The Cowboys have continued to list veteran journeyman Chuma Edoga as the starter at left tackle. This despite Dallas drafting Oklahoma’s Tyler Guyton in the first round this past April and Guyton having a generally strong training camp. Edoga was part of Sunday’s starting lineup as well, but his time on the field didn’t last very long.
Edoga was out of the lineup rather quickly, replaced by Guyton, and word has come down why the swap. Edoga suffered a toe injury, and has since been ruled out for the remainder of the game
The Dallas defense bent but didn’t break on their opening drive, keeping the Los Angeles Rams to three points in the exhibition opener. There were no such things on drive No. 2.
That’s because on 3rd-and-8 they didn’t allow a completion nor conversion. Instead they gave the ball back to their offense courtesy of safety Markquese Bell. Commonly thought to be No. 4 on the depth chart after spending most of the 2023 as a linebacker due to attrition, Bell announced that he should not be overlooked.

Sean McVay called Jordan Whittington a "mature rookie" after the sixth-round pick had six catches for 74 yards. "He played like a grown man with the ball in his hands [and] did a great job without it," McVay said. "I just really like him. He's going to be a factor for us."

Last summer, it was Puka Nacua turning heads in training camp and the preseason, which eventually landed him in the Rams’ starting lineup in Week 1. It seems like Jordan Whittington is the one capturing the hearts of Rams fans everywhere this preseason because he’s already off to a great start.
On the Rams’ opening drive of their first preseason game Sunday, Whittington caught two passes for 43 yards. He caught a nice 13-yard pass from Stetson Bennett over the middle for the quarterback’s first completion of the game, and then he hauled in a 30-yarder in tight coverage later on in the drive

Stetson Bennett was in the midst of a horrendous preseason performance against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, throwing four interceptions in what seemed like a sure loss for the Los Angeles Rams. But after a shaky first 57 minutes of the game, he totally redeemed himself in the final 3 minutes.
He led the Rams on a 13-play, 70-yard drive in just 2:48 to win the game, hitting Miller Forristall for a touchdown with only 4 seconds left to win the game against Dallas. It was a terrific play by the second-year quarterback, escaping the pocket to his left and throwing on the run to the tight end who was open in the end zone.
