Fantasy Football Wide Receiver & Tight End Start/Sit Week 10: Jahan Dotson, Davante Adams, Jonnu Smith
The importance of knowing who to start and who to sit can make or break a fantasy week and your matchup. People like to say, “Start your studs,” and typically speaking, that is the way to go, especially early in the season, but sometimes a player's matchup gives them more value in a certain week. On the flip side, a player can also have a poor matchup that could give you a reason to bench them.

Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Week 10 Starts
Jahan Dotson, Washington Commanders @ Seattle Seahawks
Dotson is playing his best football of the season over the past couple of weeks. He has scored a TD in consecutive weeks and set his season high in catches and yards. With Curtis Samuel out, QB Sam Howell has targeted him 18 times in just the past two weeks, which explains Dotson’s increased production. This weekend he faces a Seahawks defense that ranks 25th in fantasy football against the WR position. Make sure you get him into your lineups!
Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints @ Minnesota Vikings
Some of you might be afraid to go to Thomas this week after he only saw one target in Week 9. The thing is, he has seen at least six targets in every other game this season and at least seven targets in seven of his nine games this year. He is a big part of the Saints' offense, and you should expect him to get back involved this weekend when the Saints take on the Vikings, who rank 24th against WR in fantasy football. In a 10-team league, you might have better options than Thomas; otherwise, he needs to get back into your lineups this week.
Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Week 10 Sits
Davante Adams, Las Vegas Raiders vs. New York Jets
I will start by saying this is only for shallow leagues, likely 10-team leagues where you have plenty of options. It may seem crazy to bench one of the most talented WRs in the NFL, but fantasy football is a week-to-week game, and right now, Adams just cannot be trusted every week. He has four or fewer catches in four of the past five weeks and has gone six games without a receiving TD. He also hasn’t topped 75 yards since October 1st, and this weekend he takes on one of the top secondaries in the NFL, which doesn’t bode well for him. I still can’t believe I’m saying it, but leave Adams on your bench.
Michael Gallup, Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants
The Cowboys' offense is good and the passing game has been a big part of it. The problem is that Michael Gallup hasn’t contributed at all. He has three or fewer catches in seven of nine games this season and has yet to score a TD. He also only has one game of over 60 yards receiving and he is averaging just 30 yards per game. He can’t be trusted in any league size right now, and his matchup vs. the Giants this weekend isn’t ideal either. They rank in the top 10 of the NFL against the pass and the Cowboys are expected to be run-heavy and playing with a lead for most of the game.
Fantasy Football Tight End Week 10 Starts
Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears vs. Carolina Panthers (TNF)
Kmet is back to being a must-start in fantasy if you don’t roster one of the top tight ends. The Bears' offense has been playing well with Tyson Bagent at QB, and Kmet has been on a roll lately too. He had two TDs in Week 9, and that was after catching 10 passes for 79 yards in Week 8. Although the Panthers' defense is pretty good overall, Kmet is still a red zone threat and I always prefer offense to defense on short weeks. Feel comfortable going with Kmet until Justin Fields returns, and then we will see how the Bears' offense looks.
Jonnu Smith, Atlanta Falcons @ Arizona Cardinals
Jonnu had been a favorite target of Desmond Ridder; what we didn’t know is how he would fair with Taylor Heinicke at QB. In Heinicke’s first start, Jonnu was quiet. In the most recent game, though, Jonnu had a big day thanks to a massive catch and run for a TD. Heinicke targeted Jonnu a team-high six times, so it appears that no matter who is at QB in Atlanta, Jonnu will see the ball. The Falcons are the favorites this weekend against a bad Cardinals team, so Jonnu should be able to continue his success and provide quality production for your teams. I have him as a top-12 TE this weekend.
Fantasy Football Tight End Week 10 Sits
David Njoku, Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens
He is coming off a big game a week ago, which coincided with the return of Deshaun Watson from injury. Typically, you aren’t going to have a better option than Njoku on your roster, yet this week, I suggest going in a different direction. Not only do the Ravens rank second in fantasy football against the TE position, but they also rank second in the NFL vs. the pass and first in the NFL in points allowed. They are the best defense in the league, and unless you play in the deepest of formats, you should be looking for an alternative to all their key offensive players, not just Njoku.
Luke Musgrave, Green Bay Packers @ Pittsburgh Steelers
He is coming off his most complete game as an NFL player, setting a career-high in yards and finding the end zone for the first time. With that being said, his outlook for this week doesn’t look so great. He has been inconsistent this season, and now he faces a Steelers defense that is top five in fantasy football against the TE position. He is already a fringe player most weeks, so based on his matchup, he should be left on your bench.
