Week 8 FAAB Waiver Wire Pickups: Daniel Jones, D'Onta Foreman, Parris Campbell Emerge As Top Targets
It's that time of the week to break down the top players on the waiver wire and how much of your FAAB budget you should consider on each target. Let's identify a few options at the major four positions.
Week 8 Quarterbacks
Daniel Jones, New York Giants
Surprisingly Jones has become an effective quarterback under the tutelage of Brian Daboll and Mike Kafka. They have figured out a way to make his weaknesses his strengths and have put him in the best possible position to succeed. The Giants have a relatively easy schedule coming up so if you are looking for an upside play you could do a lot worse than Jones. FAAB: $10-15
Davis Mills, Houston Texans
Mills played pretty well against the Raiders and if it wasn't for a couple of ill-timed penalties in the fourth quarter the Texans had a shot to keep the game close. The biggest problem is that their offense revolves around the run game and they're not putting the ball in Mills's hands enough. There's definitely upside with him so the payoff might be better towards the end of the season. FAAB: $5-10
Zach Wilson, New York Jets
Wilson has looked very inconsistent at times, but he has good mobility and shows a flair for the dramatic. The team needs to get Elijah Moore back in the fold quickly now that Corey Davis is injured too which can help. FAAB $5-10
Jameis Winston, New Orleans Saints
Andy Dalton may have had a good game against the Cardinals but I am still convinced that it is Winston who gives the Saints the best chance to win. He has the support of his teammates, and he looked solid as the starter earlier in the season. Look for him to get his job back sooner rather than later. FAAB: $10-15
Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh Steelers
It can be frustrating rostering a rookie like Pickett but the key is to be patient with him and to realize that he is just a rookie and that good things are on their way. He shows a lot of moxie and has the trust of his teammates, especially George Pickens. FAAB $10-15

Week 8 Running Backs
Michael Carter, New York Jets
Watching Breece Hall leave the game with an injury was very sad for Jets fans and fantasy fans alike. Luckily the Jets have a solid replacement in Carter who was an early round pick back in 2021. Carter is a three down back who should get at least 12-15 touches per game moving forward.
NOTE: The Jets acquired James Robinson from the Jaguars which should leave Carter in a time share role. I still foresee 12-15 touches per week from Carter regardless since he is more familiar with the offense. FAAB: $150-160
Gus Edwards, Baltimore Ravens
Hop on the bus with Gus as quickly as possible. If you're going to be spending your first overall waiver pick you are most likely going to be doing it with Edwards. He could have six or seven more TDs this season. FAAB: $350-375
Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams
Williams will be activated probably in the next week or two and when that happens, there is a good chance that he will become the RB1 for the Rams. He was a dangerous threat back at Notre Dame and I know the Rams really liked him in training camp. Now might be the last time you can get him. FAAB: $45-55
JaMychal Hasty, Jacksonville Jaguars
With James Robinson now in New York, keep your eye on Hasty who will be the backup to Travis Etienne in Jacksonville. Hasty has some upside in the passing game and might have stand alone value should Etienne get injured. FAAB: $1-2
Latavius Murray, Denver Broncos
The Broncos are a mess, but I still see Murray carving out a role in their running back by committee setup. He is solid at the goal line and has better hands than most people give him credit. FAAB: $20-30
D’Onta Foreman, Carolina Panthers
Remember Foreman? I do. The Panthers brought him over to be McCaffrey’s backup and now there is a good chance that he will be the team’s starter for the rest of the season. He has excellent power and surprising speed for a bigger back. Simply put, he’s a good player on a bad team. FAAB: $180-200
Week 8 Wide Recievers
Joshua Palmer, Los Angeles Chargers
I am a little bit worried about Mike Williams’ injury so I would keep a very close eye on Palmer who might end up back in the starting lineup. The Chargers are on BYE in Week 8 so if you need a player this week then you might choose to pass on Palmer, however, if you can stash him that might be a good idea. FAAB: $20-25
Wan’Dale Robinson, New York Giants
The Giants coaching staff loves Robinson and design plays for him. While I don't think they are ever going to be a prolific passing offense so long as Daniel Jones is the quarterback I do think that Robinson could have about 10 to 14 points a week which is highly consistent. FAAB: $50-60
Josh Reynolds, Detroit Lions
DJ Chark went on the IR this week and right now it looks like Jameson Williams is not going to be back anytime soon. Reynolds has become the de facto starter for the Lions and someone who could have under the radar fantasy value. FAAB: $30-35
Parris Campbell, Indianapolis Colts
Forget Paris? I haven't. At one time Campbell was an extremely talented wide receiver out of Ohio State but he's always dealt with injuries at the pro level. But now that he's healthy he has really become quite the weapon for the Colts (as witnessed by his 10-catch game this past weekend against Tennessee). With the Colts likely benching Matt Ryan I do worry about Campbell's upside over the next couple of weeks, but I still think he's worth monitoring. FAAB: $25-30
Marquise Goodwi, Seattle Seahawks
Goodwin must be on everyone’s radar mainly because DK Metcalf’s status is up in the air. One note of caution is that Goodwin caught his second TD on the same play that JC Jackson got injured, so be careful not to inflate his stats as he is not a special talent. FAAB: $25-30

Week 8 Tight Ends
Greg Dulcich, Denver Broncos
Albert O who?? Dulcich has assumed the role of TE1 in Denver has the resume to back it up. He’s a former WR with good speed and solid hands. The only thing holding him back will be the poor QB play of Russell Wilson and Brett Rypien. FAAB: $40-45
Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
I have mentioned Otton here before as I was a huge fan when he played in college and think he has the size and speed to be one of the top tight ends in the NFL. He's going to have some growth issues and make mistakes but that's all part of being a rookie in the league. Tom Brady will give him a chance to get about 8 to 12 fantasy points a week. FAAB: $35-40
Harrison Bryant, Cleveland Browns
Bryant has always been a big target with significant upside, but he's been blocked by David Njoku which has hurt his fantasy value. With the Njoku out most likely for the next few weeks Bryant should have the opportunity to assert himself in the team's offense. FAAB: $15-20
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints
I find Johnson supremely frustrating in that every time I play him, he does nothing and every time I sit him, he scores a touchdown. At some point the Saints are going to realize that he is their best bet at tight end and put him on the field for a consistent number of snaps. When that happens, I think we can expect him to become a consistent and talented player. FAAB: $15-20
