Fantasy Football: Best Ball Mock Draft 2.0
We're back with another Best Ball draft. This time we went with a 10-team league because we know that's what you have in a lot of home leagues which are often the ones we want to win most.
This fantasy football mock draft was an 18-round Best Ball draft done on Underdog in a .5 PPR format. The starting lineup consists of one QB, two RBs, three WRs, one TE and one Flex, and there are 10 bench spots. We switched it up and did a 10-team league with this one.
Pick 1.9
A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles
This time we grabbed a wide receiver in Round 1. There were a handful of running backs I considered here like Saquon Barkley, Jonathan Taylor and Jahmyr Gibbs, however, I decided to roll with a stud wideout to switch things up after going RB in the first so often so far this year.
Pick 2.2
Garrett Wilson, New York Jets
Barkley and Gibbs went back-to-back before my next pick so I grabbed Wilson. This is a guy I love this year and would be shocked if he didn't have a breakout season. With that said, this is the Jets and I said the same thing heading into 2023.
Pick 3.9
Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City Chiefs
Pacheco is one of my favorite picks this year. I have a ton of exposure to him. There is no reason he can't be a top 5-8 back in 2024. Both the talent and volume will be there. He is above Kyren Williams and De'Von Achane in my rankings.
Pick 4.2
Travis Etienne Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars
This is a pick I don't love nearly as much, nonetheless, he was my best player available and I was leaning RB from a roster construction standpoint. I grabbed him over Michael Pittman and George Pickens who were my top wideouts available.
Pick 5.9
Joe Mixon, Houston Texans
With Pickens going one pick before mine, I went with Mixon who I believe will finish as a low-end RB1 this season. Houston wants to run the ball a lot and they are going to give Mixon a ton of touches. I actually like him more than Etienne who I took 17 picks earlier. Playing the ADP game worked out for me here.
Pick 6.2
Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills
Kincaid is generally the last TE being drafted in my top tier of TEs. Any chance I get when things fall right I'll be taking him this summer. He should have all the targets he can handle in Buffalo with Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis gone.
Pick 7.9
Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
Full disclosure, I didn't make this pick. My wifi went crazy and it auto-drafted Pitts when timed out. This isn't a pick I would have ever made, however, it does give me a very strong TE duo.
Pick 8.2
Diontae Johnson, Carolina Panthers
This is another player I've been drafting constantly. I'm clearly higher than him on most because I pick him almost every draft and never understand why he's falling so far.
Pick 9.9
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Prescott is a great value pick at QB who proved he can be a league-winning type of player last season when he was elite over the back half of the season. There are a handful of guys who you can get in this round and later who are viable QB1s.
Pick 10.2
Brian Robinson Jr., Washington Commanders
Robinson and Singletary were the last two backs on the board who are likely to see clear RB1 touches. I went with Robinson over Singletary because he should be just a bit better this season and there is more hope for the Washington offense with a first-round rookie taking over.
Pick 11.9
Jameson Williams, Detroit Lions
This is one of those picks I made because of the best ball format. Williams is a home run hitter who can give you a big week on one or two plays. Consistency won't be his thing but his speed makes him perfect for this format.
Pick 12.2
Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
Goff is another one of those great value picks at quarterback. With only three outdoor games in 2024, he should have one of if not the best season of his career in 2024.
Pick 13.9
Joshua Palmer, Los Angeles Chargers
I believe that Palmer will serve as the WR1 for the Chargers this season. If he does end up with the WR1 role, you can't beat his value this late in the draft.
Pick 14.2
Rico Dowdle, Dallas Cowboys
Dowdle is the odds-on favorite to be the top back in Dallas this season. How much work that will be remains to be seen, but it's worth a shot to snatch him up in the 14th round.
Pick 15.9
Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons
I like to roster three QBs in this format and Cousins was the last left on the board who I felt was worth drafting so I grabbed him here.
Pick 16.2
Kimani Vidal, Los Angeles Chargers
There is a world where Vidal does end up being the RB1 in LA this season. The odds are probably less than 50% but not that much less. It's worth taking a shot on him here as my last running back.
Pick 17.9
Demarcus Robinson, Los Angeles Rams
We saw Robinson come on extremely strong late in 2023. Over the last five fantasy games of the year, he totaled 21 catches on 34 targets for 319 yards and four TDs. He's expected to return to the same role this season and could have a lot of value even if it's not consistent enough for some other formats.
Pick 18.2
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints
I wanted a third TE for my roster and Johnson was the best available. He finished the season on fire and has a proven track record in the red zone. This is a pick I really love in the last round.
