Best Fantasy Football FAAB Pickups Week 17
QB Mason Rudolph, Pittsburgh Steelers
Rudolph looked like a star in the Steelers' massive win against the Bengals in Week 16. He threw for 290 yards and two TDs and the biggest note of all was no interceptions. Even if Kenny Pickett is healthy this week, there is no way the Steelers go back to him after Rudolph’s big day. The Steelers are still in the playoff hunt and have a decent matchup against the Seahawks in Week 17. His matchup might be better than your second QB's, so a bid in the 20% range is fair. If you need nothing else, you can spend all your FAAB with this being the final fantasy football week of the year.
QB Taylor Heinicke, Atlanta Falcons
He is back as the starter for the Falcons and looked good in their blowout win over the Colts. He threw for over 225 yards and a TD and completed over 65% of his passes. He also got Kyle Pitts involved, which has been a problem for the Falcons' offense this year with Ridder at QB. He has a good matchup against the Bears this week and should be considered as an addition in 14 and 16-team leagues where you can start two QBs. If you are making multiple moves this week, 15-20% of your remaining budget is fine; however, like with Rudolph and everyone else on the list, if you are only making one move this week, just spend everything you have left.
QB Nick Mullens, Minnesota Vikings
The turnovers hurt in terms of real-life football; however, in fantasy football, they didn’t matter, thanks to the 411 yards and two TDs. He has Justin Jefferson and he is a starting QB this coming week, so that in and of itself is enough to make him worthy of an addition. He is also facing a Packers defense that has been torched by opposing QBs over the past three weeks, even by rookie Bryce Young, who has struggled all season long. I like him more than the other two QBs listed above him thanks to the matchup.
RB Chris Rodríguez, Washington Commanders
In you are in deeper leagues, you can never have enough usable RBs, and Rodriguez has become that as the Commanders' lead rushing threat with Brian Robinson out. Even in a tough matchup last week vs. a great Jets defense, he scored two TDs on the ground and averaged over five yards per carry. The Commanders have a horrible matchup next week against the 49ers, a game that they will likely be blown out in; however, touches and garbage time is all that is needed for Rodriguez to have value for you. Spend 70% of your remaining budget.
RB Khalil Herbert, Chicago Bears
Everyone seemed to think that Roschon Johnson was going to be the lead back for the Bears in Week 16 and yet when push came to shove, it was the veteran Kahlili who not only led the backfield but got double Johnson's amount of carries. Herbert rushed for over 100 yards and a TD while averaging over 5.5 YPC. He and the Bears will host the Falcons in Week 17, and he should be the lead back once again. I’m bidding every FAAB $ I have left if he is available.
