The Tennessee Titans lost another game on Sunday, and it wasn’t particularly close. They fell to the Chargers 27-17 and are now 2-7 on the season.
This game was a microcosm of all the problems the Titans have had this year. Pass protection was terrible, special teams were terrible, and penalties came at costly times. The offense was unimaginative and had few promising drives after the first half.
The Chargers exploited matchups on the Titans’ defense. Linebacker Kenneth Murray Jr. was frequently matched up against receivers, which never worked out well. The Chargers ended the day with 309 total yards of offense.
The Chargers are set to face the Titans on Sunday.

Herbert has looked like his usual self the past four games since Greg Roman took him off the leash and let him air it out. He has surpassed this number since the team’s bye week, and he should be positioned to go over it again against a Titans secondary that will be without star defensive backs L’Jarius Snead and Quandre Diggs

Kenneth Murray’s return to SoFi Stadium has not gone the way he hoped.
After signing with the Titans this offseason, Murray was juked by Justin Herbert on a first half scramble up the middle and has struggled to contend with tight end Will Dissly in coverage. With the Chargers up 13-10 in the third quarter, Los Angeles lined up with 3rd and 8 from the Titans 16 yard line.
Herbert dropped back to pass with a solid pocket, waiting for a receiver to come open. Quentin Johnston ran a crossing route that was not picked up until Murray drifted back outside the right hash, chasing after Johnston as they entered the end zone
