Top Tacklers

Tennessee’s Daryl Worley finished with 17 total tackles on Sunday. He had just five tackles coming into the week, but some injuries allowed Worley to step up. He’ll get a ton of waiver wire love going into week 14, and it probably won’t be just in deep IDP leagues.

Los Angeles Chargers’ Troy Dye tallied 14 tackles. Dye only had 18 total tackles on the season coming into the game, and injuries helped him to a big fantasy showing. He might not remain a good IDP option for as long as Worley, but he’d definitely be worth a spot start again if Denzel Perryman missed another game.

Philadelphia’s Zack Baun and Cincinnati’s Germaine Pratt and Akeem Davis-Gaither had 13 tackles each.

Baun has been a good/great IDP performer all season, and now has topped 10 tackles in six games, including four of the past six. He also had half-a-sack and a forced fumble on Sunday, and that splash play ability makes Baun a great weekly IDP starting option.

Pratt now has 110 tackles on the season after getting into double digits for the third time. Those high tackle numbers are enough to start him in most IDP leagues.

Davis-Gaither broke out on Sunday, and now has 37 tackles for the season - his previous season high was four tackles. He’ll get some waiver love this coming week, but I’d temper my expectations with him moving forward and just trust him in deep IDP leagues.

Indianapolis’ Zaire Franklin and Los Angeles Rams’ Christian Rozeboom had 12 tackles each.

Franklin is an IDP beast and topped 10 tackles for the seventh time this season. He also had 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a pass defensed on Sunday, which shows exactly why he needs to be starting in IDP leagues.

Rozeboom added a pass defensed to his final line on Sunday. He’s been in double figures for tackles in three straight and four of the past five games now. Rozeboom needs to be starting in most IDP leagues going forward.

Minnesota’s Blake Cashman, Pittsburgh’s DeShon Elliott and Baltimore’s Roquan Smith all had 11 tackles.

Cashman got into double figures for tackles for the first time since late September. He’s battled injuries this season, but has a good fantasy outlook after some injuries hit the LB position in Minnesota.

Elliott got into double figures in tackles for the second time this season, but still has 83 overall, which is a great mark for a safety. He’s made some other splash plays, which makes him a pretty good weekly IDP option.

Smith topped 10 tackles for the third straight week - he also had 0.5 sacks on Sunday. Smith is a good/great weekly IDP option, and needs to be playing in most leagues.

Minnesota’s Camryn Bynum and Joshua Metellus, Carolina’s Josey Jewell, Chargers’ Derwin James Jr. and Daiyan Henley, Tennessee’s Kenneth Murray Jr., Philadelphia’s Nakobe Dean and Rams’ Omar Speights all recorded 10 tackles.

Bynum reached double digits for tackles for the first time this season, but also has 68 for the season. He’s also picked off three passes and swatted down nine passes, so Bynum is a pretty solid, and underrated, IDP option.

Jewell topped 10 tackles for the third time this season - he has at least six tackles in six straight games. Jewell also had a sack on Sunday, marking the second straight game he’s posted one. That little extra sack upside makes Jewell a good IDP option on a weekly basis.

Metellus reached double figures in tackles for the first time this season, but he’s also got 71 overall, which makes him a good IDP option in the secondary. With a few splash plays mixed in, Metellus is a pretty solid weekly option.

James also had an interception on Sunday, which made a good fantasy week a great one. He’s reached 10 tackles twice this season, and both came in the past two weeks. James also has 2.5 sacks and a few other splash plays this season, which makes him another good weekly starting option.

Murray had a forced fumble and 0.5 sacks on top of his 10 tackles. He’s gone over 10 tackles twice now, and has at least six tackles in all but one game this season. With a few sacks and splash plays tacked on, Murray is a good weekly IDP option.

Dean hit 10 tackles for the fourth time this season and second time in three weeks - he had eight tackles in the other contest. Dean is another good weekly IDP option, despite not having too many splash plays this season.

Henley appears in this article again, after reaching double-digit tackles for the sixth straight week. He’s a great weekly starting option, even without many splash plays otherwise.

Speights has come on of late, and hit 10 tackles for the first time this season. He’s got at least six tackles in each of the past four games, showing he deserves plenty of IDP starts going forward.

Other Top Performers

Arizona’s Mack Wilson Sr. had two sacks among his seven tackles, along with a pass defensed on Sunday. He’s got 62 tackles on the season, but just three total sacks, so Sunday was probably an outlier game. Still, Wilson is a decent IDP option in deeper setups, and now has a little more upside.

Seattle’s Leonard Williams finished week 13 with two sacks, four tackles, a blocked kick and a 92-yard interception return. This was a big-time fantasy performance, and one that won’t be repeated, but Williams has done enough this season overall to start in a bunch of IDP leagues.

Pittsburgh’s T.J. Watt had two sacks among his three tackles, along with a forced fumble on Sunday. Watt is one of the best pass rushers in the game, and delivered again for fantasy owners on Sunday. Keep starting him in leagues where sacks are rewarded heavily.

Atlanta’s Arnold Ebiketie had two sacks among his three tackles on Sunday. He’s got just 27 tackles and three sacks now on the season, but with all of the sacks over the past four games, Ebiketie should get some deep league IDP starts at the very least.

Arizona’s L.J. Collier also had two sacks on Sunday. He’s got 3.5 sacks and 22 tackles on the season, with all of the sacks over the past four games. He’s another emerging IDP option in deeper setups.

New York Jets’ Will McDonald IV posted two sacks on Sunday, and has 10 on the season now. He’s a bit of a boom-or-bust option with only 21 tackles, but in deeper IDP leagues, McDonald should be starting with that sack upside.

Arizona’s Sean Murphy-Bunting had four tackles and two forced fumbles on Sunday. Murphy-Bunting has been a good fantasy IDP option over the past couple weeks, and will be added/started in more leagues going forward as a result.

Chargers’ Tarheeb Still had three tackles and two interceptions on Sunday - he returned on pick for a score. Still has 36 tackles, three interceptions and eight passes defensed now for the season, which means he’s a decent deep league IDP option in the secondary.

Injury Roundup

Houston’s Azeez Al-Shaair was ejected after a vicious late hit on Trevor Lawrence. He could be facing a suspension, which would weaken the Texans’ defense, as Al-Shaair has 68 total tackles on the season.

Safeties Jimmie Ward and Eric Murray also got hurt for the Texans, so the defense could really be in trouble moving forward.

Jacksonville’s Tyson Campbell left with a thigh injury. Along with playing almost every snap in the games he’s appeared in, Campbell has 34 tackles over seven games, so his absence could weaken an already bad Jags’ defense.

Minnesota’s Stephon Gilmore left with a hamstring injury. He’s been playing just about every defensive snap this season, so him being out could weaken the Vikings’ secondary.

Jets’ Sauce Gardner left with a hamstring injury of his own. He’s one of the best cornerbacks in the game, so his loss could be detrimental to the Jets’ defense.

Philadelphia’s Reed Blankenship left with a concussion. He’s been playing a bunch, and has 67 tackles this season, so him being out could weaken a great Philly defense a bit.

Tampa Bay’s K.J. Britt left with an ankle injury. He’s been playing a ton of snaps and racking up tackles, so his absence would be a blow to an already shaky Bucs’ defense.

Tennessee’s Roger McCreary left with a shoulder injury. He’s been playing a bunch of snaps, and had eight total tackles on Sunday, so if he’s out, another cornerback could be fantasy relevant for a bit.
