The Bears gave up several third-and-long plays in the 30-12 loss to the Vikings on Monday night. This 17-yard reception to Aaron Jones on third-and-17 was one of those plays and the most frustrating. The reason for that was because the Vikings hit the Bears with a similar type of play in their first matchup three weeks prior. At Soldier Field in Week 12, Jones gained 14 yards on third-and-13. Here are the two plays.
No it was not.
@alec_lewis: All I know from watching the Vikings-Bears film is that Kiran Amegadjie probably never ever ever ever wants to see Jonathan Greenard again. That was not a fair fight.
Despite coming into the season with low expectations from most pundits, the Minnesota Vikings started the 2024 NFL season on fire. They came out and shocked most people, starting the season off with five straight wins, including wins over some impressive teams like the Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers.
Then the wheels momentarily fell off, and the Vikings lost two straight games. Now, however, the Vikings have managed to right the ship and reeled off seven straight wins. A large portion of that is due to the emergence of wide receive Jordan Addison as a legitimate complement to perennial All-Pro Justin Jefferson
It’s never a good idea to mock the Skol Chant if you’re an opposing player — look at Bears’ safety Tyrique Stevenson. In the second quarter of the Monday Night Football game against Chicago, Vikings’ quarterback Sam Darnold threw an interception in which Stevenson came down with the ball. But the Bears were trailing by 10 points.
That didn’t stop Stevenson from mocking the chant, though. He wasn’t the first player to do so and likely won’t be the last. But like Monday night showed — it’s not a great idea. The Vikings would crush the Bears 30-12 and move their record to 12-2 on the season
Not only are the Vikings rolling with a 12-2 record after defeating the Bears 30-12 on Monday Night Football, but Minnesota has a unique streak going. Following Jonathan Greenard’s forced fumble and Blake Cashman recovering it, the Vikings have now forced a turnover in all 14 games this season.
It’s the first time since 1992 (16 games) that a team has forced a turnover in every game. But in 2024, the Vikings are the only team who has forced a turnover in every game. Defensive coordinator has been a mad genius for the Minnesota defense. Flores knows how to disguise his coverages, and the individual players have really bought into what Flores is teaching
The Minnesota Vikings got a gift last Sunday when the Detroit Lions lost to the Buffalo Bills. That loss gave the Vikings control of their own destiny not only in the NFC North but in the NFC playoff picture at large. With that loss, all the Vikings have to do is win out and they’ll take home the division title and the number one seed in the NFC.
They held up their end of the bargain on Monday night with a convincing win over fellow division rivals the Chicago Bears. But the schedule for the Vikings gets much tougher from here on out, and it starts this Sunday with a matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle has some concerns heading into the game, however. Namely, the health of their starting quarterback, Geno Smith
The 2025 NFL Pro Bowl Games will take place in Orlando early February. The 8-6 Seattle Seahawks currently have three players within the top 10 of positional voting. The following Seahawks are receiving fan recognition to potentially participate in this year’s annual all-star event.
Versatile safety Julian Love has been his usual consistent self for Mike Macdonald’s defense this season. The former Notre Dame standout has recorded a team-high 96 tackles, eight pass breakups, and two interceptions this year. Love is versatile, playing both near the line of scrimmage, and on the back-end. He’s attempting to make his second consecutive Pro Bowl appearance
