Best NFL DFS Plays Week 8: Jalen Hurts, Drake London, Mike Gesicki
Best DFS Quarterback Plays Week 8
Jalen Hurts, Eagles
Hurts has the premier matchup of the week against a Commanders secondary that has been overly generous to opposing quarterbacks. My friend and DFS expert Trevor Hillstrom also believes that Hurts is not running as much so he may be passing even more. If you're going to pay up, Hurts is the quarterback to do it with, and you can double stack him with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
Dak Prescott, Cowboys
I just have a hunch about Dak as I think he's even more confident running than he's been in weeks past and I think that Dallas is due for another big game at home. The Rams took a big home loss last week and now to go on the road against Dallas. I see a lot of short fields for the Cowboys, and I think Dak should probably have two touchdowns.
Kenny Pickett, Steelers
I'm listing Pickett here for two reasons: The first is that he's supremely cheap and at $4,900 on DraftKings he allows you to go get other supremely talented skill players; secondly, Jacksonville has been very stingy against the run and has been way more generous against the pass. Pickett looked confident at the end of the game against the Rams, and if he can pick up from there I think he could have a surprisingly good game.
Sam Darnold, 49ers
As of right now, it looks like Brock Purdy is going to miss this game with a concussion and Sam Darnold is going to be at minimum price quarterbacking one of the top teams in the league with arguably the best playcaller as his head coach. Aidan O'Connell was $4,000 a few weeks ago, and people played him everywhere. Why not Darnold at $4,300 on a great offensive team?

Best DFS Running Back Plays Week 8
Christian McCaffrey, 49ers
Because Sam Darnold is likely the quarterback, I think that the 49ers will rely more on McCaffrey than normal. Additionally, Cincinnati lets up 4.71 yards per carry to opposing running backs, which is an extremely high number. If McCaffrey gets 20 touches, he should easily have 150 yards from scrimmage.
Alvin Kamara, Saints
There's no bigger checkdown king right now than Derek Carr and his favorite target is Kamara. The Colts usually play better at home, and I can see the Saints playing from behind in the second half, which should mean even more receptions for Kamara, so he's definitely somebody that I will be targeting.
Isiah Pacheco, Chiefs
Pacheco did score a touchdown last week, but he didn't break out and have that big game that most people, myself included, expected. This week, he gets the Denver Broncos and their league-worst run defense. If there was ever a chance for Pacheco to get two touchdowns, this is the week.
Breece Hall, Jets
A few weeks ago I mentioned that Hall was going to have a lot of terrific games against bad run defenses right after the Jets bye week. This game against the Giants signifies the first of about five real great starts for him. The Jets want to feed Hall for at least 20 touches. I see him getting 90 yards with a really good chance to score a touchdown.
Best DFS Wide Receiver Plays Week 8
Tyreek Hill, Dolphins
There were some rumblings that Hill was not 100% with an injury, but it looks like he's practicing, which means it looks like he's playing. There's no better wide receiver in the league against man coverage than Hill, and that's primarily what New England plays. Start him and don't think twice.
Zay Flowers, Ravens
The Cardinals play a ton of zone coverage, and Flowers has been one of the top receivers in the league against zone defenses. Lamar Jackson is playing very confidently right now, and although I don't think the Ravens will need to throw a ton, I still see Flowers getting six or seven receptions in this game.
Drake London, Falcons
Tennessee plays a lot of man coverage and it's almost impossible to cover London in that type of scheme because he's so big, so fast, and so strong. Most teams have been daring Desmond Ridder to throw against them, and I think he will do that again this week and probably throw for close to 230 to 240 yards. If that happens, I expect that London will get about 80 yards and a touchdown in this game.
Josh Downs, Colts
Marshon Lattimore will likely cover Michael Pittman, which should leave Downs open with a lot of room in the middle of the field. Minshew has shown that he really likes throwing to him, and I think that continues in Week 8. Plus, it's a known fact that the Saints' slot cornerback is really bad, so Downs should have the biggest game of all the Colts' players
Best DFS Tight End Plays Week 8
Darren Waller, Giants
The Jets have let up the most touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season, which bodes well for Waller. Additionally, with Tyrod Taylor at QB, the Giants' offense has looked more confident than they looked all season with Daniel Jones. A lot of people will be looking at Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews after last week's great games, and other people will be looking to save money at the position. Waller feels like you're getting caught in the middle, but he's got a real good chance for a touchdown and about 70 or 80 yards receiving.
Jake Ferguson, Cowboys
The Rams give up the third most points against opposing tight ends, and they let up over nine yards per target. Even better is that Ferguson comes at a real discounted price. I think he has the most touchdown equity for any tight end on the slate.
Trey McBride, Cardinals
McBride was a third-round pick for the Cardinals last year, and it looks like the job is now going to be his moving forward. The Ravens have been stingy against opposing tight ends, but McBride is not just any tight end; he plays more like a receiver and using him is a great way to save money to get one of those big wide receivers into your roster construction.
Mike Gesicki, Patriots
You know that I believe in the revenge narrative, and here Gesicki gets to go up against his old Dolphins team. He's super cheap on both sites, and I think he's got a really good chance for a touchdown.
