At the start of new fantasy basketball week, let's look at some waiver wire options.

These players were all pulled from the FantasySP Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups page. Check back later in the week for more waiver options!

Gary Trent Jr. Fantasy Outlook

Trent is the most-added fantasy player at the time of publication. He's up 14.82% and rostered in 29.73% of leagues now.

I wrote about Trent being a waiver option after the injury to Giannis Antetokounmpo. He's delivered good numbers in the past four games, which lines up with Giannis being out.

Over the past four games, Trent is averaging 16.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.5 steals across 27.1 minutes. He's coming off the bench, but is producing plenty to roster and utilize in some fantasy leagues.

I'd be all for adding and starting Trent in deep leagues until Antetokounmpo returns, or until Trent's playing time or production falls off. Take advantage of things now, because this isn't likely going to last all season.

Other Bucks on the Rise

With Antetokounmpo out, Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis are also on the rise. Lopez is up 3.4% and rostered in 96.55% of leagues now, while Portis sits at 95.15% rostered after a 2.98% bump.

Portis just returned from a little absence, but has gotten right back into the swing of things. In three games, he's averaging 22.3 points, 15 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.3 blocks across 33.3 minutes.

He should be rostered in all fantasy leagues at least until Giannis returns. Portis' fantasy value will likely fall when Antetokounmpo is back, but he could get enough playing time the rest of the season to remain a keeper in standard leagues.

Lopez has played in three of the four games that Giannis has missed, averaging 29.6 minutes, 15 points, 4.3 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.3 steals and 1.3 blocks a game.

His numbers aren't as good as the ones Portis is posting, but his minutes per game is where fantasy owners are hoping they would be. I think Portis is the guy to target between the two, but Lopez is also a pretty solid fantasy option until Antetokounmpo returns.

Jaxson Hayes Fantasy Outlook

Hayes is the second-most added waiver player right now. He's up 11.67% and sitting at 37.59% overall.

Hayes is back on the rise after the Lakers and Hornets trade was rescinded. Mark Williams was supposed to join the Lakers, but now Hayes is one of the few centers LA has.

Hayes has been the Lakers' starting center since Anthony Davis got injured, and then traded. In five starts, Hayes is averaging 24.9 minutes, 8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1 steal and 1.8 blocks per game.

It's not great fantasy production, but it is enough to add and utilize him in deeper leagues. I expect Los Angeles to add more center help in the coming days/weeks, so I'd take advantage of things with Hayes now instead of waiting.

Ausar Thompson Fantasy Outlook

Thompson is rostered in 73.96% of leagues after an 8.43% increase.

Thompson has been on a roll of late, scoring in double figures in nine of the past 11 games. He's averaging 11.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.6 blocks across 24.1 minutes a game.

Thompson has improved his play of late, but I don't see enough in his recent averages to warrant a big increase in own percentage. He definitely deserves to be rostered in all deeper leagues, and dynasty setups, but he's entering into standard leagues now.

I'd guess there's better waiver options out there in your standard leagues. I like what Thompson has been doing of late, but would not recommend adding him in too many standard leagues.

Other Pistons on the Rise

Malik Beasley, Isaiah Stewart and Tim Hardaway Jr. are three more Pistons inside the top-25 waiver pickups on Monday morning.

Beasley is up 3.55% and rostered in 76.66% of leagues right now. He's played pretty well of late, outside a two-point showing on February 5, so his surge up makes sense.

Stewart has been an up-and-down scorer over the past few weeks, so I'm a bit to see him being added. He's only at 18.43% rostered overall after a 2.5% bump though, and that's fair to see with some of his production of late. I'd think there are better options available to fantasy owners though.

Hardway is up 2.49% and is owned in 19.85% of leagues. He's coming off some two single-digit scoring performances, but has the potential to go for 20 or more on nights, so I get the appeal here. Again though, I'd argue there are better fantasy options available to owners.

Other Waiver Wire Options

Toronto's Jonathan Mogbo and Ochai Agbaji are top-10 waiver pickups right now. Mogbo is up 6.42% and rostered in 12.29% of leagues. Agbaji is up 5.8% and owned in 36.61% of leagues.

Mogbo has scored in double figures in three straight contests, and has a fair amount of fantasy points in all those games. He's an underrated deep-league option, and could remain a decent option for the remainder of the season.

Agbaji has been streaky with his scoring, alternating single- and double-digit performances over his past eight games. He's put up enough other numbers to get a bump in fantasy leagues though. I like the idea of adding him in deeper leagues, especially if he stays around 30 minutes played per game.

Ja'Kobe Walter is another Raptor on the waiver list. He's up 1.75% and rostered in 7.62% of leagues. He's played at least 20 minutes a game in each of the past five contests. Walter has scored 10 or more points in each of those contests, and is a decent fantasy option in really deep leagues until he cools off.

Jordan Clarkson is up 5.95% and sitting at 66.1% overall now. He's starting to find his groove after missing time with an injury. Add Clarkson now before it's too late.

Quentin Grimes and Justin Edwards are two Philadelphia players on the rise. Grimes is up 5.64% and owned in 23.49% of leagues, while Edwards is owned in 12.07% of leagues after a 2.29% bump.

Grimes looks to have a solid role with his new team, and remains a good deep-league option. Edwards hasn't been super consistent of late, but he's playing enough minutes to roster in a few deeper leagues at least.

Bub Carrington is up 5.3% and rostered in 32.19% of leagues now. His role could decrease when the Wizards are at full strength, but until that happens, he should be added and played in deeper leagues.

Georges Niang is rostered in 9.2% of leagues after a 5.29% increase. He's getting 20+ minutes a night after the Hawks made some trades, and even though he hasn't been a consistent performer, that's enough to make him a deep, deep league option.

Dallas' Max Christie and Naji Marshall are both on the rise. Christie is up 5.12% and owned in 48.89% of leagues, while Marshall is up to 23.65% after a 2.38% bump.

Christie should be rostered in even more leagues after seeing what he's done since joining the Mavericks. Add him before it's too late. Marshall has scored in double figures in four straight, and should remain a good option with Anthony Davis now out.

Some other waiver wire options inside the top-25 pickups right now are: Aaron Wiggins (up 4.81%, 32.19% overall), Matas Buzelis (2.71% up, 53.81% overall), Brandin Podziemski (up 2.45%, 49.88% overall), Buddy Hield (up 1.98%, 55.28% overall), Seth Curry (up 1.98%, 3.69% overall), Dillon Brooks (up 1.95%, 48.65% overall) and Jaden McDaniels (up 1.9%, 89.43% overall).
