Start Dameon Pierce or Joshua Kelley
Last week against the Dolphins, Kelley was awesome. This week he gets the chance to be the undisputed starter and get the lion's share of the carries because Austin Ekeler will not play this week due to an ankle injury. The only issue is that he draws one of if not the toughest run defenses in the NFL in the Tennessee Titans. This really complicates things. He goes from being a smash start to a risky start with upside.
Pierce is an excellent back stuck in a bad offense. He's the best player on the Texans' offense and should be loaded with touches, however, that wasn't the case in Week 1. It seems they want to feature Mike Boone as their passing down back, which is a concern because it's possible for Pierce to be game-scripted out when Houston is trailing, which they often are. Last week, Pierce played on 45% of the snaps and rushed 11 times for 38 yards seeing three targets that he turned into two receptions for nine yards.
We do expect the game script to be better this week against the Indianapolis Colts who aren't going to win many games this season, but their defense is still solid. Nevertheless, this week we are going to start Joshua Kelley over Pierce because we expect him to get plenty of work in the passing game which will bump him very slightly above Pierce. Pierce's workload is a concern with Boone and also Devin Singletary getting involved.

Start Javonte Williams or Joshua Kelley
Next, we have the miracle man Javonte Williams who is back off ACL surgery and running surprisingly well. Last week he saw 45% of snaps but was the clear leader in touches. He saw 13 carries that he took for 52 yards, and perhaps more importantly he saw six targets to Samaje Perine's four. Those targets only turned into five yards, but still. This week he matches up against the Washington Commanders who allowed James Conner to rush for 4.4 yards per carry against them last week. This makes this decision just as hard as the last one. However, we are giving Kelley the edge simply because he's in a much better offense and will have more opportunities to score a TD.

Start Jahmyr Gibbs or Joshua Kelley
Gibbs didn't get the workload we were hoping for last week but was absolutely electric when he touched the ball. Despite only playing 27% of the snaps he still rushed for 42 yards on 6.0 yards per carry and caught two passes. The workload or lack thereof definitely scares us here, but the Lions are a great offense with what looks like it may be one of the best offensive lines in the league. His matchup against the Seahawks is also great. This one could backfire, nonetheless, we are going to chase the upside here.
Start: Gibbs
Start Tyler Allgeier or Joshua Kelley
The Falcons want to run the ball. Then they want to run it again. Then they want to run a little more. Last week, Allgeier played 56% of snaps compared to Bijan Robinson's 63%, but he outtouched Bijan. Allgeier carried the ball 15 times for 75 yards and two TDs adding three receptions for 19 yards on the ground. At the end of the day, Atlanta ran the ball 26 times compared to 18 pass attempts, and of the 15 completions, nine of them went to the running backs. Allgeier wasn't a one-week wonder and he's going to be a major part of this offense which may be more dominant on the ground and winning more games than many people realize.
Start: Allgeier
Start Breece Hall or Joshua Kelley
Hall is an unbelievable talent and looked incredible last week. From a talent perspective, he already looks like he's top five in the league. However, we want nothing to do with the Jets' offense this week. Zach Wilson is going to try to lead the way against the Dallas Cowboys' defense. It's hard to fathom how this offense scores a TD against Dallas. We don't expect them to move the ball at all and they'll likely have to throw a ton after falling behind immediately. Hall's only path to success is to catch a bunch of screen passes and pile up PPR value and hope to break off a big play. That's too risky for our blood.
