Week 5 Quarterbacks Injury Report

Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints (Shoulder)

Carr is listed as questionable for Week 5 due to a shoulder injury suffered in Week 3. He wasn't expected to play in Week 4 but ended up gutting it out. Unfortunately, he was clearly limited and Jameis Winston was eventually brought on late in the game. It's unclear if they are going to let him play through the injury again or let him rest and get healthy because last week was ugly. You should find a different option this week for your fantasy team.

Jimmy Garoppolo, Las Vegas Raiders (Concussion)

Jimmy G is still in the concussion protocol. However, he has been practicing so there is still a chance he clears the protocol on time to play this week on Monday Night Football.

Week 5 Running Backs Injury Report

Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts (Ankle)

This is more of a getting into football shape thing than an ankle issue at this point. JT has come out and declared himself fully healthy. There is a good chance he plays this week, but the team could give him one more week to get NFL-ready. If he is active, he could be limited and has a nightmarish matchup with the Tennessee Titans.

Rhamondre Stevenson, New England Patriots (Thigh)

While Stevenson is officially listed as questionable for Week 5, he is fully expected to play this week after getting in limited practices all week. Last week, he handled an even heavier workload than usual after reports surfaced that Ezekiel Elliott would be getting close to RB1 touches. That report was always obvious nonsense because where would someone get that information from? This is the Patriots. It's incredible Ian Rappoport would even report that and think he was accurate.

Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions (Hamstring)

Gibbs was added to the injury report on Friday with a hamstring injury which is never a good sign. All we know right now is that he's listed as questionable, nonetheless, this is a situation worth monitoring.

Saquon Barkley, New York Giants (Ankle)

Barkley was able to get in limited practices all week and looks to be on the right side of questionable. However, he is not a lock to play and could be a game-time decision. You may want to roster Matt Breida if you are relying on Saquon.

Justice Hill, Baltimore Ravens (Foot/Hamstring)

Hill played through these injuries last week but had a very limited role. He is listed as questionable for Week 5. While we expect him to be active this week, his workload is still very much up in the air.

Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams (Hip)

It looks like Williams will be able to play through his questionable tag this week, but it remains to be seen how close to 100% he is. Hips can be tricky. He also has a horrendous matchup against the Eagles this week.

Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers (Hamstring)

Jones returned last week and was able to practice this week. He is listed as questionable but appears to be good to go. Fantasy owners have to hope that he is no longer on a snap count.

Javonte Williams, Denver Broncos (Quad)

It's looking like Williams may be able to give it a go this week, which will make the Broncos' backfield a mess. You are probably better off leaving Williams, Jaleel McLaughlin, and Samaje Perine on your bench this week.

Miles Sanders, Carolina Panthers (Groin)

Sanders has been limited and ineffective playing through a groin injury and wasn't great when he was healthy. This week he will likely play again, but has the worst possible fantasy matchup for a running back against the Detroit Lions. He should be avoided completely.

Week 5 Wide Receivers Injury Report

Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams (Hamstring)

Kupp is expected to make his season debut this week for the Rams. It's unclear if he will be on a snap count, but if you drafted him in the first round and already lost four weeks it's hard to imagine you will be leaving him on your bench.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions (Abdomen)

St. Brown is doubtful for Week 5 and not expected to play. This is a tough loss for fantasy owners. Josh Reynolds and Kalif Raymond are the most likely beneficiaries of his absence while Jameson Williams will be a high-upside dart throw. Reynolds is also listed as questionable with a groin injury of his own, but seems like he'll probably be active.

Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals (Ribs)

It looked like Higgins was destined to miss Week 5, but after getting a limited practice in on Friday and being listed as questionable there is now some doubt cast on that. This is a situation to monitor as he'll likely be a game-time decision. Tyler Boyd will get a significant bump in value if Higgins is ruled out.

Treylon Burks, Tennessee Titans (Knee)

Burks has once again been ruled out with a knee injury. The Titans could get Kyle Phillips back this week for whatever that's worth.

Deebo Samuel, San Francisco 49ers (Ribs/Knee)

Samuel is once again expected to gut it out through injury. If you start him, you do run the risk of him once again being a decoy.

Week 5 Tight Ends Injury Report

Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers (Hamstring)

Frieiermuth is not expected to play this week and has not practiced. His hamstring injury is expected to keep him out this week and at least one more game after that. Darnell Washington is expected to get the start.

Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints (Calf)

Johnson has not been able to practice this week and will likely miss Week 5. By the time you're reading this he will probably have been ruled out.
