Jurickson Profar Fantasy Outlook
Profar was suspended 80 games on Monday, so it's no surprise to see his own percentage down 14.2% today. He's at just 36% overall now.
At the link above, you'll read about my thoughts on how to approach Profar.
In standard leagues, I'd only keep rostering him if I could throw him in an IR spot. He shouldn't be rostered otherwise.
In deep redraft leagues, I still like the idea of holding him. It comes down to whether or not your fantasy team can remain competitive while burning a roster spot on Profar.
In dynasty and keeper leagues, I think Profar is too valuable to drop, unless it's a very shallow league.
Chris Paddack Fantasy Outlook
Paddack is down 5.9% today, bringing his overall mark to 10%.
He was a streaming option in his first start, but was rocked for nine runs on six hits and four walks. Paddack allowed three homers and struck out just two batters.
He'll have better starts in the games to come, so I'm not going to completely bail on Paddack in all formats. Sure, he'll be hard to trust until he delivers a good fantasy outing, but one rough showing shouldn't affect your thoughts on a pitcher for the entire season.
He'll be back in streaming stories in the future, so simply don't write him off yet.
Kumar Rocker Fantasy Outlook
Rocker is down 5.1% and sits at 55% rostered now.
In his first start, Rocker allowed six runs on seven hits and two walks, while striking out three. He fared pretty well in his 11 2/3 MLB innings in 2024, so again, I'm not ready to bail after one bad outing.
Rocker isn't worth holding onto in standard leagues though, so his dropoff is actually warranted in my eyes. He should be held in deeper leagues for now.
Rocker will be in steaming stories again soon, but most fantasy owners are going to want to see a good outing before trusting him.
Justin Slaten Fantasy Outlook
Slaten is down 4.1% and is now owned in 22% of leagues.
He earned a save in his first appearance of the regular season, which made his own percentage skyrocket. He worked a scoreless inning in his second outing, but also pitched in the eighth inning. Slaten was tagged for four runs in his last outing, which also came in the eighth inning.
I didn't have high hopes for Slaten, even after his save. He's a high-leverage reliever by the looks of it, but isn't likely going to earn regular save opportunities, so his fantasy value isn't all that high.
We'll keep tabs on Slaten, but I think he should be dropped now in almost every fantasy league.
David Bednar Fantasy Outlook
Bednar is down 3.9% and is now rostered in 64% of fantasy leagues. He was optioned down on Monday.
He struggled in 2024, and got off to an awful start in 2025. In his first outing, he took the loss after allowing a run on two hits and a walk. Bednar got a save in his second appearance, but also allowed two runs on a hit and walk in that outing. He took his second loss in his last appearance, allowing an unearned run while not recording an out.
There's no reason to roster Bednar in standard leagues until he's back in the MLB and earning saves again. He can be dropped in most deep redraft leagues as well. Don't completely forget about him, but until he has better MLB results, he's not a fantasy asset in many leagues.
Reynaldo Lopez Fantasy Outlook
Lopez was dropped in 3.5% of leagues and is now rostered in 81% of leagues. He was placed on the 15-day injured list with a shoulder injury - his return timetable is uncertain.
He allowed three runs on nine hits and two walks in his first outing. Lopez pitched five innings.
In leagues where an IR spot is available, that's where I'd place Lopez for the time being. If he's ruled out for several months, or the season, he'll be dropped in a lot more leagues.
We should get word on his status here soon, at which point we can revisit things.
Ceddanne Rafaela Fantasy Outlook
Rafaela was dropped in 3% of leagues, bringing his total mark down to 61%.
In five games and 15 plate appearances so far, Rafaela has one single. He also has an RBI and stolen base. The center fielder has no walks or runs scored, along with three punchouts.
It's been a rough start to the season for a few Boston hitters, and Rafaela is among them. He was a borderline standard league option coming into the season, so his cold start was bound to see him be dropped in fantasy leagues.
He's just a deep-league option at this point, but could also be back to being a standard league option with a couple strong showings. Watch his game logs and our daily waiver wire stories to see if he heats back up.
Jackson Jobe Fantasy Outlook
Jobe was dropped in 2.9% of leagues and is now owned in 75% of leagues.
In his first game, Jobe allowed three runs on three hits and four walks, while striking out three. He's one of the top pitching prospects in the MLB, so I wouldn't let one outing change your outlook on him all that much.
He'll be a streaming option in every start, and once he starts delivering good results, Jobe will be added in most leagues. I still think he's worth stashing in a lot of standard redraft leagues - his upside is worth it, in my opinion.
Cam Smith Fantasy Outlook
Smith made the Houston roster out of spring training, but has gotten off to a slow start. He's rostered in 60% of leagues after being dropped in 2.7% of leagues.
In four games and 14 plate appearances, Smith has two singles and two walks. He also has a run scored and four strikeouts. With no RBIs, extra-base hits or stolen bases, his fantasy value isn't good right now though.
He's another highly-regarded prospect, so like Jobe, I'm not quite ready to move off him. I think he's worth stashing in some standard leagues, and definitely needs to be rostered in deeper redraft leagues and dynasty/keeper leagues.
I anticipate Smith getting going at some point, and am willing to stash him on the bench until he heats up. If he struggles for a lot longer, or gets sent down, then I'd obviously be a lot more inclined to drop him in a lot of leagues.
More Droppable Players
Grant Holmes, Connor Wong, Masyn Winn, Tanner Houck, David Peterson and Willson Contreras are the other players on the drop list today.
Holmes is down 2.6% and is rostered in 44% of leagues overall. Wong is owned in 32% of leagues after a 2.4% dropoff.
Winn is down 2.3%, as is Houck. Winn is still rostered in 66% of leagues, while Houck is at 81%.
Peterson is down to 51% owned, while Contreras is down to 94%. Peterson was dropped in 2% of leagues, while Contreras was let go in 1.9% of leagues.
