2023 Fantasy Football Free Agency Update: OBJ Eyes Return to Cement Legacy!
There has been a rumor floating around that the top coveted free agent for some time now, Odell Beckham Jr, was looking for a deal that would pay him 22 million per year last season.
However, it seems unlikely that Beckham will receive this sum unless he can demonstrate his outstanding performance on the field. Although he played well in the playoffs in 2021, he suffered a torn cruciate ligament in his knee in Super Bowl LVI, which has put him on the mend ever since.

Odell has been training and working out in an impressive manner as he tries to make a comeback, to put together dominant performances in a flash manner. As a matter of fact, the receiver practiced and posted his progress on social media after recovering from a torn cruciate ligament, catching the attention of multiple teams. The Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens are reportedly among the potential suitors.
Despite interest from other teams, the Dallas Cowboys remain in contention for the services of Odell Beckham Jr. The Cowboys have been trying to sign OBJ since last season, but due to his rehab and recovery, they opted against signing him as he would have only been ready by the end of January. Experts are speculating that the Cowboys are still in the running for Odell.
Although he didn't play at all in the 2021 season, OBJ's abilities are no secret. He is arguably still a great receiver and would be a terrific addition to any team. Pairing him with Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City or Lamar Jackson in Baltimore would be an incredible sight. That appears to be the case, as he would be able to make plays after the catch, or be able to haul in passes down the field due to his electrifying speed and great hands when it comes to pass-catching ability. Also, worth noting is that a reunion with the New York Giants could be in the cards as well. Should Odell return to the Giants, he will be heavily relied upon to be a veteran presence for the young inexperienced wide receivers currently on the roster, and mentor them on and off the field.
In a receiver two or three role, Odell Beckham Jr proved to the Rams that his impact could be significant. Despite only playing eight games for Los Angeles, the former LSU player recorded 27 receptions for 305 yards and five touchdowns, proving his postseason worth.
Odell Beckham Jr might be able to accept a deal worth $20m a year, but that could turn out to be a one-year contract in a best-case scenario. That appears to be the case, as he will be able to play with a significant amount of swagger and put the league on notice once again with his highlight-reel performances to cement his legacy!
