Jac Caglianone | Fantasy Outlook

Jac Caglianone is locked in and smashing home runs at an elite pace.

The young outfielder is absolutely scorching at the plate, hitting .375 with six home runs and 12 RBI over his last 14 days, including home runs in three straight games. He has fully secured his role as the everyday starter in right field, providing a massive boost to a fifth-place Royals squad (32-46) that is currently missing key bats like Vinnie Pasquantino due to injury.

While his 1.236 OPS over the last two weeks is bound for some regression, the rookie's immense raw power is entirely legitimate. He has already slugged 12 home runs this year, nearly eclipsing our full-season projection of 14. Though his current .275 average might settle closer to our projected .236 mark due to a high strikeout rate, his middle-of-the-order presence makes him a highly sustainable source of power.

The Royals have a busy seven-game road slate this week, starting with a four-game series against Tampa Bay where he will face tough arms like Drew Rasmussen (2.59 ERA) before matching up against more vulnerable starters like Ian Seymour (5.27 ERA). The week wraps up with three games against the White Sox, culminating in a matchup with Anthony Kay (4.76 ERA).
