Packers rookie RB MarShawn Lloyd suffered a hamstring injury during today's preseason game vs. the Browns.

Jordan Love hits Dontayvion Wicks for a 65-yard TD on the third play of the game.

Look at rookie QB Michael Pratt haul ass and throw a shoulder as the lead blocker. LaFleur is gonna dream about this play tonight.

Lukas Van Ness makes at least a play most days in camp. He already has a sack and two run stops today.

Packers win, 23-10. MarShawn Lloyd's hamstring the only announced injury. Lukas Van Ness, Devonte Wyatt, Evan Williams, Grant DuBose among the standouts.

Josh Jacobs averaging seven yards per carry as a Packer.

Matt LaFleur told @ashleyjwashburn at half that he wanted the defense to create a takeaway. On the first play of the second half, a takeaway. Rookie safety Evan Williams, who's been having a solid camp, forces it. Kristian Welch recovers.

And that's why Daniel Whelan has been uncontested in camp.

Grant DuBose's catches are nice, but it's plays like these that will help him crack the WR depth chart on the 53. Motions inside pre snap and gets dirty in the blocking game against none other than Packers legend Tony Brown.
@packers: .@1kEmanuelWilson scores from five yards out!

Anders Carlson curls it inside the right upright from 46 as time expires to give the Packers a 17-3 halftime lead. Nice throw from Rodgers -- I mean Clifford -- and even better catch from Jared Cook -- I mean Grant DuBose -- to get them into FG range with 10 seconds left.

Jaire Alexander not playing because of a personal matter.
@packers: These players are not expected to play in today's game.

Good work by Emanuel Wilson and his blockers on that drive. Telfort, DuBose, Melton, Joel Wilson and Rhyan getting down and dirty out front. Wilson punches it in from 5 yards out and the Packers lead, 14-3.

On that play, Bullard was in the slot with Williams and Johnson deep. RobDemovsky: Nice drive by Sean Clifford and the 2s. Clifford hits Heath for 14, Dubose twice for 13 and 14, while Wilson runs 7 times for 36 yards and a TD. The line was Dillard, Newman, Rhyan, Monk and Telfort.

What a collision by safety Anthony Johnson to take out rookie guard Javion Cohen on that run before the 2-minute warning.

Miss the Green Bay Packers preseason-opening win over the Cleveland Browns on Saturday? We have you covered.
The Packers started fast, took control in the first half and cruised to a two-score win. Matt LaFleur’s team scored on the opening possession, didn’t have a turnover, committed only three penalties and mostly controlled the line of scrimmage. You can read our recap here and our instant analysis here.
Highlight plays from the Packers included Jordan Love’s 65-yard touchdown pass to Dontayvion Wicks, a sack for Lukas Van Ness, a fourth-down catch from Grant DuBose, a tough touchdown run by Emanuel Wilson, a sack for Colby Wooden, a toe-dragging sideline grab by DuBose, field goals from Anders Carlson and Greg Joseph, a forced fumble by Evan Williams, a nifty 23-yard run by Wilson, a fourth-down pass breakup by Arron Mosby, a spinning catch from Julian Hicks and a big run from Jarveon Howard

Let me tell you: just about EVERYONE looks small next to #Browns RT Dawand Jones. (And he said he might've grown an inch this off-season!)

Browns C Luke Wypler will require surgery after fracturing ankle Saturday. nbcsports.com/nfl/profootbal...

The Cleveland Browns safety Vincent Gray left the game against the Green Bay Packers with a groin injury. Gray was seen heading into the locker room with the trainers.
Grey was a late addition to the Browns last season. The safety from the University of Michigan signed with the Browns’ practice squad in November. He played in the team’s regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals. He finished the game with 5 tackles and multiple pass breakups. Gray is battling for a spot on the 53-man roster.
The NFL season is always described as a war of attrition and the first half of the Packers’ game has served as a stark reminder that cliches are true for a reason. During the first half, the Browns lost safety Ronnie Hickman Jr., Luke Wypler, and David Bell. Hopefully, Gray will be able to return during the second half. The Browns trail the Packers 17-3 at the halftime mark

The pursuit of San Francisco 49ers’ All-Pro wide receiver looks to have come to an end for the Cleveland Browns, one that reportedly included potentially sending Amari Cooper to the Bay Area.
And the Pro Bowler in Cleveland has seemingly heard the noise surrounding his name, taking to Instagram to say “lol I wouldn’t mind at all.” This came after a report that the Browns had an agreement in place for Brandon Aiyuk, sending Cooper, a second round pick, and a fifth round pick to the Niners.

Last year, the Cleveland Browns had one of the best defenses in the NFL. Under first-year defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, the group was disruptive and, at times, lock down in the back end.
But reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett knows there are still areas for improvement for the group in 2024. While appearing on NFL Network this week, Garrett highlighted the team’s struggles in the red zone and how they often looked like a different group on the road compared to at home.

The Cleveland Browns are set for their preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers, but they will be doing so without quarterback Deshaun Watson and 25 other players.
The Browns typically opt to only play their starters sparingly in the preseason, and their opener will not be one of those games where they suit the majority of them up. This means those bottom-of-the-roster players who are fighting for a chance to make the 53-man roster or a spot on the practice squad will get a great audition opportunity in front of their coaches and front office personnel

The Cleveland Browns had a decent showing from their starters in the preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers. Quarterback Jameis Winston led a scoring drive, making some nice throws.
However, after quarterback Tyler Huntley came into the game, the Browns did not have much luck moving the ball offensively. Until Dorian Thompson-Robinson, the preseason hero from a year ago, came onto the field. It was under Thompson-Robinson’s guidance that the Browns found their first touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter

After a season with tremendous injury unluck, the bug has already struck the Cleveland Browns again, as center Luke Wypler was carted off against the Green Bay Packers.
After the game, head coach Kevin Stefanski was fast to mention that Wypler will be undergoing surgery following the injury to his ankle. There is no timetable on his return, but he will undoubtedly be placed on Injured Reserve once he is placed on the initial 53-man roster first.
For the Browns now, they are down two centers to injuries already as they were forced to release veteran Brian Allen with an injury designation during the first week of training camp. The Browns will likely have to dip back into the free agent market to find another interior offensive linemen that can play center as they currently do not have a backup to Ethan Pocic
