#Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins has missed field goals today from 51 yards, then from 32 yards (but was bailed by a penalty), and now from 27 yards. What in the world.

Cleveland Browns starting left tackle Dawand Jones exited the game against the Saints during the second quarter.
Jones suffered an ankle injury during the two-minute drill of this game. Jones was injured after a Browns’ offensive lineman fell on his left ankle. Jones was carted off the field with an air cast over his leg.
Jones moved to the left side after Browns’ longtime tackle, Jedrick Wills Jr., suffered a setback from his knee injury. Wills was downgraded to out before the game after his knee injury flared up. Backup swing tackle Germain Ifedi has replaced Jones in the lineup

The Adam Peters effect is real. Since Peters was hired in January and reshaped the Commanders’ roster, other NFL teams are now signing players off Washington’s practice squad.
This week, the Cleveland Browns signed undrafted rookie cornerback Chigozie Anusiem off Washington’s practice squad to their 53-man roster. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound corner played collegiately at California before finishing his career at Colorado State.
After going undrafted in the 2024 NFL draft, the Commanders gave Anusiem a $50K signing bonus and a $300K base salary guarantee to sign with them as an undrafted free agent

The Cleveland Browns will have to take on the New Orleans Saints, and likely the rest of their 2024 opponents, without Pro Bowl linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.
Sitting at 2-7, the Browns’ season is effectively over as they now need to evaluate their younger players. However, Owusu-Koramoah and rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. have both been placed on Injured Reserve and will miss substantial time, throwing a wrench into that plan.
When can the Browns expect their Pro Bowl linebacker back? Let’s check out the latest updates on the injured linebacker

The New Orleans Saints made a few roster moves ahead of Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns. Pro Bowl center Erik McCoy and linebacker Nephi Sewell have been activated from injured reserve and the physically unable to perform lists, while wide receiver Jermaine Jackson has been waived to make room.
The biggest move was McCoy returning to the lineup. McCoy emerged as arguably the second-most important offensive piece when he went out with injury. But Sewell had a key role to play defensively last year on passing downs until he went down with a serious knee injury. Now he’s making his debut and McCoy is returning to anchor the offensive line

The New Orleans Saints first drive of the game was the true Taysom Hill experience and it was capped off by a rushing touchdown by Hill.
The tight end has always been a Swiss Army Knife. It wasn’t until recently that he got a true position instead of just being a football player. He runs, catches and throws the football. He did all three on the opening drive.
To make things more impressive, it was on three consecutive drives. Klint Kubiak dialed up a reverse pass with Hill throwing to Kevin Austin. The next play, Derek Carr threw the ball to Hill. That was the second target of the game for Hill but his first catch

Star receiver Alvin Kamara and the New Orleans Saints face the Cleveland Browns on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at Caesars Superdome.
The Browns rank second-worst in total offense (274.4 yards per game), but they’ve been a little better on defense, ranking 15th with 328.2 yards allowed per contest. The Saints are generating 22.7 points per game on offense this season (16th-ranked). Meanwhile, they are surrendering 24.6 points per game (23rd-ranked) on defense.

Tyrann Mathieu isn’t about to retire from pro football and hang up his cleats, but the New Orleans Saints does have a plan in mind for what’s next. He was as frustrated by his LSU Tigers’ loss to their longtime rival Florida Gators as any other fan on Saturday night, and that got Mathieu to drop some hints about his future.
In a couple of since-deleted tweets on Twitter, Mathieu said he “cannot wait to get to Baton Rouge & coach,” and that he’s eager to “trade in my cleats for turf shoes.” But he has some unfinished business with the Saints to deal with first. Mathieu added he wants to “play at least 2 more years” before making that transition

The New Orleans Saints are expected to have their full compliment of linebackers against the Cleveland Browns. While Demario Davis and Willie Gay were healthy, Pete Werner was managing a hand injury that kept him out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday.
At Friday’s practice, Werner was able to get on the field in a limited capacity. That didn’t add any certainty to his status for Sunday, as Werner was listed as a game time decision. Per NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill, the expectation is Werner will play
