
@RGA_418: @Lions @PrideOfDetroit This is good news for Pat O'Connor

Kerby Joseph called for PI in coverage against Terry McLaurin.

RT: That error was one of the Lions' injuries. Multiple players (Morice Norris, Starling Thomas-Oliver) in who are not usually in. Nobody was certain who was supposed to leave.

MVP of that 4th down play was Josh Paschal. Check out the perfect dive in the A-gap pic.x.com/tL1AFVC4hw

When the Detroit Lions lost defensive end Aidan Hutchinson earlier this season, fans felt cursed. Detroit was picked as one of the favorites to play in Super Bowl LIX next month, and now, the Lions would have to do it without one of their top players.
The Lions quickly proved they’re resilient. Led by a juggernaut offense, Detroit has dealt with injuries all season and managed to remain competitive defensively. Detroit finished the regular season 15-2 and held the NFC’s No. 1 overall seed in the playoffs

The Detroit Lions did some last-minute tinkering with the roster ahead of Saturday night’s matchup in the NFC Divisional Round with the Washington Commanders.
The Lions officially ruled out cornerback Ennis Rakestraw. The rookie CB was listed as questionable as he attempts to return from injured reserve. He’s been out for several weeks with a hamstring injury.
Detroit elevated two defensive players from the practice squad for Saturday’s game. Defensive tackle Chris Smith and cornerback Stantley Thomas-Oliver for the game. Both have prior elevations, though that counter is reset for the postseason. Thomas-Oliver figures to plug the injury-related hole on special teams created by Rakestraw’s inability to get back and the recent losses of Emmanuel Moseley and Khalil Dorsey
