Overlooked Fantasy Baseball Hitters and Pitchers: Austin Wells, Brandon Woodruff, Colt Keith, Jordan Romano, Tyler O'Neill and More
Identifying some of my favorite fantasy baseball players who are going after pick 150 on average in drafts.
With the fantasy baseball closing in quickly, I wanted to identify some overlooked players going into the season.
I'll be using the FantasySP ADP Rankings to form my list, and discuss players going after pick 150 on average. There's no rhyme or reason to the players I end up talking about - they are simply players who I think could be bigger fantasy assets in 2025 than a lot of people are projecting them to be.

Catchers
Only seven catchers appear inside the top-150 picks on average, so there's lots of options here.
J.T. Realmuto is the first catcher taken after pick 150 (165.94). Shea Langeliers and Tyler Stephenson round out the top 10.
Gabriel Moreno and Logan O'Hoppe are two more fantasy catchers I really like for 2025. Austin Wells has been trending up of late, but is still going after pick 200 on average.
First Basemen
There's 12 fantasy first basemen going inside the top 150 picks.
Jake Cronenworth (152.06) is the first pick after the top 150. Paul Goldschmidt (178.29) is a big name going a bit later.
Outside the top-200 picks, I see Carlos Santana, Rhys Hoskins and Nolan Schanuel as possible standard league options for long stretches of the 2025 season.
Second Basemen
There's nine fantasy second basemen going in the top-150 picks. Jackson Holliday (150.44) barely misses the cut, and rounds out the top 10 at the position.
Jonathan India (163.87) goes next, and is one of my favorite late-round fantasy picks, at any position. Luis Garcia Jr. (170.59) is another second baseman I really like.
Outside the top 200, Nick Gonzales, Hyeseong Kim (when he gets called up), Brandon Lowe and Colt Keith are all names to keep tabs on in 2025.
Shortstops
Thirteen fantasy shortstops appear in the top-150 picks. Anthony Volpe (155.58) and Masyn Winn (157.24) don't miss the top 150 mark by much.
There's several more fantasy shortstops who I think could be good standard league options in 2025, including Jeremy Pena, Dansby Swanson, Xavier Edwards and Zach Neto.
Outside the top 200, I also like Trevor Story (for as long as he's healthy) and Luisangel Acuna.
Third Basemen
There's also 13 fantasy third basemen going in the top-150 picks. Royce Lewis (150.45) and Jake Burger (151.33) just miss the mark.
I also like Max Muncy, Maikel Garcia and Eugenio Suarez. Outside the top-200 picks, Connor Norby, Luis Rengifo, Ryan McMahon, Joey Ortiz and Jacob Wilson all catch my eyes.
Outfielders
There's 40 outfielders going in the top-150 picks right now. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (154.34) and Dylan Crews (154.97) are the next two closest fantasy outfielders to that mark.
There's a ton of fantasy outfielders who I like after pick 150. Nick Castellanos, Tommy Edman, Jasson Dominguez and Tyler O'Neill are a few who appear between picks 150-200.
After pick 200, I like the following: Jorge Soler, Josh Lowe, Lane Thomas, Roman Anthony (once he gets called up), Evan Carter, Masataka Yoshida, Victor Robles and Garrett Mitchell.
Starting Pitchers
Forty-seven starting pitchers are going in the top-150 picks right now. There's a ton of pitchers I like after that though.
Reynaldo Lopez, Shane McClanahan, Bryan Woo, Taj Bradley, Zach Eflin, Nathan Eovaldi, MacKenzie Gore and Brady Singer are all going before pick 200 on average.
After pick 200, I like the following: Reese Olson, Brandon Woodruff, Luis Severino, Ben Lively, Jeffrey Springs, Shane Bieber (when he returns from injury), Tobias Myers and Jose Quintana. A lot of those guys could be picked up as standard league streaming options and kept all season if they pitch as well as I expect them to.
Relief Pitchers
There are 16 relief pitchers appearing in the top-150 picks right now. They are all projected closers for their teams.
Outside the top-150 and before pick 200 on average, there's Lucas Erceg, Justin Martinez, Pete Fairbanks and Trevor Megill that catch my eyes.
After pick 200, there's Jordan Romano, Aroldis Chapman/Liam Hendriks, Kenley Jansen, Jason Foley, Kyle Finnegan and Chris Martin who could all close some games in 2025. There's a couple non-closers going before these guys as well.
