Cam Newton Is Fantasy Football's Top Streaming Quarterback In Week 11

Matt Brandon Nov 18th 4:15 PM EST.

Streaming quarterbacks has become an acceptable strategy in the world of fantasy football. Thankfully, we are only dealing with two teams on bye in Week 11 (the Los Angeles Rams and Denver Broncos). Fantasy owners will have to find replacements for Matthew Stafford and Teddy Bridgewater

For the purposes of this article, we are going to focus on players who are owned in fewer leagues and who we know are starting in Week 11. There are not a lot of trustworthy options at the quarterback position this week, so you might have to take a gamble that you aren’t quite comfortable with.

So with that, let’s take a look at a few potential options to stream at the quarterback position in Week 11.

Quarterback Streaming Options

Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers

In his return to the Panthers, Superman produced touchdowns on each of his first two plays in Carolina’s thrashing of the Cardinals. With Sam Darnold out for the rest of the season, Newton is poised to take over as the starter. He is clearly more talented than P.J. Walker and Matt Rhule has already said that Cam will start in Week 11 against a Washington defense that allows the most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Plus, superstar defensive end Chase Young has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

The Panthers have some decent weapons for Newton to work with, as Christian McCaffrey is the best running back in the league and D.J. Moore has flashed tremendous upside at the wide receiver position. Not only can Newton accumulate fantasy points with his arm, but he is also one of the best in the league at getting into the end zone with his legs in goal-line situations. Newton has top-10 upside against Washington in Week 11.

Mac Jones, New England Patriots

Heading into a Super Bowl LI rematch with the Atlanta Falcons, Jones is one of the top streaming options at the quarterback position. Jones doesn’t have a very high ceiling but his floor is pretty safe. The rookie out of Alabama gets a Falcons secondary that is allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Although the Patriots are a run-heavy offense and Damien Harris is expected to return to action this week, it’s likely that Jones will challenge Atlanta’s depleted secondary. Jones was almost perfect last Sunday against the Browns. He threw for 198 yards and three touchdowns without turning the ball over. While it may be difficult for Jones to break 20 fantasy points, he should be good for at least 17. Expect him to continue to get Kendrick Bourne and Jakobi Meyers the ball. Plus, tight end Hunter Henry has been a touchdown machine in the red zone.

Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

Tua suited up for Miami’s Week 10 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens, however, he was unexpected to actually take any snaps until Jacoby Brissett went down with an injury. Tagovailoa played a pivotal role in Miami’s upset victory over Lamar Jackson’s Ravens. This week, Tagovailoa gets a juicy matchup against a New York Jets defense that is incredibly generous. The Jets rank in the bottom third of the league at defending opposing quarterbacks, but it’s what this defense has done over it’s last four games that is even more eye-opening. Gang Green has allowed 472.5 yards and 43.8 points per game over their last four games. Tua has an excellent chance to finish within the top 12 quarterbacks in Week 11 despite the absence of DeVante Parker and Will Fuller.

Tyrod Taylor, Houston Texans

If you are absolutely desperate for a quarterback this week, the man known as “TyGod” could be an option. Taylor has only played three games thus far this season. He produced 16+ points in two of those outings, but he really struggled in his most recent game against the Dolphins in which he put up just 5.9 fantasy points. Fortunately for Taylor, he gets a Titans defense that allows the fifth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. It also helps that the Texans will likely be playing catch up and that Taylor can use his legs to accumulate fantasy points.
