2023 NFL Free Agency: Lamar Jackson Requests Trade From Baltimore Ravens!
Versatile and dual-threat quarterback Lamar Jackson has asked the Baltimore Ravens to trade him.
In a series of tweets posted on Monday, Jackson said he made the request on March 2 because the team isn’t willing to present him with an offer that represents his true value. On March 7, the Ravens tagged him as a non-exclusive franchise player. The team said at the time that they were hopeful of a long-term agreement with him. However, this version of the franchise player tag, allowed Jackson to negotiate with other teams but also allowed the Ravens to match any deal.

Jackson, the 2019 MVP, does not have an agent. His qualities as a passer and ball carrier make him the type of player that we rarely see. At 25, he is already one of six quarterbacks in league history with 10,000 passing yards and 4,000 rushing yards. He was injured at the end of last season and the Ravens have never played in the AFC Championship game with him under center. If he remains in Baltimore, he will play under a new offensive coordinator: the Ravens hired Todd Monken from the University of Georgia at the end of last season. Jackson was selected with the final pick of the first round IN 2018 and has played the past five seasons in Baltimore, leading the team to a 45-16-0 record in games he has started. The 26-year-old has twice been invited to the Pro Bowl and has helped the Ravens reach the playoffs in four of the last five seasons.
However, with Jackson clearly demanding a change in scenery, let's take a look at the top 3 trade destinations:
Lamar Jackson Potential Landing Spots
Tennessee Titans
The Titans are in desperate need of an upgrade at the quarterback position. Jackson will be able to bring his talent, swagger, and experience to a young team, especially for the wide receiver position. Jackson will be able to strive in Tennesee as he will have several speed threats at his disposal namely Treylon Burks and Nick Westbrook. Jackson will be able to stretch the field and move the chains by consistently getting the ball to them in stride for them to make jaw-dropping plays.

New York Jets
While the Aaron Rodgers saga continues to live on, and signs are indicating a potential retirement, the Jets will definitely raise the stakes knowing that Lamar Jackson could prove to be a better return on investment. More importantly, Jets fans would be salivating at the potential of Lamar Jackson working with a stacked group of receivers that features Allen Lazard, Mecole Hardman, and is headlined by Garret Wilson. Jackson will have plenty of talent to work with, and we will definitely see Jackson’s arm more in action should he bring his talents over to the Big Apple. More importantly, the Jets would be getting their quarterback of the future with Jackson, as opposed to just a rental that would be making his decision on a yearly basis.
Atlanta Falcons
Should the Atlanta Falcons be able to pull off a trade for Lamar Jackson, Jackson will be able to instantly change the outlook of their offense. Jackson's ability to run the ball, and throw on the run will allow dynamic playmakers such as Drake London to take the top of the defense and allow Jackson to really showcase his arm strength. Also worth noting is that Jackson would bring his much-needed experience and leadership ability to a very young Falcons team. All of these attributes along with his talent would make bring the Falcons back to respectability once again.
