Fantasy Football Snap & Target Report Week 9: Garrett Wilson, Keaton Mitchell, Dalton Kincaid
Although the season may not be in the home stretch, for fantasy purposes, it’s getting near the end. Even with an expanded 18-week schedule, this is officially the halfway point. Teams who have already had their bye have played eight games, and all other teams have played nine. From a fantasy perspective, the playoffs start much sooner. Most leagues don’t consider the final week of the season, making Week 17 the championships. Week 13 or 14 becomes the first round, making these next few weeks the final opportunity to make a run for the postseason.

Fantasy Football Snap & Target Report Week 9
With that in mind, it’s imperative to know who is getting the hot hand. Over the last three weeks, there are nine receivers who have been targeted 30 times or more:
Fantasy Football Target Leaders Weeks 7-9
- WR Garrett Wilson, New York Jets (38)
- WR Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins (38)
- WR CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys (37)
- TE T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings (33)
- WR Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals (33)
- WR A.J. Brown, Philadephia Eagles (32)
- WR Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints (32)
- WR Stefon Diggs, Buffalo Bills (31)
- WR Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers (30)
Of these nine receivers, six of them have a catch rate of 70% or higher. (Ja'Marr Chase is sitting at 69% and tied for fourth on the season with 64 receptions).
The six with high catch rates are all in the top 10 in receptions: Diggs leads the league with 70 receptions and Hill (69), Brown (67), Thielen (62), Hockenson (60), and Lamb (57) follow shortly behind.
This is a deadly combination: a ton of targets, a ton of catches, and a high completion percentage.
Fantasy Football Catch Rate Leaders
For the season, there are only six receivers who have been targeted 40 times or more and have a catch percentage over 80%. Four of them are TEs, which proves this isn’t just a throwaway position. Oftentimes, having a solid TE on a roster can be the difference in putting a team over the top. Think about the NFL: Tom Brady had Robert Gronkowski, and Patrick Mahomes has Travis Kelce.
The six receivers are:
- TE Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears: 492 snaps, 50 targets, 89% catch rate
- TE Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills: 352 snaps, 45 targets, 89% catch rate
- TE Evan Engram, Jacksonville Jaguars: 426 snaps, 61 targets, 84% catch rate
- WR Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers: 519 snaps, 76 targets, 82% catch rate
- TE Jonnu Smith, Atlanta Falcons: 377 snaps, 42 targets, 81% catch rate
- WR Curtis Samuel, Washington Commanders: 318 snaps, 43 targets, 81% catch rate
Three receivers fell just short of the 80% mark. CeeDee Lamb and Travis Kelce each have a 79% catch rate, and Kansas City Chiefs rookie Rashee Rice is at 78% on 41 targets.
Fantasy Football Running Back Usage Report
This past week, there were four RBs who had over 50 snaps:
- Tony Pollard, Dallas Cowboys: 58 snaps, 15 touches, 51 rushing yards
- Devin Singletary, Houston Texans: 54 snaps, 15 touches, 26 rushing yards
- Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 53 snaps, 24 touches, 73 rushing yards, 2 TDs
- Joe Mixon, Cincinnati Bengals: 51 snaps, 19 touches, 37 rushing yards, 1 TD
There were also two RBs who had monster games this week and are most likely available in your leagues:
Keaton Mitchell, Baltimore Ravens: Mitchell led all RBs this week with 138 rushing yards on only nine rushes. However, he only played 14 snaps and had 10 touches in the game, and it was only the second game this season he’s seen the field. He is worth adding, but his role needs to expand to be a weekly starter.
Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers: Warren has played each week, but in a limited capacity. Before this week, he hadn’t had double-digit rushes. In 26 snaps this week, he had 14 touches with 11 rushes for 88 yards. He added an additional 25 receiving yards on three targets. He’s actually been very effective all year catching the ball out of the backfield. On the year, he’s had 56 rushes for 263 yards and 35 receptions for 209 yards.
