The Best Pick in Each Round of Your Fantasy Football Draft

We will let you know who is the best pick in each round of a 12-man .5 PPR fantasy draft based on their current ADP.

Round 1

Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons

Robinson is currently being drafted as the seventh overall pick and is my RB1 overall. He will be the best running back in fantasy football this year which makes him an incredible value when you consider he's the third running back off the board. That is why he narrowly edges out Amon-Ra St. Brown at pick eight as the best pick in the most important round.

Round 2

Derrick Henry, Baltimore Ravens

King Henry may not be the best player in Round 2, but the fact that he's going all the way down at pick 20 makes him the best pick. He's going behind a handful of unproven and aging wide receivers.

It's hard to imagine that he'll be anything but great in a backfield with Lamar Jackson, especially when you consider the second-best back on the Ravens is expected to miss at least the first month as he recovers from an ACL tear. Expect Henry to be a touchdown machine with the opportunity to run through the biggest holes he has seen in years in 2024.

Round 3

Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City Chiefs

We continue with our trend of running backs here with Pacheco, who is being drafted 29th overall as the RB11 this year. There is no reason he can't finish as a top five-to-eight back this season. Late last year we got a glimpse of how good he could be with a full workload and in 2024 we'll get to see him as a workhorse back for the entire season.

Round 4

Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills

Kincaid is the last tight end being drafted in the first tier of elite options. This is the guy I'm hoping to walk away with in every draft if possible. His price isn't nearly as high as guys like Trey McBride and Sam LaPorta and there is no reason he can't put up just as much production. With Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis out in Buffalo, we project Kincaid to be Josh Allen's top target in the Bills' offense.

Round 5

Rhamondre Stevenson, New England Patriots

This is a back I've always been higher than most on. It paid dividends in 2022 and hurt me in 2023. I still believe in his talent and expect him to have a bounce-back year in an improved Patriots' offense.

Last year, Stevenson dealt with health issues and was in one of the worst offenses in the NFL. Their offense will still be bottom half but not nearly as bad as it was with Mac Jones under center. Stevenson will return to the three-down monster he was two seasons ago.

Round 6

Diontae Johnson, Carolina Panthers

This is the player I probably have the most exposure to so far this summer. I also considered Zack Moss in this round, but as the WR38 Johnson is such a steal here.

As bad as the Panthers were last season, Bryce Young showed he can sustain a high-end WR1 over a long period of time and he didn't have a single weapon close to the talent of Johnson. He will see a ton of volume and be able to do much more with it than Adam Thielen could last season who was a top 10 overall wideout after Thanksgiving last season.

Round 7

David Njoku, Cleveland Browns

This was the toughest round for me so far. Njoku and Brian Robinson were very tough to pick between. However, Njoku is the last TE before a huge drop-off. He's the last tight end I want as my TE1 and he's being drafted much later than he should be. A fear of Deshaun Watson is devaluing him and you should take full advantage of his depressed ADP.

Round 8

Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

This isn't a great round but there are three quarterbacks I'd love to walk away with if I've waited this long to draft a QB1. Jayden Daniels, Tua Tagovailoa and Jared Goff are all great options.

They are being picked back-to-back-to-back, with Goff going last. We decided to go with Goff here because he is the cheapest even if very slightly, and his schedule is among the most favorable in the league this season. He is known to be outstanding when playing indoor games and he only has three outdoor games on his schedule for the entirety of the 2024 season.

Round 9

Gus Edwards, Los Angeles Chargers

Chase Brown should also get an honorable mention here because he has the potential to be a league winner in 2024. Nevertheless, we went with the safer option in Edwards.

The former Miami Hurricane great continues to produce in the NFL even if he is often overlooked. He will serve as the RB1 in a run-heavy offense for the Chargers and will be the goal-line back. This isn't a sexy pick but you'll be glad you made it when you're able to plug him into your flex week in and week out.

Round 10

Tyler Lockett, Seattle Seahawks

Every year the fantasy community predicts the downfall of Lockett and every year he comes out and produces. Being able to draft him in the double-digit rounds as the WR51 is highway robbery.

The wideouts going before and after him are Curtis Samuel and Khalil Shakir. They are nowhere near his level and neither will any other wideout who you will draft from here on out.

Round 11

Kendre Miller, New Orleans Saints

There are some sneaky good picks in this round with a ton of upside. Joshua Palmer could easily end up being the WR1 for the Chargers and Rico Dowdle may be the top back in Dallas. However, I am going with Miller here who I projected to be the RB3 in the 2023 NFL Draft class behind only Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs.

I believe he will take over as the early-down back in New Orleans this season and be a league winner. By 2025, he will have fully replaced Alvin Kamara in that offense and will be drafted at least seven rounds higher than he is currently.

Round 12

Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers

This is a tough round because wideouts like Dontayvion Wicks or even Gabe Davis could give you value for a much longer stretch of the season. With that said, Hubbard finished last year off very strong and put RB1 numbers down the stretch and in the playoffs.

You will be getting that same guy in a better situation for the first few months of the season if you draft him in Round 12. The issue is that Jonathon Brooks will eventually get healthy and take over this starting job. We don't expect the rookie to start seeing serious volume for at least the first two months of the season, which gives Hubbard a ton of value both on your roster and as potential trade bait. Just understand the risk here and don't plan on depending on him for the playoffs. Nonetheless, a potential starter for half the season is tough to find this late.

Round 13

Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints

No tight end has more upside than Hill on any given week because he can also be both a quarterback and a running back. This is a great guy to grab if you waited forever on the position. The guy accounted for seven TDs last season, 11 in 2022, 9 in 2021, 13 in 2020, and 11 in 2019. The point is, he consistently scores TDs year in and year out while coming off a season where he also saw 81 carries and 40 targets. Every year he blows away his ADP.

Round 14

Demario Douglas, New England Patriots

Douglas has the potential to be the WR1 on the Pats and showed flashes last season of being a PPR monster. It's nearly impossible to get a WR1 on any team in Round 14, so this one is a no-brainer. If Drake Maye is better than we expect him to be this season, the offense could be much better than anticipated.

Round 15

Keaton Mitchell, Baltimore Ravens

For Round 15 we went with every player still available and I love rolling the dice on Mitchell. If you have an IR slot he's worth stashing in it. Prior to tearing his ACL during his rookie campaign last season, he proved to be one of the most explosive and efficient backs in the league.

If he gets healthy, he could be a league winner for you in the second half of the season. If Derrick Henry were to miss any time Mitchell would be a home run pick.
