Last week against Jacksonville we got to see the 49ers at full strength. Brock Purdy played a terrific game and probably could have had another one or two touchdowns at the end of the game if they let him stay in. What makes this matchup great is that Tampa mixes up their defensive coverages and San Francisco has receivers who thrive against these coverages. Deebo Samuel thrives against zone coverage if Tampa plays it and Brandon Aiyuk thrives against man coverage if Tampa chooses to play that instead. Moreover, Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle are good against any type of coverage. The 49ers know they're in a dogfight to win this division and I don't think there's any way that Purdy doesn't play an exceptional game on Sunday.
Running Back
Tony Pollard, Dallas Cowboys
Last week on Sunday morning in the Discord on DrRoto.com, I told everybody to play Devin Singletary. This may have seemed counterintuitive considering Singletary was so awful the week prior. I feel the same way about Pollard this week. Everybody expected him to dominate the New York Giants and instead, we saw Dak Prescott throw the ball to CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks. I think this week we see Dallas establish their run game. Carolina allows 4.63 YPC along with 13 rushing touchdowns. Dallas wants to control the clock and the one thing about the Panthers that nobody discusses is that they have a very good pass rush. Knowing this, Pollard will be a mainstay in all of my Visionary lineups.
Wide Receiver
Tank Dell, Houston Texans
Defensive coverages make such a big difference in wide receiver production. Tank Dell thrives against zone defenses as he just finds a way to get into an area where he's unseen because he's small and quick. The Cardinals make a lot of mistakes on defense, and they give up 9.44 YPT. Moreover, they've allowed the 10th most receiving yards to opposing receivers. With Nico Collins, Robert Woods, and Noah brown all questionable with injuries, the one guarantee feels like Dell. I'm locking him in for at least 90 yards and a touchdown.
Tight End
T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings
I could have gone a lot of different ways but I think I fall back to the fact that Josh Dobbs just has had great comfort in throwing to tight ends thus far. Trey McBride and Zach Ertz thrived when Dobbs was with the Cardinals and now Hockenson has been incredible with Dobbs in his short stay with Minnesota. Denver has allowed 8.99 YPT and a 79.7% catch rate to opposing tight ends. As much as I love Justin Jefferson, I still think this is a Hockenson week so I'm going to lock him in my visionary lineups.
