NFL Power Rankings Week 8: Lions, Ravens Battling Chiefs for Top Spot

The new power rankings are in! Here's how everything shakes out.

32. New England Patriots
Last Week: 31

The Pats hit rock bottom when they lost to the Jags last Sunday. With losses to the Jags, Jets, and Tua-less Dolphins, it will be difficult to climb out of this hole. Their only hope seems to be beating the Titans in a few weeks.

31. Tennessee Titans
Last Week: 30

The Titans continued to spiral this week while getting blown out by the Bills. This team is a complete disaster.

30. Jacksonville Jaguars
Last Week: 32

Jacksonville is still terrible, but beating the Patriots gets them out of the basement.

29. Las Vegas Raiders
Last Week: 29

We would love to drop the Raiders further after another loss, but there isn't anyone left that we can drop them under. That will be a running theme for the handful of teams.

28. Cleveland Browns
Last Week: 28

The Browns finally saw a glimmer of hope this week when Deshaun Watson blew out his Achilles. Jameis Winston may actually breathe some life into their offense. While the team couldn't bench him for financial reasons, they are probably better off without him on the field.

27. Carolina Panthers
Last Week: 27

Carolina is bad and you could make a case that they should be lower. However, who are you making a case for being higher?

26. New Orleans Saints
Last Week: 26

The Saints' offense has completely imploded, much in part due to injury. They are as bad as any offense in the league heading into Week 8.

25. New York Jets
Last Week: 25

This team is terrible. Aaron Rodgers is done and the defense is a shell of what they were last season. They get dominated in the trenches on both sides of the ball and Rodgers has somehow turned this dumpster fire of a franchise into an even bigger clown show than it was before him.

24. New York Giants
Last Week: 24

Every time the Giants show some promise this season, they turn around and look terrible for weeks after. They were blown out again in Week 7, but still aren't the worst team in their own stadium.

23. Miami Dolphins
Last Week: 22

Another week and another backup quarterback playing the worst football you'll see all year in Miami. However, they finally get Tua Tagovailoa back this week and have some reason to be hopeful.

22. Los Angeles Chargers
Last Week: 20

The Chargers look like the same old Chargers, even with Jim Harbaugh at the helm. It may take a few years to change the culture, but we aren't seeing it yet.

21. Los Angeles Rams
Last Week: 23

It was only the Raiders, but the Rams got themselves a win this week.

20. Indianapolis Colts
Last Week: 18

This week, Indy squeaked by against Miami, who were quarterbacked by Tyler Huntley and Tim Boyle. They drop two spots despite winning the game.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Last Week: 12

The Bucs see a huge drop this week after losing to the Ravens. That's not the reason for the drop though. Baltimore is an outstanding team. However, in that game they lost Chris Godwin for the season and Mike Evans for an extended period of time. That will be hard to bounce back from.

18. Seattle Seahawks
Last Week: 21

Seattle pulled off a surprising beatdown of the Falcons this week. We didn't see that coming.

17. Denver Broncos
Last Week: 19

The Broncos are a tricky team to judge. Their defense is great and they have a rookie quarterback who you expect to be up and down. This week they are up.

16. Cincinnati Bengals
Last Week: 17

Cincy needs all the wins they can get, so beating the Browns is a bigger deal than it should be for a team with this much talent.

15. Arizona Cardinals
Last Week: 16

Arizona knocked off the mediocre-at-best Chargers, which is enough to jump them up a spot.

14. Dallas Cowboys
Last Week: 15

Cowboys climb a spot during their bye week.

13. Chicago Bears
Last Week: 14

The Bears are also pushed up the rankings during their bye week.

12. San Francisco 49ers
Last Week: 11

The. Niners lost to the Chiefs, dropping their record to 3-4 in a week that they lost Brandon Aiyuk for the season. Still, it's tough to drop them any further than this.

11. Atlanta Falcons
Last Week: 7

Atlanta lost a head-scratcher to the Seahawks this week. We'll mostly chalk it up to a bad week, but they still drop four spots and are now in danger of a major fall if they disappoint again.

10. Philadelphia Eagles
Last Week: 13

Philly dismantled the Giants as they continue their Jekyll and Hyde season. When they're good they look great, but they have also looked terrible when they lose.

9. Pittsburgh Steelers
Last Week: 10

The Steelers are the same team they always are. They'll inevitably win a wild card spot and get knocked out of the playoffs early.

8. Washington Commanders
Last Week: 9

It's hard to argue that the Commanders aren't for real and they have clearly been the best team in the NFC East.

7. Buffalo Bills
Last Week: 8

A blowout is a blowout so they climb a spot. Nevertheless, beating the Titans is only worth so much, no matter how badly you beat them.

6. Houston Texans
Last Week: 3

Houston got knocked off by Green Bay last week. Those are the types of games they need to start winning if they want to be taken seriously as a Super Bowl contender.

5. Green Bay Packers
Last Week: 6

The Packers got another impressive win against a tough opponent when they knocked off the Texans.

4. Minnesota Vikings
Last Week: 2

Minnesota finally lost, but it was a hard-fought game against a tough divisional opponent.

3. Detroit Lions
Last Week: 5

The tough divisional opponent who defeated the Vikings was the Lions, and they climbed into the top three.

2. Baltimore Ravens
Last Week: 4

Baltimore looks scary on offense. That combination of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry is a nightmare for opposing defenses.

1. Kansas City Chiefs
Last Week: 1

Another week, another win. The Chiefs reign at No. 1 continues.
