10-Team Points Fantasy Basketball Mock Draft from 6th Position: Domantas Sabonis, Pascal Siakam, Dejounte Murray, Rudy Gobert, Tyler Herro and More
Morgan conducts his third fantasy basketball draft of the year, selecting sixth in a 10-team standard points setup.
It’s time for another fantasy basketball mock draft!
This one was done through ESPN and was a 10-team head-to-head points league. I drafted from the sixth slot. There were 10 starting slots (PG, SG, SF, PF, C, G, F, three utility) and three bench slots.

Round 1 - Domantas Sabonis
Sabonis was my selection in round 1 after the five guys I really wanted were all taken. I went with Sabonis over others because of his well-rounded averages - him being eligible at PF or C also is a nice bonus.
Round 2 - Jalen Brunson
Brunson was my round 2 pick. Brunson provides me with some scoring that I passed on in round one and also has good assist averages. I think there’s still room for growth in his game, and think this was a value pick, even though it’s only round 2.
Round 3 - Pascal Siakam
I nabbed a power forward in Siakam in round 3. He is a good scorer and adds in a decent amount of boards and assists for a big man. What I like most is that he plays a ton of games most seasons, which is what you want in a points league.
Round 4 - Dejounte Murray
Murray is another player who plays a bunch, and that appealed to me in round 4. He’s a good scorer and has better assist, rebound and steal numbers than a lot of people probably think. He’s eligible at SG or PG, which is another plus.
Round 5 - Coby White
White was my pick in round 5 and is another player with SG or PG eligibility on ESPN. He had a breakout season in 2023-24, and I think he’s in line for even bigger averages in his points and assists - he’s also a decent rebounder for a guard and plays a lot and logs heavy minutes.
Round 6 - Rudy Gobert
I’m not really a huge fan of Gobert, but he’s a pretty solid fantasy player and was my pick in round 6. He’s a walking double-double, and also tacks on a bunch of blocks.
Round 7 - Kyle Kuzma
Kuzma was my selection in round 7. He’s a bit of a sleeper in my eyes, with a healthy amount of points, boards and assists per game. He fills my SF spot and also has PF eligibility, which is another plus.
Round 8 - Michael Porter Jr.
I grabbed another SF in round 8 with Porter. He’s a good scorer and rebounder, played just about every game last season and averaged over 30 minutes a game - that’s what I’m looking for this deep in a draft.
Round 9 - Tyler Herro
Herro adds another PG/SG option for me in round 9. I think he’s kind of flying under the radar after only playing in 42 games last season. He averages 20ish points a game to go along with a healthy amount of boards and rebounds. This could be a major draft steal by the end of the season.
Round 10 - Collin Sexton
Sexton is another SG/PG option and I got him in round 10. His best fantasy asset is his scoring, but he also averaged a good amount of assists last season.
Round 11 - Jabari Smith Jr.
Smith was my selection in round 11 and has eligibility at PF and C. He improved his averages pretty much across the board in his second season, and I expect and even bigger leap in year three. As a bench option to start, I’m more than happy to take a chance on Smith.
Round 12 - Bobby Portis
Portis was my pick in round 12 - he can only play the PF spot to begin the season. He’s a good source of points and rebounds, even if he’s coming off the bench. Portis played all 82 games last season, which was the most appealing thing about him.
Round 13 - Ausar Thompson
I took another gamble on a young player in round 13 with Thompson. He was pretty solid as a rookie, doing most of his fantasy damage as a scorer and rebounder. I expect his averages to go way up this season, and if they do, this will be another draft steal.
Final Thoughts
When taking a look at my roster after the mock draft ended, I wasn’t quite as satisfied as I was with my first or second mocks.
Outside of my couple early picks, I feel like I didn’t land a bunch of fantasy stars and instead took solid/slightly above-average guys. I do have solid depth at all five positions, but I just feel like more of a fringe playoff team than a true fantasy title contender. I think prioritizing SF earlier would have helped quite a bit in the final look of my team.
But by drafting players with eligibility at a couple spots and prioritizing who can fill up the stat sheet and play most games, that might be enough to carry my team through the season/playoffs - as long as I could avoid major injuries to my top guys of course.
I’m already looking forward to my next mock draft. Check back soon for that!
