Over the past two games, the Jaguars have allowed Isaiah Likely to finish with five catches for 70 yards and a touchdown and David Njoku to get six catches for 91 yards and two touchdowns. On the season, they have given up the seventh-most receiving yards to opposing tight ends, along with the third-most touchdowns. Otton is such a fantastic blocker that the Buccaneers leave him on the field for close to 90% of their snaps, and Baker Mayfield has thrown to him in some big spots, like when he caught the winning touchdown against Atlanta. He’s a sneaky play in Seasonal leagues and my favorite cheap option in DFS.
Best NFL DFS Plays Week 16: Justin Fields, Jameson Williams, Trey McBride
Dr. Roto shares his favorite NFL DFS plays for Week 16's main slate!
Best DFS Quarterback Plays Week 16
Justin Fields, Bears
There are so many things that I like about Fields this week: The Cardinals let up the third-most passing touchdowns as well as the third-highest YPA at 7.74. You know this means that Fields is going to take a lot of shots deep downfield, which is what we want to see, along with his rushing yards. The Bears’ defense is playing at a really high level, which should give him more opportunities than most games, and he always plays better at home. He feels like the boom QB of the slate.
Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers
Have you seen what most teams do to the Jaguars’ secondary? The Jaguars right now have let up the fifth-most passing yards and the fifth-most touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks. They also let up 7.29 YPA. Baker has done everything to show that he can be the quarterback of the future for Tampa and right now the Bucs are playing well enough to make the playoffs. I’m buying into Baker this weekend.
Nick Mullens, Vikings
I was surprised at how well Mullens played last week against Cincinnati but maybe I shouldn’t be since he used to play in San Francisco for Kyle Shanahan. This is a home game for Minnesota and the Vikings usually play well there. Meanwhile, the Lions have been struggling in their secondary. We might even see Mullens get a few more rushing yards considering the Lions are the worst team against mobile quarterbacks. He had six rushing attempts against Cincinnati and I wouldn’t put it past him to do the same this week. The number that I’m really focusing on is that Las Vegas has his passing yardage at 259.5 (-129), which is a strong over.

Best DFS Running Back Plays Week 16
Bijan Robinson, Falcons
I’m not trying to be dramatic, but it almost feels as if Arthur Smith’s job is hanging in the balance this week. Atlanta drafted one of the top running backs of the past decade in Bijan Robinson and has barely used him. If you can’t play him at home against Indianapolis and get the most out of him, then you probably shouldn’t be coaching in the NFL. The Colts let up the eighth-most rushing yards in the league as well as the second-most touchdowns to opposing running backs. Moreover, they let up the fifth-most receiving yards to opposing running backs. If this game doesn’t scream give the ball to Bijan. I don’t know which game would. Even better is that his ownership will be at an all-time low after last week’s debacle.
D’Andre Swift, Eagles
The Giants’ defense was playing on a solid level for a moment, but over the past few games they have reverted back to what we expected from them. The Eagles are coming into this game on a mission after being embarrassed against Seattle. The Giants let up the third-most rushing yards to opposing running backs as well as being tied for the fourth-most rushing touchdowns allowed. Even better for Swift is that the Giants allow 4.55 YPC, which is a very healthy number. I might bet on Boston Scott to get an anytime touchdown because he always seems to do something when these teams play, but in terms of sheer volume, Swift is your man.
Ty Chandler, Vikings
You have to be impressed with how Chandler played last week against the Bengals. Some might point to the fact that the Bengals' interior line was decimated by the loss of D. J. Reader but I look at Chandler and see a player capable of explosive plays. Kevin O’Connell knows that Chandler is a more versatile piece for the Vikings' offense than Alexander Mattison at this point and has named Chandler his RB1. If people are doubting Chandler this week, it’s at their own risk. I am firing him up and eating the chalk.
Best DFS Wide Receiver Plays Week 16
Mike Evans, Buccaneers
The Jaguars’ secondary has given up the fifth-most touchdowns to opposing receivers as well as 8.17 YPC. What we’ve learned about the Jaguars over this past six or seven weeks is that it’s hard to run on them but you can beat them with deep passes. Evans has been relatively quiet over the past two games as Chris Godwin has seen a lot of the targets, but if there ever was a boom week for a wide receiver, this feels like it. I like Mike Evans to get 100 yards receiving and score a touchdown.
D.J. Moore, Bears
The Cardinals let up 9.16 yards per target, which means that they can be beaten downfield on big plays. Moreover, they let up a 71.6% catch percentage, which tells you that their secondary is not doing its job of stopping opposing receivers. This feels like a game where the Bears can make some explosive plays, and Fields to Moore might just be the $1,000,000 combination in DFS.
Jameson Williams, Lions
With the Vikings blitzing all game long, expect to see the Lions' receivers in plenty of man coverage. Amon-Ra St. Brown is the Lions' top receiver, but he tends to struggle more in man coverage than he does in zone. Williams has seen his presence in the Lions' offense grow and he is capable of beating any coverage deep because of his fantastic speed. If the Lions win this week, I expect that it will be because Williams caught a few deep passes and possibly a TD. He is my favorite cheap WR on the board by far.
Best DFS Tight End Plays Week 16
David Njoku, Browns
Joe Flacco has done some incredible things for David Njoku’s career. Over the last five games Njoku has had 15, nine, six, eight, and 14 targets. Houston allows a 73.7% catch percentage to opposing tight ends, along with 7.25 YPT. They’ve always struggled covering opposing tight ends, and I think they’re going to struggle covering Njoku this week.
Trey McBride, Cardinals
If we had to draft this season all over again, I feel confident in saying that Trey McBride would likely be a fourth or fifth-round pick. The Bears let up the fourth-most receptions to opposing tight ends along with a 76.9% catch percentage, which is a really strong statistic. Moreover, the Bears’ defense doesn’t let up a ton of big plays, but they do allow a lot of short passes in the middle of the field, which is prime McBride territory.
Cade Otton, Buccaneers
