Game News
The #Colts just scored a touchdown with 12 seconds remaining and took the lead on this Anthony Richardson two-point conversion. Stones by Shane Steichen. pic.x.com/gpbaNkLPBs
Bad time for Maye's first turnover of the game. He and Henry not exactly on the same page. Ball off Henry and to Julian Blackmon.
Pats bailed out when Richardson overthrows Kylen Granson on third and long. He had him. By a few yards.
Bad miscommunication up front by Pats on 3rd & 1. Onwenu blocks down. Jacobs blocks out. And Grover Stewart is left untouched in the hole. He disrupts, and Speed finishes off the play for a 3 yard loss. Pats settle for a FG off the turnover. up 9-7.
In the fourth quarter of what eventually ended up being a Week 12 loss for the Indianapolis Colts at the hands of the Detroit Lions, wide receiver Ashton Dulin would leave the game with an ankle injury and did not return.
Following Sunday’s injury, Dulin was listed with having an ankle injury. He did not practice at all during the week and after Friday’s final practice, head coach Shane Steichen ruled him out of this week’s matchup with the New England Patriots.
As of now, we haven’t received any official word on the timeline for Dulin and his injury. With him not being placed on injured reserve, perhaps the Colts feel it is more of a short-term injury
The Indianapolis Colts have made a change at right guard for their Week 13 matchup with the New England Patriots.
According to The Athletic’s James Boyd, as the Colts were going through warmups prior to Sunday’s game, it was Mark Glowinski at right guard and not Dalton Tucker.
Tucker had been starting there since Will Fries was placed on injured reserve but as of late, he has really struggled.
In the last three games, Tucker has taken his lumps, allowing 13 pressures and two sacks in just the last three games. Out of 72 eligible guards during that span, Tucker ranks 72nd in PFF’s pass-blocking efficiency metric and 60th in run-blocking grade
Following the Indianapolis Colts’ Week 12 loss to the Detroit Lions, center Tanor Bortolini reported concussion symptoms and entered protocols very early on this past week.
After head coach Shane Steichen announced on Monday that Bortolini was in concussion protocol, he did not practice at all during the week and won’t be able to return until he is cleared. Following Friday’s practice, Bortolini was ruled out of this week’s game against New England.
Every player goes through concussion protocol at a different pace. So as far as when Bortolini could return, we are in wait-and-see mode. The Colts do have their long awaited bye week following the New England game, giving Bortolini additional time to return to the lineup
Ahead of their Week 13 matchup with the New England Patriots, the Indianapolis Colts announced that seven players will be inactive for this game, including a few key contributors.
WR Josh DownsWR Ashton DulinOT Braden SmithQB Sam EhlingerC Tanor BortoliniDE Isaiah LandS Darren Hall
On gamedays, teams are permitted to have only 48 players active. So with the Colts elevating two practice squad players to the 53-man roster for this game, that means seven players have to be inactive.
Downs, Dulin, Smith and Bortolini were all ruled out on Friday. Downs is dealing with a shoulder injury, Dulin an ankle injury and Bortolini is in concussion protocol. Smith is out with a personal matter
Colts running back Jonathan Taylor's first receiving touchdown of the 2024 season gave his team the lead in New England.
Bedard: To win games like this - or any - Patriots need to stop coaching scared and let Drake Maye take over dlvr.it/TGWjLw
Mapu was a third round pick just a year ago. Not ideal.
@MikeGiardi: Patriots inactives of note: Marte Mapu, KJ Osborn and Jaquelin Roy (neck). Joe Milton is the third QB. Jabril Peppers is active after missing the last eight games. Deatrich Wise is back after being out the last two.
Hunter Henry takes multiple BRUTAL helmet-to-helmet hits. No flag...🤔 pic.x.com/Am2qWMHHbX
Mayo promised personnel changes this week. Looks like you'll get one at LG. Layden Robinson appears set to start.
Feels like we're building to a Marcus Jones play at some point. He's been a decoy twice
Kwity Paye drops into coverage (he's an edge player). Maye attacks his zone, hitting Kayshon Boutte for 29 yards on a hook/curl.
Much more consistency from Joey Slye in this warmup than the last time the Pats were home. Just drilled on from 62 yards toward the lighthouse.
Jaylinn Hawkins in the box is not wise.
@MikeGiardi: Pats big nickel defense getting chewed up on the ground during this opening drive. Taylor has gains of 9, 4, 5 and 6.
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has found comfort in throwing to the tight ends this season.
That was once again evident on his touchdown pass to veteran tight end Austin Hooper, who made a leaping grab to give the Patriots the lead in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Maye squeezed the throw through several Colts defenders for the 16-yard touchdown. It ended an eight-play, 70-yard drive and took 4:34 off the clock. The touchdown grab was Hooper’s second of the season, as he continues to be a dependable second option for the Patriots offense
New England Patriots corner Christian Gonzalez continued his high-level of play this season with an acrobatic interception on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts while being face-masked.
The interception was part of a productive day for the rising star defensive back, who allowed no catches and no yards in the game. He was only targeted once with the Colts mostly throwing away from him.
It was his second interception of the season. He made a tough read in a tight space and leveraged himself in front of the receiver to come down with the grab. The turnover showed off his athleticism, ball skills and overall toughness as a playmaker

Douglas was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report with an ankle injury.
Douglas, a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft by New England, primarily lines up in the slot. He’s been a reliable target, catching 76 percent of his targets at 9.9 yards per catch with a touchdown
The defense for the New England Patriots will be as close to full health as it’s been since the start of the season.
Both safety Jabrill Peppers and defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. have been given the green light to play in Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Peppers was dropped from the Commissioner’s Exempt List and reinstated by the NFL earlier in the week. He hasn’t played since the team’s Week 4 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Meanwhile, Wise has missed the last two games due to a foot injury
The New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts looked like two evenly matched football teams with both sides making plays on the ball throughout Sunday’s game.
The Patriots’ defense made several solid plays of their own, including an interception by linebacker Christian Elliss in the first quarter that led to points on the ensuing offensive drive.
The interception was recorded off a tipped pass by Jahlani Tavai. Elliss was able to grab the ball and run it back for additional field position. It was Elliss’ first interception of his NFL career
