The 2024-25 NFL season has come to a close after the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Game Stats

The Eagles topped the Chiefs 40-22, and really, it wasn't nearly that close.

Philadelphia scored the first 34 points in the game. Kansas City scored nearly all 22 of its points in the final quarter, scoring for the first time with 34 seconds remaining in the third.

After a brilliant season full of tight games, Kansas City was absolutely demolished in this one. Philly dominated in all three phases to ease to the win.

For scoring 40 points, Philadelphia only had a modest 345 total yards of offense. The Eagles threw for 210 yards and rushed for 135. Philly ran 70 plays, committed eight penalties, was sacked twice, turned the ball over once and held the ball for about 37 minutes.

Kansas City finished with 275 total yards, with 226 through the air and just 49 on the ground. The Chiefs had seven penalties, three turnovers, got sacked six times and ran just 49 plays.

Philadelphia Top Performers

Offensively, Philadelphia was led by quarterback Jalen Hurts, who was named the game's MVP. He was 17-of-22 passing for 221 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Hurts added 72 rushing yards (a Super Bowl record) and scored once across 11 carries.

Really, his lone blemish on the night was an interception, and it didn't end up hurting the team as the defense forced a three-and-out right after.

Running back Saquon Barkley was held relatively in check, so it's wild the Eagles dominated the game the way they did. He had 57 rushing yards on 25 carries and added 40 receiving yards on six catches and seven targets.

DeVonta Smith caught four of his five targets for 69 yards and a touchdown. He caught a 46-yard touchdown pass from Hurts in the third quarter to put the team up 34-0.

A.J. Brown went for 43 yards and a score on three grabs and five targets. He had a 12-yard touchdown pass within the final two minutes of the first half to put Philly up 24-0.

Jahan Dotson was targeted twice, making two catches - one for 27 yards and the other for 15.

Dallas Goedert was surprisingly quiet in his favorable defensive matchup, going for 27 yards on two grabs and targets.

Philly's defense is really the unit that shined.

Zack Baun posted seven total tackles to lead the Eagles, and also had an interception.

Cooper DeJean intercepted a pass and returned it 38 yards for a touchdown. He finished with three tackles.

Milton Williams had two sacks among his four tackles and also forced and recovered a fumble.

Josh Sweat had 2.5 sacks among his six tackles, along with posting three quarterback hits.

Oren Burks posted five tackles. Jordan Davis had a sack among his two tackles and Jalyx Hunt had a half-sack among his two tackles.

Nolan Smith Jr. and Jalen Carter didn't have any tackles, but registered two QB hits each. The Eagles' pass rush simply dominated all night, and they did it without blitzing.

Kicker Jake Elliott was perfect on his four field goals and four extra points. He connected on field goals from 48 (twice), 29 and 50 yards.

Chiefs Top Performers

Most of the Chiefs' top performers were only made possible with late production - I'd call it garbage time stats.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was 21-of-32 passing for 257 yards and three touchdowns, but he threw two picks, lost a fumble and was sacked six times. Mahomes had an 11.4 quarterback rating.

Mahomes was also the team's leading rusher, going for 25 yards on four carries. All other Kansas City backs combined for seven carries and 24 yards.

Xavier Worthy was the top pass catcher, making eight grabs for 157 yards and two touchdowns on eight targets. He caught 24- and 50-yard touchdown passes from Mahomes.

After Worthy, Travis Kelce was the only other Chief with over 20 receiving yards. Kelce had just 39 yards on four receptions and six targets.

DeAndre Hopkins caught two of his five targets for 18 yards and a touchdown.

Drue Tranquill led the defense with 11 total tackles. He had a sack and two tackles for losses.

Nick Bolton had nine tackles, while Justin Reid had seven. Chamarri Conner had two tackles for losses among his six tackles.

George Karlaftis had a sack among his four tackles. Chris Jones was the only other Kansas City player with a QB hit, and he ended up leaving the game with an injury.

Bryan Cook had four tackles and an interception.

Kicker Harrison Butker was not on the field for any field goals or extra points.
