Week 13 FAAB Waiver Wire Pickups: How Much To Spend On Mike White, Van Jefferson, More!
It's that time of the week to examine the top available players on the waiver wire as we gear up for Week 13 of the fantasy football season. Let's dive in.
Quarterbacks
Mac Jones, New England Patriots
Jones looked sensational on Thanksgiving night against Minnesota. Most of that can be attributed to the fact that the Vikings pass defense is horrible but he still looked confident and was able to involve a plethora of his receivers. The biggest problem with Jones is the coaching staff and the fact that they don't run a consistent game plan week in and week out. I'm hoping that if Damien Harris is hurt that they might open up the offense more and let Jones throw some shorter passes on first and second down. FAAB: $50-60
Mike White, New York Jets
Was there any player more impressive this past weekend than Mike White? He looked phenomenal throwing the ball and was in complete command of the offense as opposed to Zach Wilson who has been a train wreck all season. The Jets have a lot of offensive weapons so White cannot be discounted as a one hit wonder. I think he's probably the best quarterback available right now on the waiver wire and I'm more than happy to pick him up in leagues and start him if need be. FAAB: $80-100
Sam Darnold, Carolina Panthers
It was good to see Darnold back as the starter for the Panthers as the Baker Mayfield experiment blew up in the Panthers’ faces. Darnold is certainly not a world beater but he is a pro quarterback and he immediately makes DJ Moore a viable fantasy target. FAAB: $30-40
Taylor Heinicke, Washington Commanders
Heinicke just seems to find a way to win. I don't think he played particularly well against Atlanta this past weekend however he led the team to a victory in bad weather. I don't love the Commanders schedule over the next few weeks since they play a lot of divisional games but if you're in a Superflex league Heinicke might be worth a strong look. FAAB: $40-50
Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers whole demeanor right now seems to come across as he's disinterested in playing football and there seems to be a good chance that he misses week 13. If that should be the case then Love will get an emergency start this coming weekend. I don't think I would pick him up on waivers right now as I might wait till the last minute to see if Rodgers is officially ruled out. For what it’s worth, Love looked solid vs. the Eagles and there could be fantasy upside with him. FAAB: $40-50
Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans
The Titans are playing pretty good football right now and they have a legitimate chance to make a deep run in the playoffs if they can get Tannehill and his receivers on track. FAAB: $30-40
Running Backs
Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams
Williams has become the de facto #1 running back for the Rams at this point of the season. He's got a very good all-around skill set in terms of both running and catching the football but the problem is that the Rams have so many injuries that I just don't see a pathway for him to have more than like 10 to 12 points a week. FAAB: $100-120
Zonovan Knight, New York Jets
Knight really took off as an injury replacement for Michael Carter who left the game early on. Knight was a well above average college player and it looks like the Jets might need him to be one of their guys in the backfield considering they were willing to put James Robinson on the inactive list prior to Week 12. There's always one guy who ends up emerging late in the season and this season it just might be Knight. FAAB: $300-350
Mike Boone, Denver Broncos
I was a little shocked that Boone was playing even back when Javonte Williams was healthy but now that Williams is hurt and Melvin Gordon is cut there seems to be a reasonable pathway for him to get some playing time as soon as this week when he's activated from the IR. He's certainly not a world beater but I think that he could have 6 to 10 fantasy points per week over the next few games. FAAB: $80-100
Jerick McKinnon, Kansas City Chiefs
When the Chiefs are behind it is McKinnon who is on the field and I think that gives him immediate value where he could get about six or seven points a week with the possibility of way more. FAAB: $120-140
JaMychal Hasty, Jacksonville Jaguars
Keep your eye on Hasty who is now the backup to Travis Etienne in Jacksonville. Hasty has some upside in the passing game and might have stand-alone value should Etienne get injured. He is a terrific blocker which ensures he will be on the field. FAAB: $80-120
Jordan Mason, San Francisco 49ers
This feels like a real reach but with Elijah Mitchell injured and with CMC possibly injured there could be a pathway for Mason to be the lead back over the next few weeks. It seems strange to think that the 49ers strength may have become a weakness but Mason will be used and is worth picking up. FAAB: $80-100

Wide Receivers
Van Jefferson, Los Angeles Rams
If you're wondering who the new #1 receiver is for the Rams his name is Van Jefferson. With Matthew Stafford most likely out for the season I'm not sure that Jefferson is going to be a highly targeted but he still will be out there for most of the team snaps and I do expect that he will have about 5 to 7 targets per week. FAAB: $100-120
Elijah Moore, New York Jets
It was exciting to see Moore score a touchdown this week as his play helped energize the Jets to a convincing win over the Bears. Moore really seemed like he was in the doldrums all season long because Zach Wilson refused to throw the ball in his direction but let's not forget that Moore was being selected in the 5th and 6th rounds of drafts so that should tell you how talented he really is. FAAB: $120-150
Demarcus Robinson, Baltimore Ravens
Robinson has turned out to be a very good player for the Ravens in that he is a big target for Lamar to throw to especially in the red zone. I'm not sure he's the most talented guy but right now his opportunity is great and I think that we have to take advantage of that. FAAB: $40-50
Jameson Williams, Detroit Lions
Williams has been designated to return from the IR and this gives him three weeks to come back to the team. I do think that there's a reasonable chance he plays in week 13 and a most definite chance he plays in week 14. I don't know how well he's going to perform right out of the gate, but I know that the talent is there and I always bet on talent. FAAB: $100-120
David Bell, Cleveland Browns
Deshaun Watson is expected back in Week 13 which should raise the fantasy value of Bell who seems to be overlooked by Jacoby Brissett. FAAB: $50-60
DeAndre Carter, Los Angeles Chargers
With Mike Williams expected to be out for another couple of weeks Carter appears to be the solid number three option for the Chargers. While I still like Josh Palmer more, Carter should get about 6 to 7 targets per game which keeps him at least around 10-12 fantasy points which is startable in most leagues. FAAB: $50-60
Trent Sherfield, Miami Dolphins
I want every piece of the Miami offense that I can possibly find. Sheffield is the handcuff to both Hill and Waddle and someone who should be rostered in 16-team leagues. FAAB: $10-20

Tight Ends
Jelani Woods, Indianapolis Colts
This is a guy that I've had my eye on for quite some time. The Colts spent a high draft pick on him even though they had depth at the position. He's very big with a huge catching radius and surprising speed for a guy of his size. He dominated the Steelers on Monday night and while he won't do that every week, he could have a chance for a very successful end of season and is somebody I'm eying in dynasty formats as well. FAAB: $60-80
Austin Hooper, Tennessee Titans
When Hooper came over in the offseason, I was excited because I remembered his days back in Atlanta thinking that he could provide the Titans with a big target in the middle of the field. Up until week 11 he really hadn't done much to speak of but he seems to have perked up recently which is good for his fantasy value. FAAB: $40-50
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints
I have been frustrated with Johnson and I think it has clouded my fantasy opinion of him because it seems like every time I've ever played him in DFS or in my seasonal leagues he's let me down in the past. But it seems like right now that Johnson has become an integral part of the Saints passing offense and someone who can be used moving forward this season. FAAB: $50-60
Foster Moreau, Las Vegas Raiders
I doubt that Moreau is available in most leagues but with Darren Waller still on the IR Moreau is someone that Carr looks to in the red zone and he always seems to be good for about 8 to 12 fantasy points per week. FAAB: $70-80
Hunter Henry, New England Patriots
The Patriots don't throw a ton to any particular receiver but it seems like Henry is a consistent target who should get about four or five opportunities per game. If any one of those opportunities turns into a red zone attempt that only helps increase his value. FAAB: $30-40
