Best Fantasy Football FAAB Pickups Week 17
WR Demarcus Robinson, Los Angeles Rams
Robinson has stepped up big time for this offense and has given Matthew Stafford a reliable third WR in the offense. He caught six passes for 82 yards and a TD in their big Week 16 win over the Saints and is a deep league option heading into Week 17. The Rams will play the Giants, who are one of the worst teams in the NFL, this week. The Rams should score big-time points, and Robinson should continue to be featured. Bid 55-65% of your remaining budget in deeper leagues, don’t bid anything in 10 or 12-team leagues.
WR Jameson Williams, Detroit Lions
Williams has had some big plays this season, but overall the volume hasn’t been there. However, his involvement in the offense took a step forward in Week 16 as he saw six targets, which was third on the team behind only Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jahmyr Gibbs. Williams was second on the team in receptions and yards and could play a big role in the Lions' offense in Week 17 against a Cowboys defense that is surely going to pay most of their attention to ARSB and Sam LaPorta. Somewhere in the 70-80% range is a good bid.
WR K.J. Osborn, Minnesota Vikings
With Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson both leaving the Vikings' Week 16 loss early, Osborn stepped up big time and was a big reason why the Vikings stuck around in the game. He was second on the team in targets with seven, catching five of them for 96 yards and a TD. Should either Addison or Hockenson miss Week 17, Osborn is going to have an expanded role in the offense and face a Packers team that has been beaten up by opposing offenses the last three weeks. Due to the unknown status of the Vikings' injured pass catchers, a bid in the 35-40% range is the way to go.
WR D.J. Chark, Carolina Panthers
This is surprising for a couple of main reasons. The first reason is that Chark hadn’t caught more than three passes in his nine games before Week 16, and the second reason is that the Panthers are the second-worst passing offense in the NFL. But Chark had his best game of the season against the Packers last week and is now on the fantasy football radar in Week 17 against his former team the Jaguars. The Jags rank in the bottom five of the league in pass defense and Chark is coming off a six-catch, 98-yard, two-TD game. I am considering him a must-add in 14 and 16-team leagues and would spend up to 80% of my remaining FAAB.
TE Chigoziem Okonkwo, Tennessee Titans
He is available in shallower formats and is coming off a game in which he set a season high in catches with six, as well as yards with 63, and scored his first receiving TD. He has a solid matchup against the Texans in Week 17, as they rank towards the bottom of the league against the pass this season and were just torched by Joe Flacco, Amari Cooper, and David Njoku. With the TE position being so inconsistent other than the elite tier, grabbing and playing a guy like Okonkwo to start in Week 17 could be a league-winning decision. Unless you have other needs to address this week, I would spend every FAAB dollar that you have left to ensure you get him.
