Week 11 Waiver Wire Pickups RBs/WRs: Ty Chandler, Keaton Mitchell, Noah Brown, Demario Douglas and More
We finished our 10th football Sunday, and now it's time to hit the waiver wire. With Week 10 over, we are really starting to see things take shape around the league. Here, we are going to focus on the best running backs and wide receivers that may be available in your league.
Week 11 Waiver Wire Pickups
Running Backs
Ty Chandler, Minnesota Vikings
Alexander Mattison went down with a concussion on Sunday and Chandler stepped into a feature back role. Outside of Brock Purdy, no player has entered the concussion protocol and played the same week. So we should expect Chandler to serve as the top back in Minnesota for at least one week. He was also getting some run while Mattison was still healthy, so that's something to watch moving forward. Prior to getting injured, we also saw Cam Akers taking more and more carries. Those touches could now revert to Chandler even once Mattison has cleared concussion protocol. In Week 10, Chandler carried the ball 15 times for 36 yards and a TD. Chandler will have a great matchup next week against the Denver Broncos.
Keaton Mitchell, Baltimore Ravens
Mitchell once again showed off his explosive playmaking ability in Week 10. On just three carries, he averaged 11.3 yards per carry and broke off a 39-yard TD run while adding a 32-yard reception. The volume isn't quite there yet, but if he continues to play like this it will inevitably come. It's worth noting that he saw more carries and targets than Justice Hill so it looks like he's already overtaken him. This is a bit reminiscent of what DeVon Achane was able to do in Miami earlier in the season.
Devin Singletary, Houston Texans
Dameon Pierce has been banged up and hasn't played in the past two games. Even when he was healthy, he was underperforming and Singletary was receiving more and more opportunities. This week, he went off. Singletary saw a career-high 30 carries that he took for 150 yards and a TD. As long as Pierce is sidelined, Singletary looks like a must-start back, and even when Pierce is back he's looking like a viable flex option.
Rico Dowdle, Dallas Cowboys
Tony Pollard has been a massive disappointment this season and it looks like the Cowboys are now giving more looks to Dowdle who has looked better than Pollard when he's out there. Pollard still led the team with 15 carries but only managed 55 scoreless yards. Dowdle turned his 12 carries into 79 yards and a TD. This is a situation to monitor moving forward and Dowdle is worth stashing to see what happens with him.
Wide Receivers
Noah Brown, Houston Texans
Brown once again went off this week catching seven of his eight targets for 172 yards. His quarterback CJ Stroud once again threw for over 350 yards. As the star rookie continues to ascend, his wide receivers are benefiting and Brown looks to be the biggest beneficiary as of late. The return of Nico Collins could hurt him a bit, but that is no reason to leave him on the waiver wire.
Demario Douglas, New England Patriots
Douglas is clearly the best receiver the New England Patriots have. It's evident that he is the playmaker that this team needs to get the receiver In Week 10, he dominated the teams in targets, receptions, and yards catching six of his nine targets for 84 yards. It looks like the Pats have finally mercifully benched the massively incompetent McCorkle Jones. Getting any quarterback in there who doesn't have an arm like a wet noodle should benefit all the pass-catchers, none more so than the explosive Pop Douglas.
Brandin Cooks, Dallas Cowboys
No passing attack has been hotter than the Cowboys and Cooks finally had that breakout game in Week 10. He caught nine passes for 173 yards and a TD. As great as Ceedee Lamb has been, he can't catch every pass and it looks like Cooks is becoming that second option we all expected him to be when he signed with Dallas. If he has been dropped to your waiver wire you need to scoop him up and plug him in until this passing attack cools down.
A.T. Perry, New Orleans Saints
This is a bit more of a speculative add for deeper leagues, but Perry seems to be the guy who will be seeing more snaps while Michael Thomas is out with an injury. It sounds like Thomas is likely heading to injured reserve. Perry saw four targets and caught two of them for 38 yards and a TD. We wouldn't advise starting him quite yet, but he's worth stashing and seeing how he looks next week. Then decide if he's a guy you can cut or if he's a guy that can potentially crack your starting lineup.
