Week 4 Fantasy Football Sleepers: Andy Dalton, Roschon Johnson, Jakobi Meyers, Will Dissly and More
These sleepers can be plugged into your lineup this week if you're in need of a sleeper option.
Quarterbacks
Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears
Williams hasn't been great so far this season but has flashed a few times. This could be his breakout week as he potentially gets Keenan Allen back and takes on the Los Angeles Rams.
The Rams are allowing the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Their defense has been devastated by injuries, especially their secondary. Week 4 could be Williams' breakout game.
Andy Dalton, Carolina Panthers
We all saw what Dalton did last week. He absolutely exploded for 319 yards and three TDs. That performance alone makes him a sleeper for this week.
When a quarterback shows you his ceiling in his only start of the season, it's hard to ignore. The matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals is solid as well. They have allowed the 13th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. It's not a slam dunk, but they are below average against the position.
Running Backs
Cam Akers, Houston Texans
It looks like Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce are both trending to sitting out again in Week 4. Akers wasn't great last week, but had a rough matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, who also flipped the game script by blowing out the Texans.
This week, he takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to running backs this season. They are particularly bad at stopping pass-catching backs and around the goal line. Assuming Akers does get the start, he is in line to have a huge game with the backfield almost all to himself.
Justice Hill, Baltimore Ravens
This may seem like a strange choice after watching Derrick Henry dominate last week, but this is going to be a very different game against the Buffalo Bills. The matchup isn't what we are worried about. The Bills have been beat up at linebacker and they have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to running backs.
However, when you look a bit deeper into the numbers, they have actually allowed the second-most receiving yards to the position, but only the 20th-most rushing yards. The Baltimore backs are also very game-script dependent and if the Ravens do fall behind, which is very possible, we could see a lot more of Hill than Henry as we get later in the game.
Roschon Johnson, Chicago Bears
Johnson has seen his snaps and opportunities spike each week this season. Last week he saw a season-high 13 opportunities while D'Andre Swift saw just 17 and Khalil Herbert only four.
There is a chance Johnson is taking over this backfield and his opportunities will continue to rise. He has been much better than Swift who has been awful. In Week 3, Swift averaged 1.5 yards per carry to Johnson's 3.8. Odds are Johnson is on your waiver wire and he may be the RB1 as soon as this week.
Wide Receivers
Jakobi Meyers, Las Vegas Raiders
Reports have come out that Davante Adams is dealing with some sort of hamstring injury. We don't know a whole lot about the issue so we will have to monitor it closely.
However, if he was forced to miss this week's game, then Meyers would serve as the WR1 against a Cleveland Browns' defense that has been in the bottom half of the league when it comes to slowing down fantasy wideouts, allowing the 12th-most points to the position.
Jalen Nailor, Minnesota Vikings
Nailor has caught a TD pass in every game so far this season. Since Jordan Addison went down with an injury in Week 1, he has been lighting it up. Over the past two weeks, he has turned eight targets into six receptions for 85 yards and two TDs.
If Addison misses another game, then there is no reason to believe that Nailor won't continue his impressive output. Sam Darnold loves to look his way in the end zone and that has amounted to a lot more fantasy points than anyone anticipated.
Tutu Atwell, Los Angeles Rams
When Cooper Kupp went down with an injury with Puka Nacua already on injured reserve, fantasy owners rushed to the waiver wire. They grabbed Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson and Jordan Whittington. Of course, Tutu Atwell stepped up and has been the best wideout on the team.
Over the past two weeks, he has seen nine targets that he has turned into seven catches for 141 yards. He looks like he could be a solid option in PPR leagues if you need to plug someone in. If nothing else, he is the best option for the Rams until reinforcements come.
Tight Ends
Will Dissly, Los Angeles Chargers
What makes this difficult is deciding between Dissly and Hayden Hurst. However, we went with Dissly because he has out-targeted Hurst in each of the past two games, seeing three targets in each game.
This week the Chargers go up against the Chiefs, who have been destroyed by tight ends this season. They have allowed five more fantasy points per game to the position than any other team. Kansas City has a very good defense, but they have one glaring vulnerability and you should exploit that this week.
