I remember calling a couple team sources when the #Jets drafted Isaiah Davis after Braelon Allen. Didn't understand why they needed another RB after taking a RB? Was told multiple coaches and scouts were slamming the table for him. They believed he had a ton of potential & dual value on offense and special teams. Saw some of that running potential on this drive. Nice burst up the middle.

I have no idea what that's going to be ruled for Malachi Corley, but he gets some nice yards-after-the-whatever-that-was. He's such a physical player. Needs to fine tune his route running, which will take time, but you can see what the #Jets love. One of the few WRs in the NFL that truly runs to contact. They'll design ways to get ball in his hands this year until he takes on a more consistent role next.

I thought Jason Brownlee had a chance to push Allen Lazard for playing time this year. He's had a quiet camp, though (largely because of the injury). He's back, healthy and starting to gain momentum. That touchdown grab (also a gorgeous throw from Peasley) might just jumpstart his summer. The #Jets remain high on Brownlee. He just needs to get going.

You're going to learn that the more you watch Tyrod Taylor, #Jets fans: He holds the ball a good long while. That's among the reasons he gets dinged up sometimes -- leads to unneeded hits. He also throws a gorgeous deep ball.

Jarrick Bernard-Converse has had a pretty nice game today. I've been impressed with him. #Commanders QBs seem to be testing him a lot. He's standing up pretty well. The one mess up was the 42-yard completion from Jayden Daniels, but that was more of an incredible throw than poor coverage. Daniels put that ball in the only place it could be. Bernard-Converse needs to carry this through the final two games, but, at this point, looks worthy of a roster spot. #Jets

Will McDonald just had a ridiculous spin move to get into the backfield and hit Jeff Driskel. He's not big enough to be a factor in run game yet, but can still make presence felt, like that, as a rusher. I genuinely believe the #Jets should explore the following front come Week 1: Will McDonald, Jermaine Johnson, Quinnen Williams, Haason Reddick. That grouping would give an offense fits. So much pass-rushing potential on the field at once. They did call McDonald for roughing the passer, though. Potentially for driving him into the ground?

The Washington Commanders and New York Jets are tied 10-10 at halftime of their Week 1 preseason game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels scored on the opening drive to give Washington a 7-0 lead. The Jets’ only touchdown came when quarterback Andrew Peasley found Jason Brownlee for a 12-yard touchdown.

Washington kicker Riley Patterson missed a 39-yard field goal attempt, while Ramiz Ahmed connected on another attempt to make it 10-7. Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein tied it just before halftime.

The Washington Commanders kick off the 2024 preseason on Saturday against the New York Jets. On Thursday, the Commanders and Jets held a joint practice in Florham Park, New Jersey, which gave us a preview of Saturday’s game.

By all accounts, the Jets outperformed Washington in the joint practice. The Commanders were sloppy in all three phases, although rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels had some good moments. Washington struggled the most in defending New York star receiver Garrett Wilson.

The plan to bring along Mike Williams will be pragmatic. The New York Jets wide receiver is just returning to the practice field this week.

Last year in just three games played due to an ACL injury, Williams had 19 catches for 249 yards and a touchdown. But in 2022, he had 63 catches for 895 yards and four touchdowns.

Twice in his seven-season NFL career, Williams has 1,000 receiving yards.

Williams was activated this week and he saw the practice field on Thursday according to head coach Robert Saleh. It was the first time Williams has been on the field since signing this offseason with the Jets
