Both newly-acquired Steelers, WR Mike Williams and OLB Preston Smith, are expected to make their Pittsburgh debuts Sunday vs. Washington.

The Steelers just ran a perfect fake punt. Unfortunately James Pierre was part of the play... pic.x.com/kwmesP1xMW
Preston Smith, who went from the Packers to the Steelers, is in the same boat.
"They were just coming off the bye, and I was on a bye and so I had to go back to work. Now I don't get a bye anymore, but I'm excited to be here. I'm ready to play. I'm ready to ball out."
@AdamSchefter: An oddity to the Za'Darius Smith situation: he was supposed to have his bye this weekend with the Browns, and the Lions already have had their bye weekend, so if he plays Sunday night vs. the Texans -- and he is listed as questionable -- it will be an 18-game season for him. Lions are trying to decide how to best handle the situation for a player acclimating to a new team and system.
Mason McCormick is dancing on the field as the Steelers get their game-sealing first down. Steelers hang on to win 28-27
#Jets LT Tyron Smith has allowed 7 sacks this season. That ties him with Broderick Jones for most allowed in the NFL. He is one away from his career high. He allowed eight his rookie year. You wonder if it might be time to get Olu Fashanu some time there.
C Zach Frazier said the Steelers didn't have a play called for the game-sealing fourth-and-1 when they got Johnny Newton to jump. "All we were doing was breaking the huddle and then trying to sell, like we were going to sneak it. So broke the huddle. Everyone just sprinted to the ball, kind of acted like we were going to sneak it. And Russ got him with the hard count."
Vertical shots to Van Jefferson and Calvin Austin is not an effective offensive plan
Terry McLaurin had Donte Jackson beat on the outside on that third and 3.
Looks like left ankle for Alex Highsmith. The Preston Smith acquisition is even more important now.
Mac Jones got all the reps in practice this week. Barring a surprise, he'll become the third QB from the 2021 draft to start a game this season, joining Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields.
@RapSheet: #Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence is out today and his immediate future is uncertain as he deals with a significant AC joint sprain, sources say. Some players have had surgery with the same injury. Today, Mac Jones starts.

Najee Harris now able to jog off after the play.
Russell Wilson to Pat Freiermuth on third down gets in the end zone for Wilson's second TD of the day.
Justin Fields is active and back at No. 2 QB. Mike Williams and Preston Smith are both active. Inactives: No. 4 QB Kyle Allen (3rd QB), No. 13 WR Scott Miller, No. 21 CB C.J. Henderson, No. 51 LB Nick Herbig, No. 64 OG Max Scharping
Jaylen Warren tried to fight toward the goal line and Jeremy Chinn muscles it out of his arms. Call on the field is Washington ball.
That's the third penalty on Joey Porter Jr. today. the DPI gives the Commanders a fresh set of downs on the 1.
Punt team taketh away, punt team giveth. Ben Skowronek recovers the muffed punt at the 14.
Cam Sutton and Patrick Queen with the pass defense on Daniels' third-down attempt to McLaurin over the middle. Sutton's played three snaps so far in his return to the lineup from suspension.
Steelers defense is tough. Cameron Heyward worked Nick Allegretti to get to Jayden Daniels. First sack of the game.
Steelers have to take a timeout facing 3rd-and-9 after Darnell Washington misses Wilson's second down throw. Washington didn't even look for the pass.
Steelers go to Cordarrelle Patterson on 3rd-and-2 in his first action since injuring his ankle vs. Colts. He only picks up a yard and Steelers have to punt after going three-and-out
It didn’t take long for the first injury to pop up for the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to multiple reports including Steelers beat writer Ray Fittipaldo, starting right tackle Broderick Jones suffered some sort of leg injury and limped off the field under his own power.
Spencer Anderson is in for Jones. The team is still waiting for the return of rookie offensive tackle Troy Fautanu. Jones has struggled in his second NFL season but was playing better heading into the bye week.
Swing tackle Calvin Anderson in the game for Broderick Jones, who limped off
It is safe to say Steelers’ CB James Pierre may be getting the cold shoulder from the Steel City, following what appeared to be a beautifully designed fake-punt call by Pittsburgh’s special teams coach Danny Smith—only for Pierre to drop the pass from special teams ace Miles Killebrew.
On fourth down, deep within the Steelers’ own 20-yard line, the shocking 18-yard pass from Killebrew seemed to catch Washington’s special teams unit off guard, and would have given Pittsburgh a crucial first down. However, due to Pierre’s botched execution, the Commanders took over in the red zone on downs
The Pittsburgh Steelers will look to extend their win streak to four games this afternoon when they take on the Washington Commanders.
They’ll have to do it without outside linebacker Nick Herbig, who is sidelined for his fourth consecutive game with a hamstring injury.
Here are the Week 10 inactive players for the Steelers:
Mike Tomlin was asked about the similarities between Jayden Daniels and Lamar Jackson: "Be real slow comparing people to Lamar Jackson. That's a multi-time MVP. That's Mr. Jackson." pic.x.com/5zqRhEla9E
#Commanders RT Andrew Wylie, one of their most consistent and durable offensive linemen, will be out today vs. the #Steelers due to a shoulder injury, per source. He was set to go up against TJ Watt. A significant loss up front for Jayden Daniels.
Terry McLaurin to @john_keim: "Congrats on 500 games. More games than I've had QBs." I'm crying. ??? pic.x.com/BIFneHr3IZ
Commanders CB Benjamin St-Juste, who dislocated a finger in the loss, talked about that last TD by Pittsburgh: "Sometimes I get caught up in trying to make the play so much that I try to guard everything. In these situations, you've got to pick and choose and you've got to pick the right option. You got to play the fade. That's what he likes to do. That's what Russ is good at."

Make that 7 DPIs vs. Washington:
Noah Brown - 5
Luke McCaffrey - 1
Terry McLaurin - 1
@NickiJhabvala: Opponents have been called for DPI 6 times against the Commanders. Noah Brown has been the intended target for 5 of them (Luke McCaffrey was the target on the 6th).

Zane Gonzalez, in his first kick with the Commanders, nails the extra point.
Another muffed punt by Olamide Zaccheaus. This time, Pittsburgh recovers. Steelers ball at Washington's 14.
Sack No. 2 of the game: Frankie Luvu gets to Russell Wilson
Inactive for Washington: K Austin Seibert (hip) RB Brian Robinson Jr. (hamstring) T Cornelius Lucas (ankle) CB Marshon Lattimore (hamstring) QB Jeff Driskel S Darrick Forrest LB Dominique Hampton
Noah Brown drew back-to-back PIs on Pittsburgh. Pretty good at that.
Dante Fowler -- really good at rushing the passer.
RB Jeremy McNichols gets into the end zone for the Commanders third rushing TD of the day. Starting off the drive with the 54-yard play from Daniels to McLaurin set that one up. JPJ is having a horrible, no good, very bad day.
Tyler Biadasz is questionable to return with an ankle injury.
RT: TE Zach Ertz (743) has passed Greg Olsen (742) for No. 6 all-time in NFL history for receptions by a tight end. Ertz accomplished the feat in his 161st game. Olsen accomplished the feat in his 199th game.
