NBA Prospects to Watch in the NCAA Tournament: Cooper Flagg, Kohni Broome, Alex Condon, Jase Richardson, Kasparas Jakucionis and More
Identifying some top-end NBA prospects who will be part of the March Madness fun over the next few weeks.
The NCAA men's basketball tournament is nearly here (no, I'm not including first four contests).
With that in mind, I wanted to highlight some NBA prospects who will be playing. For those of you in dynasty fantasy basketball leagues, or someone who had their redraft season derailed by injuries, watching the next crop of rookies is always fun.
I'm going to highlight players from the CBS 2025 Draft Prospect Rankings page. I'll break things down by seed.

No. 1 Seeds
Auburn's Johni Broome, Duke's Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, Khaman Maluach and Isaiah Evans and Florida's Alex Condon are all on the top-40 list.
Broome is in his fifth collegiate season, so he's a more seasoned prospect, maybe ready to make a difference right away in the NBA. He's averaging 18.9 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.3 blocks and 0.9 steals across 30.1 minutes for the Tigers.
Flagg is the top NBA prospect on almost every list, and should be the No. 1 pick if he declares for the draft. In his lone season with the Blue Devils, he's averaged 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks, showing his all-around game that has so many teams hoping to land him.
Knueppel is averaging 14.4 points, 4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1 steal and 0.2 blocks across 30.4 minutes a game this season. He's also in his freshman season.
Maluach is another freshman starring in what could be his only collegiate season. Across just 21 minutes a game, he's averaging 8.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, 0.5 assists and 0.2 steals.
Evans has come off the bench in 28 of his 31 games this season, but still is a pretty highly-regarded NBA prospect. Across 14.7 minutes, he's averaging 7.6 points, 1.2 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.2 steals and 0.1 blocks.
Condon is in his second college season, and has upped his numbers across the board. In 25.2 minutes a game, Condon is averaging 11.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.4 blocks and 0.8 steals.
No. 2 Seeds
Michigan State's Jase Richardson, Alabama's Labaron Philon and Tennessee's Chaz Lanier are playing for No. 2 seeds and are inside the top-40 list.
Richardson, the son of Jason Richardson, is averaging 12 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks across 11 starts and 32 games this season. He's playing 24.7 minutes per game.
Philon has averaged 10.9 points, 3.6 assists, 3.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 0.3 blocks across 24.5 minutes in his lone season for the Crimson Tide.
Lanier is another seasoned prospect as he's in his fifth collegiate season. He's averaging 17.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1 assist, 0.9 steals and 0.1 blocks across 31.1 minutes a game in his first year at Tennessee.
No. 3 Seeds
Texas Tech's JT Toppin is the only top-40 prospect from a No. 3 seed.
In his second collegiate season, and first with the Red Raiders, Toppin is averaging 18.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 1.2 assists and 0.9 steals across 26.4 minutes.
No. 4 Seeds
Maryland's Derik Queen is the only top-40 prospect from a No. 4 seed.
In his lone season with Maryland, Queen is averaging 16.3 points, 9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals and blocks across 30.1 minutes a game.
No. 5 Seeds
Michigan's Danny Wolf is the only top-40 prospect from a fifth-seeded team.
Wolf is in his first season with the Wolverines, and third collegiate season overall. He's averaging 13.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.3 blocks and 0.7 steals across 30.2 minutes a contest.
No. 6 Seeds
BYU's Egor Demin and Illinois' Kasparas Jakucionis and Will Riley are top-40 prospects from No. 6 seeds.
Demin has averaged 10.3 points, 5.4 assists, 3.8 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 0.4 blocks across 27.5 minutes a game in his only collegiate season.
Jakucionis is averaging 31.5 minutes a game for Illinois. He's also averaging 15 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.3 blocks a game.
Riley is at 12.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.2 blocks in 25.5 minutes per game. He's come off the bench in 26 of his 33 appearances.
No. 7 Seeds
Marquette's Kam Jones is the only top-40 prospect on a No. 7 seed.
Jones is in his fourth collegiate season, and he's saved his best for last. He's averaging 19.3 points, 5.9 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 0.2 blocks across 33.6 minutes a contest.
No. 8 Seeds
UConn's Liam McNeeley and Alex Karaban are two top-40 prospects from No. 8 seeds.
In 25 games this season, McNeely is averaging 14.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.2 blocks across 32 minutes.
Karaban is averaging 14.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.6 blocks and 0.5 steals in his 35.8 minutes a game. He's played in 31 games.
No. 9 Seeds
Creighton's Ryan Kalkbrenner, Baylor's VJ Edgecombe, Georgia's Asa Newell and Oklahoma's Jeremiah Fears are a good group of prospects on ninth-seeded teams.
Kalkbrenner is in his fifth collegiate season, all at Creighton, which deserves a shutout on its own. He's averaging 19.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.7 blocks, 1.5 assists and 0.6 steals in 34.2 minutes a game.
Edgecombe is averaging 15 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.1 steals and 0.6 blocks in 32.6 minutes a game. This is his first, and likely only, collegiate season.
Georgia's Newell is in his first college season. He's averaging 15.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1 steal and block and 0.9 assists per contest.
Fears is in his first collegiate season as well. He's averaging 17 points, 4.1 rebounds and assists, 1.6 steals and 0.1 blocks across 30 minutes.
No. 10 Seeds
Arkansas' Boogie Fland and Adou Thiero are two top-40 prospects from the No. 10 seeds.
Fland is averaging 15.1 points, 5.7 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 0.1 blocks across 34.1 minutes in his first collegiate season.
Theiro is in his third college season, having played the first two for Kentucky. He is averaging 15.6 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.8 blocks across 28.4 minutes.
No. 11 Seeds
Texas still has to win on Wednesday to get into the 64-team bracket, but we'll still talk about Tre Johnson.
Johnson has averaged 19.8 points, 3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1 steal and 0.3 blocks over 34.6 minutes this season.
UNC's Drake Powell and Ian Jackson helped the team take down San Diego State in a first four game on Tuesday.
Powell is averaging 7.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1 assist and 0.7 steals and blocks across 25.3 minutes a game. Jackson is at 12.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.2 blocks across 24.2 minutes a contest.
No. 12 Seeds
Colorado State's Nique Clifford is a top-40 prospect from a No. 12 seed. He's also the last one, as there's no top-40 prospects on teams seeded 13-16.
He's in his second season at Colorado State, after spending three seasons with Colorado. Clifford is averaging 19 points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 blocks over 35.3 minutes.
