Backfield Shift Limits Allgeier's Fantasy Appeal in Arizona
Tyler Allgeier enters the season in a new-look Arizona backfield, operating as a change-of-pace runner behind highly touted rookie Jeremiyah Love, whom the Cardinals selected with the No. 3 overall pick. While Allgeier sits ahead of veteran James Conner on the depth chart, our models project him for a complementary role rather than a feature workload, limiting his weekly fantasy floor.
Our projections peg Allgeier for 105 rush attempts, 447 rushing yards, and four touchdowns, alongside a minor contribution of 14 receptions for 92 yards. This projected output reflects his history as a reliable rotation back, though his path to a true workhorse ceiling is heavily blocked unless Love misses time.
In PPR leagues, managers are cooling on Allgeier's outlook. His ADP has steadily slipped from the 109 range in early May down to around 124 in mid-June, following the rookie draft hype. At this deflated price, we view him as a decent handcuff value rather than a high-priority target, as his current 45% ownership reflects a low-risk bench stash.
