Lowest ERAs
For pitchers who have at least pitched nine innings, several have posted strong earned run averages so far.
Athletics' J.T. Ginn has a 1.64 ERA, allowing two runs over 11 frames. His 11 innings lead Triple-A pitchers. He has surrendered five hits and two walks, while striking out a whopping 19 batters.
Ginn is the team's No. 14 prospect and worked 34 MLB innings in 2024. It's only a matter of time before Ginn gets called back up, otherwise another team is going to make a deal for him and immediately call him up.
Houston's Colton Gordon has allowed one run on five hits and two walks over his first 10 1/3 innings. He has nine strikeouts so far.
He's the Astros' No. 16 prospect and has a 2025 ETA. He might not be a really highly-regarded pitching prospect, but a career 3.65 ERA and 362 punchouts over 315 2/3 innings should have him on your watch list in deeper dynasty leagues.
Tampa Bay's Ian Seymour has allowed a run on seven hits and a walk over his first 10 innings. He has hit a batter and struck out 15 hitters.
Seymour is the team's No. 20 prospect and has a 2025 ETA. Again, we have a pitching prospect who isn't that highly regarded, but a career 2.44 ERA and 333 Ks over 269 1/3 innings definitely should appeal to you. He's worth adding in some deeper dynasties, and should get called up at some point in 2025.
Most Strikeouts
Ginn leads the way with his 19 punchouts. Milwaukee's Logan Henderson is next with 16 strikeouts, while Seymour and San Diego's Ryan Bergert have 15 punchouts each.
Henderson has allowed five runs on nine hits and eight walks over his nine innings. He is the team's No. 13 prospect and has a 2025 ETA. He's got a 3.20 career ERA and 249 strikeouts over 182 2/3 innings and should get a call up at some point in 2025.
Bergert has allowed two runs on nine hits and a walk over his nine innings so far. He's the team's No. 21 prospect and has a 2025 ETA. Bergert has a career 4.21 ERA and 371 strikeouts over 327 innings.
Arizona's Yilber Diaz and Kansas City's Luinder Avila have 11 punchouts each.
Diaz has allowed three runs on 10 hits and four walks over his 9 1/3 innings so far. Diaz is the team's No. 3 prospect and got in 28 1/3 MLB innings in 2024. He should be back up at some point in 2025, otherwise another team will be calling to add him.
Avila allowed a run on a hit and walk in 5 2/3 innings for his first start. He's the No. 19 prospect for the Royals and is expected to debut in 2025. He has logged 423 2/3 career minor league innings so far, posting a 4.44 ERA and racking up 388 strikeouts.
Lowest WHIPs
Among qualified pitchers, Minnesota's Zebby Matthews has the lowest WHIP at 0.20. He did not allow a run on a hit across five innings in his first start. He struck out four and walked none.
He isn't on the team's top-30 prospect list after working 37 2/3 MLB innings and finishing with a 6.69 ERA in 2024. Matthews could definitely get another crack at things if Minnesota is dealing with injuries to its starting rotation.
Minnesota's David Festa and Miami's Adam Mazur had 0.60 WHIPs in their first starts.
Festa did not allow a run across his five innings. He gave up three hits, while striking out four and walking none.
Festa had a 4.90 ERA across 64 1/3 big league innings in 2024. He should get another crack at the big leagues at some point in 2025.
Mazur gave up two runs on two hits and a walk across five frames in his start. He struck out four batters.
Mazur is the team's No. 13 prospect and already had 33 2/3 MLB innings with San Diego in 2024. He had a 7.49 ERA across eight starts, but should get a chance to start for a weak and rebuilding Miami team at some point.
